no I believe they are the "buttons" (or keys) one must press on a keyboard to play this game.(it's like guitar hero only with a keyboard and the letter keys so there are more "notes") There is no "w" in music lawl

They do correspond, there's a sound lag on the video. Youtube always uploads the sound to videos at least a quarter-second too late.
