The angry and despising looks on the face of Sir David Attenborough is classical. The interviewer was not asking a question, he was making a surreptitious statement.
You can't make the argument about what happend before the big bang? or any other scientific theory, becuase that implies to if there's a god where did he come from? or what was there before god?
Carl Sagan: Why not just say that the universe always exited?
A: Because the universe is physical. Physical things have limits.
Dyson: The gaps of science are getting smaller and smaller.
A: And what physical proof is there that these gaps will be filled? None. Just because something gets smaller doesn't mean that it will someday disappear. The truth is that every answer brings on yet more questions -- hence, more gaps.
@namesameasu I wasn't pretentious enough to think that I would demolish theism in 10 minutes.. Sagan; how do you know physical things have limits? And if God is non-physical how can say anything about God's attributes or intention, it's literally impossible for the mind to conceive the void of the timeless, spaceless and immaterial because it's literally nothing. Tyson; In context - he didn't make an assertion, it was a response to the common god of the gaps argument.
@djbanizza "Can you prove that physical things have limits? And can you show me the limit of time for example?"
Physicality and space-time are mutually dependent upon one another. It's nonsensical to say that something physical is non-measurable, and this applies to "time" as well.
Does the universe have no beginning? The second law of thermodynamics negates that hypothesis. Matter is "running down," like a battery or burning candle. By logic, it must have had a beginning. Jesus is Lord - even of science!
@shilohrenovation Or Allah, or Brahman, or Krishna. Or deism, pan-deism, panentheism, and pan-psychism. How can you say anything intelligible about a 'being' that transcends space-time and energy/matter ie. the universe? How can you logically saying anything about it's attributes, or intention if it transcends the context (ie. the universe) that makes the permits inference of attributes, and intentions by the human mind. watch?v=5k3AvZBWJgE
@shilohrenovation The second law of thermodynamics only applies to a closed system. As we do not know if the universe is a closed system or not, your argument is invalid.
"By logic, it must have had a beginning. Jesus is Lord - even of science!"
The universe does not care about your logic.
Human logic is limited and understanding is not very intuitive for humans. That is why we have to revert to maths to understand the universe that goes beyond the human logic and intuition.
@shilohrenovation To your theory, Why is the surface of the sun hotter than his core even though according to law of thermodynamics it should be exactly opposite. Why some particles of radioactive dont behave as they should only when someone monitoring them, but as soon as they stop observing them, they change to another substances. Our logic cant explain everything and thats exactly why is believing in BBang theory same as bealiving in god. But for BB we have some sort of evidence :)
So another one who don't understand the second law... congrats you are in partnership with so many layman scientist who think they have a proof of whatever god.
Because even IF you would be right (what you are not...) who thefuck says it must be YOUR god who made the universe? There are thousands of them and only because you murdered most of their worshippers doesn't mean you are right.
Atheists always loose every single debate with religious people. That's because atheists use LOGIC and ARGuMENTS, two things to which religious people are impervious.
If by "impervious" you mean imminently evasive in answering questing you are correct...oh yeah, plus the lack of any real evidence. If you belief(in old testament since the big 3 like that book) it says that god created life b4 light. Cosmology tells us that a star would have to die fusing the elements hydrogen and helium together to create the heavier element like oxygen when mixed with the hydrogen here created water, the pre-cursor 2 life. If it was biblical One of these theories are wrong.
@420MusicFiend Exactly. It would either entail a complete ignorance or avoidance of evidence to deny stellar or supernova nucleosynthesis or a twisting of the meaning of the original text - essentialy rendering the text meaningless. You could say "oh, it's all a metaphor" and so there's no reason to believe it.
@jeremylhay I'm sensing the sarcasm. However, I'm not lying, go look up william lane craig and watch for a while. He'll easily answer every single question posed.
@Andrewizner William Lane Craig? Are you serious? The king of conjecture and assumption? The king of erecting straw men by presenting an argument and then waiting for a rebuttal, then saying "That's not what I meant" then twisting the word of his opposition, thereby accusing them of strawmanning? The man who bases his entire stance upon sophomoric medieval arguments, the major proponents of which are Al- Ghazali and St. Bonaventure? Yeah.. Not impressed.
Australia is a CHRISTIAN country built on Christian morals and principles.
So atheists, explain the reason for your flash-in-the-pan existence - or are you just worthless pieces of shit here for the amusement of some non-existent nothing?
@PIREPvideos Nonstampcollector's lastest video debunks the argument that any country is built on Christian morals (don't watch if you're easily offended); /watch?v=tz3EEqtcJME
@PIREPvideos Yep, that's pretty much it. We did not exist prior to our birth, nor will we continue to exist after our death. We acknowledge that life is a brief and fascinating experience, and as such we try to make the most of it, rather than restrict ourselves in the blind hope that there is some sort of "wonderful" eternity waiting for us, for which there is no proof.
@Likwidify yes life is a great experience. but how can you say without proof that there is nothing else? so far i am in a debate with about 3 other people about all of this, but the things that keeps coming up is that there is a fact or 2 about a eternity, now i can not and i will not say that there will be one, but why not
@rosemarie443 The idea of an eternal afterlife came into existence around the same time when some people thought the earth was flat and others that the sun was being pulled across the sky by a god driving a chariot. These ideas have long been disproven, along with countless other claims that has made up the "sphere of the unknown", aka religion. But like Neil DeGrasse puts it 'if that is the case, then religion will become an ever-receding sphere of scientific ignorance'.
@Likwidify so you want to believe in science, well just don't forget God, he is there even if you don't want him to be. i didn't say anyithing about eternal afterlife only you did. you do know that there can be a God that helps you now and then, but my never give you a afterlife.
@rosemarie443 Again, like it is stated in this clip, religion is an ideology that tells you not to think and not to question. Science emerged from people doing the exact opposite. What has god ever given you? The only thing you can really argue is a moral code. However, MRI scanning has proved that when people are searching for morals, theists and atheist use the same part of their brain. If science on the other hand had not existed, you would've been dead 43 years ago.
@rosemarie443 a delusion is also there, even if the delusional person refuses to admit it. Are you delusional? If you claim you are not delusional, how can we determine if you are delusional or not. Can we test your claims against reality?
@MagnusNyborg well i can ask you the same question, are you delusional, can you prove to me that you are not? i don't think that i am delusional, i think that i have a very good outlook on the world as it is now. like i said before religion and darwin's words are all a theory. now test those claims
@rosemarie443 religion is not a theory, it is a fairytale. Noone ever observed how 'god did it'
Evolution is a _scientific_ theory, supported by a significant amount of evidence from fossil records and dna analysis. This is observed, and the observations are _facts_.
A delusional person will claim things that are different from what is observed. Where is the observation that 'god dunnit'? If there is no such observations, then you are either lying or being delusional.
@MagnusNyborg NO religion and science are both only a theory, now which theory do you want to believe? there are so many proofs that God is real and that the created the earth and eveything in it that i can not understand why you can not see it. i guess the reason is because you do not want to see it.
@rosemarie443 science have criteria for what is allowed to be called a theory, and religion fails to qualify.
The only people who claim religion is also a theory are some dumbass religious people with an invested selfinterest. But those can be dismissed as delusional.
@PIREPvideos So Australia supports slavery, then? The owning of women as property? The killing of unruly children? Forbids wearing cloth made out of two threads?
Those are christian principles. Deny it all you like, it's all in the bible.
Why do you assume there's some magical outside reason for our flash-in-the-pan existence? Why do you assume that lacking that means we're worthless?
And how the hell did you figure that "non-existent nothing" needs amusement, you moron?
@PIREPvideos Australia is not a christian country. I know very little people of any faith. Built on Christian values and principles? Well they did wipe out huge amounts of the original people here, the aboriginals.
Flash in the pan existence? Athiests have been around for ever, but would keep quiet as they can get killed by religeous zealots. Spanish inquisition anyone?
@realtyofislam Ohh yeah, guess who use to be in the forefront of knowledge & technology for 300 years between 800 -1100 AD? Islam. During that time Baghdad was the intellectual center of world. Because of Islam, 2/3 of all stars have Arabic names, we have algebra, astrolabes, etc. Then along came Hamid Al Ghazali who basically stopped advancement of Islamic knowledge. Why? Because if people are knowledgeable, then the clergy can't control them. The same thing we're now begining to see in the US
NO !!!!!! There is a very big difference between Science and Evolution. I know about scientific research and support Science. Atheists and evolutionist try to hide their LIES behind science. Science is the study of matters and they do practical research. But Evolution is a theory on paper only. Evolution is illusion based on ideas and thoughts. There is NO proof of FIRST LIFE in evolution. Scientist still trying to know the origin of First life. But evolutionists already started to believe.
@realtyofislam There's nothing to hide in science & science is always correcting itself, evolving with new discoveries everyday. Religions are the ones who create stagnant illusions to hide something, usually the truth. Centuries ago when man was totally ignorant, religion worked and explained the explainable & had unquestionable power over the masses. Today science explains more, gives us more than religion ever can and that SCARES the religious for more reason than I have room to explain
@realtyofislam Why would you use atheism and evolution in the same sentence? It is not connected directly. Atheism is alot older than the theory of evolution. The theory of evolution is the explanation of the fact of evolution, just like the theory of gravity is the explanation of the fact of gravity. The fact will stay the same but the theory will change. Besides evolution doesn't care about the start of life, only the change and development of it.
@realtyofislam You have no idea what evolution is. The theory of evolution deals with NATURAL SELECTION. no where it talks about origin of life. It DOESN'T deal with it. Yes evolution can be proven by ARTIFICIAL selection. Search for "silver fox". No it isn't only on paper because science is empiric. Every single discovery that came after (like the discovery of DNA) or the finds of ancient virus DNA sequences in OUR DNA only confirmed it. And no scientist could discredit it.
I believe that trying to answer the question of whether god exists or not is ridiculous, we could be spending our time and brain power wisely instead of on this issue.
@apelikepresident What if christianity was replaced by a religion that said God is in space and we have to go to him to be saved? We would be populating space by 2030!
What is the use of knowledge and scientific invention if we are dying every day before real death ? Worry, crime, uncertainty, fear, restlessness, hopeless, faithless are growing among us. Because we have removed God from our Schools, society, nation and individual life. Today world is more depressed than 300 years before. We need to submit our mind and heart in the hands of God then we can enjoy inventions of Science and life simultaneously. We need God buddy.
@realtyofislam You must be a fun guy to be around. I disagree with everything you have said. Welcome to the 21st century where some of us do not require a stoneage book of fairytales to guide us through life
@realtyofislam "Today world is more depressed than 300 years before." Yeah sure. 300 years ago without penicillin, anesthetics, chemotherapy, central heating, safe roads, or rights for women. Where fat preacher man could fiddle little kids with impunity and everyone would go to war over their god at the drop of a hat. Basically like the middle east today.
No thanks. We need god like we need a hole in the head.
@realtyofislam "What is the use of knowledge and scientific?" That has nothing at all as to why worry, crime, uncertainty, fear, restlessness, hopeless, faithless are growing among us. Those are all based on ignorance, greed, desires, guilt and fears. All of which have been around as long as mankind. Knowledge and science have only made us more aware than we once were and at least knowledge and science attempt to help us where religion wants to keep us forever in the dark.
@Bratcipheo My claim is absolutely correct. It's my typing that was screwed up. So I'll repost it above with the correct dates so that you can understand it correctly. .
@realtyofislam Some of the most atheist countries in the world include The Netherlands, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. These countries are also world leaders in education, low crime rate, and quality of life. We atheists are doing just fine. You and Christians can continue to fight each other to death...just leave us the fuck alone.
@BjornSeverinLarsen None are really atheist countries, I did not say that. What I was trying to say was that these are countries with the highest percentage of atheists people.
@TheJayWar Yeah sry. Missed the "most". And i believe that it is not atheist as such but more a personal kind of faith, which means that the dogma doesn't really matter and the religion is more based on a sense of tradition than on obedience. Ofcourse I could be wrong, but I'm danish and this is the experience I have of my own country
@vtorrieri "Dear atheist, you cannot see the forest for the trees"
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA Oh wow. You don't even grasp the meaning of that statement. Thanks for the laugh, and stay in school.
The Bible tells us that God is in the business of salvation. Though His wrath regarding sin is all too real as seen in the Fall and Flood judgments, we need not suffer it. Those who come to Him in repentance and faith will not be turned away (John 6:37). "For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) It is strange that people hate God, who loves so much.
@chadd990 clearly, because you don't even know how to spell it correctly, which demonstrates you haven't yet bothered to do your own research. (Cosmetology is the study and application of beauty treatment). Atheism does not need to be proven, it makes no claim. Do you believe in the tooth fairy? If you said "no" will you ask me to prove it to you? What if that does not satisfy your burden of proof? It is up to the one who claims that the tooth fairy exists to prove it. This applies to God, too.
wait, so cosmetology is the study of beauty? Then why did Carl Sagan make it seem like it had something to do with the stars? you know, like the cosmos. Man, this stuff is confusing. I'm only ten and I go to a christian school. I don't learn about this stuff.
@chadd990 if you are attending a christian school in the same way I did, you will notice that they teach you in one way and they really really want you to believe them, and they tricked me in many ways. The best way to learn is to read a book by Richard Dawkins called "the magic of reality". It's easy to read and explains everything with evidence from real scientific studies conducted by real scientists that aren't trying to trick you into believing something just because "the bible says so".
@ramzevans Yo, since this carlton banks nigga Degrasse T. B down with "my man" Sir Isaac Nootin, I'ma drop some Science on his oreo ass fo' sho. Then U gon' know tha Big Bang aint real, fo' real.
Fool, check this out:
1. Nootin's First Law of Motion in Yo' Ocean: "Don't nuttin dat B doin' nuttin can do no nuttin, ya heard?" Then how tha Big Bang gon' blow up? Yeeeah.
2. Nootin's Other-Ass Law: "Fo' e'ery action jackson, they gots 2 B equal & opposeet reaction, ai'ght?" No gravitizzle. Damn!
@caesarves haha, ali-g hasn't got shit on you man, you might be havin fun doing this on youtube, but you should honestly make an ali-g style video and start interviewing people in that way. I would buy it.
@caesarves u gots it wrong nicca, cosmology theorists combined wif da observations o' they astronomy colleagues gots been able 2 reconstruct dat primordial chronology of events known as da big bang. da Big Bang model dat attempts 2 explain da origin an' structure o' da universe incorporates da talents of a whole lotta individuals through da course a mo than 150 years study mang, n u gon run yo big ass mouth at erybody who belie dat be the TRUTH nigga? Shit nigga you is one angry mafukka.
Something indescribable does not necessarily mean that it is made by god, and likewise something that is describable does not strip it of any divine nature nor does it prove that it is not created by God.
My belief is that God designed this extremely complex process and gave us the tools to understand & develop it. I do not believe God actively controls every single thing that happens.
There are enough resources in the world for every one yet some people are still poor, and others filthy rich.
@9KoubA2 "I do not believe God actively controls every single thing that happens." If you're a deist or pan-deist, that's a very different conception of God than theism. Most atheists aren't directing their arguments at deists - to my knowledge most deists embrace/accept humanism and the fruits of empiricism.
My belief is that God designed this extremely complex process and gave us the tools to understand & develop it. I do not believe God actively controls every single thing that happens.
Basically, I'm opposing what they said in the video about religions in general explaining whatever cannot be understood at the time by 'God did it, no need to pursue it further'.
@thisisgrey I rarely find those things, because the quraan is mainly a guidebook on how to live life, not a science book. What it DOES have however are descriptions of nature and natural processes from the perspective of a viewer of these phenomena; in other words some of them are not meant to be scientifically accurate. As for some of the more direct things, like the infamous embryology "contradiction", i find these things have been refuted countless times and end up not being a contradiction.
@thisisgrey Regardless, I do not believe in god and the quraan because there was a verse which described a "scientific miracle" which I find that it's amazing since nobody had the knowledge 1400 years ago etc - I believe in Islam because of how well it teaches me to treat myself and the others around me.
You see most contradictions happen due to specific wording used in a translation. This is why there is so much emphasis on the original quraan in arabic - as a translation is not the real thing
@9KoubA2 " because there was a verse which described a "scientific miracle" which I find that it's amazing since nobody had the knowledge 1400 years ago etc" If you are interested in challenging your perspective on the scientific miracles please check out the youtube channels; therationalizer, klingschor, and theislammiracle. Check out a video I made about the Quran /watch?v=rv_2HgdXi7c
@strangestdude Um, I think you misunderstood and I didn't clarify. What i meant was that it's not these so called 'scientific miracles' that are the basis for my belief. At all. Which is why it doesn't make a difference if someone disproves them. And even if, most of these people's arguments are refuted on various forums. Therationalizer especially is sneaky; he builds his entire argument on an assumption which appears logical, when in actual fact from a different perspective it is not.
@strangestdude I'm sure if you spend some time you'll find these refutations. The problem is that some muslims claim that some of these things are miracles and build this entire argument on why it's a miracle etc. etc. simply out of their own perspective. Then, when they are refuted, it gives the presumption that the entire quraan is refuted when in actual fact, what was refuted was someone's, unfortunately, ignorant argument.
@9KoubA2 The 'refutations' I've come across involve simply evoking another interpretation as the 'true' interpretation, or strawmanning those guys. The verses didn't contain enough detail to facilitate the discovery of any correlating scientific theories by muslims, so they evidently and rationally are too vague to be correlated to any scientific discovery - yet that's exactly what muslim apologists do. Please stop promoting the 'miracles' to ignorant people.
@therealjammit If they completely deny his existence as a possiblity, then maybe they'll never find God. Then again, there's the whole "Intelligent Design" argument, so I guess we'll wait and see how it goes. Maybe if in the future scientists discover that the need for an intelligent designer would fill a certain gap, that they could start acknowledging a possible existence of god.
There's a great website which discusses these issues - Seemyparadigm.webs.com
@therealjammit Thank you for respecting my views and not asking me any of the common questions/arguments like "If god exists then show me proof" or "if god exists why is there hunger/pain in the world" etc.
@9KoubA2 I understand your pain, but the only time I bring out the "prove it" or "if there is a god, then why (insert something)" is when fundamentalists insist on putting creationism or forced prayer in school, government positions, etc. without realizing the need for proof or understanding of other religious beliefs. I'm sure a Muslim or Jew really wouldn't like Christian faith based education.
really people don't destroy this world PLZ do not kill all that is
atheism is worst then fashisum and comunisum !
plz don't suport this people just cuz you don't study enuff antient history to know why nature has rulez . There is no chaos in nature there is chaos in the mind of an individual who believes in a chaotic universe that "by chance" suports us.
@LeReVaQ I understood what you wrote perfectly well, but still doesn't explain your random reply to one of my comments aimed at caesarves who is trolling.
@LeReVaQ and if you're going to pedantically correct me on a technicality, whereby I misused the word "proof" to describe proof obtained FROM a telescope via observation, and inform me as if I am retarded that the telescope is an instrument, and does not constitute proof by itself, I may as well say that there is no such thing as a "singularium," the word you were looking for is "singularity". But let's not get pedantic, it's pretty lame.
Yo who B tha arrogant nigga at 1:30? He been hangin roud whitey too long, U can tell cuz he got Oreo hi-pitched white soundin voice. He talkin like a cracka, athiests B white supremacistz tryna get ridda god so dat then they B tha supremo, y'all bitchez

@caesarves atheists aren't anything except people who base their assumptions on the (lack of) a god or gods on evidence and rational thinking. An educated black person is not an "arrogant nigga". The Bible contains a guide to slavery, which I'm sure you've read. These same verses constituted the rationale behind the enslavement of Africans ripped from the motherland and shipped like CATTLE. You SICK HORRIBLE RACIST PIG calling a learned black man of character an "arrogant nigga". Fuck you.
@ramzevans This nigga aint B no ejukated nigga, he just B brainwashed by whitey supremo KKK sekla hoomanist atheist punkz 2 hate hisself. Yo tha Bible B bout how Moses married some o' dat Ethiopian ass & B freein tha slaves straight outta Egyptizzle. It B tha "Enlightnement" era atheistic & deistic whitey who B makin niggaz slaves & only tha christiano B abolishuning our black asses. This Degrasse High on crack B inna dat bitch-ass Euro fagget ideologizzle dat B atheism. U tha racist mo' fukkaz
@caesarves He doesn't hate himself. He's a well known and well respected man. Next you'll be saying that any black person who chooses to question religion is a self-hating man on crack. Well, if that is what you think, then keep believing that, it's your choice.
@ramzevans arrogant nigga. this is to sad .what world we live in . total materializum and lack of morals.
atheist are trully sick people I am so sad to find how much people support stupid belief like evolutioin but can't suport true love and morals :D .crazy world O wonder
@cybersaur no my friend to be atheist is to be total materialist . you must be stupid or poorly educated to speak like this so i forgive your irgnorance. if you have no belief in the most high( not book not a fictional being but a devine plan ) then your life has no value .
don't you get it .Atheism is even stupid cuz yuo can't prove that I am girl cuz you don't have any prove that i am a boy !
finallly you should read mroe books you will see that atheism is the NWO new wepon !
@cybersaur don't you see that Atheism is so popular now cuz it makes you consume more ! If there is no life after death then why should you do good , just consume more and more. Al this people are paid to speak bullshit is new form of marketing of materializm.
People in Egypt believed in the after life. They made the piramids .We believe in materializm .What will we leave after us? Child pornography , atom bomb ,Hitler , Stalin etc etc etc. If you think atheism is fun u are idiot
@cybersaur oh u are from the UK.... sorry my friend your nation is alrdy brainwashed . I hve seen how you comics are paid to play to speak against God and religion , an this people are masons who belief in the most high .Is a set up you are in a trap . save your self. I have no religion but I belive in the most high .Atheism is made on the bases of theosophy and materializum/cosumers ideals.
I will give you a link to a video you watch it and come back tell me if u are still atheist?
@mastakur Your argument consists of no evidence to suggest the bible tells the truth, instead you just decide to insult me. Don't call me ignorant if you can't even spell the word.
Oh, and I spent 13 years of my life going to religious schools, I am very well educated in what the bible says, I've also seen enough evidence to suggest it is all bullshit- and your petty arguments aren't going to change anyone.
@caesarves and last time i checked the KKK were using religion as their proof that there should be racial segregation. Ever heard of the burning cross? Yep that's right, white supremacists are Christians. I speak for all educated black people round the world who have had to put up with racism and in addition, have to put up with religious indoctrination from a young age. FUCK YOU AND THE NASTY BITCH THAT GAVE BIRTH TO YOU.
@ramzevans Yo U aint no nigga, U just som'ody playin nigga & U aint ejukated cuz then U B knowin dat athiest Hitler & Stalin whitey's whack-ass monkey theory dont e'en B Science. Yo check it: I B droppin science on yo' fake nigga ass: cant no random-ass mutato B shakin & bakin out no speciationizzle, dat just sec'lar hoomanist whack-ass ideologizzle, aint noboy foolin' this nigga. U gots a dirrty mouth sucka, I'ma throw it 2 tha ground 'f I eva catch yo' non-nigga cracka honky bitch ass.
morals are thought and learned, we are not born with them and most western morals came from the bible, like love your neighbor as yourself, turn the other cheek, forgiveness etc. very selfish ideas right?
@spartandx Lets not forget that Buddha said lover your neighbor as yourself, turn the other cheek, and taught forgivenes and was an athiest 500 years before christ and during the time when the Israelites were still chasing clouds in the desert.
@MrCharwiz you mean chasing reason, law and enlightenment in god. correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't buddha searching for enlightenment, so is no surprise to me that jesus and buddha have the same ideas
i never noticed that sound track in the background is the same one that was used in the movie 'contact' once jodie foster is on the beach visiting her 'dad.' cool!
Love the compilation (especially the Sagan clips). I don't care for the name. The people I'd like to share it with are not complete idiots and I wouldn't want to imply it.
Only a REAL FOOL would claim there is no God! Man creates awesome skyscrapers, fake hearts, tunnels, vehicles etc.. If we are very imperfect then what more can God create THE UNIVERSE! You must accept Jesus Christ as your Savior to receive eternal rest in heaven! Simple! John 3:16 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him! Repent & accept Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ or HELL?!? Visit cbn. com
I love Carl Sagan and all, but I am saddened by his cue card reading. This video is worthless without the all mighty don Michiu Kaku. His Reality analogies make all these slow passionate talkers boring.
The angry and despising looks on the face of Sir David Attenborough is classical. The interviewer was not asking a question, he was making a surreptitious statement.

The universe does not care about your logic.
Human logic is limited and understanding is not very intuitive for humans. That is why we have to revert to maths to understand the universe that goes beyond the human logic and intuition.

If by "impervious" you mean imminently evasive in answering questing you are correct...oh yeah, plus the lack of any real evidence. If you belief(in old testament since the big 3 like that book) it says that god created life b4 light. strangestdude 4 days ago 6
Likwidify 4 days ago
@Likwidify yes life is a great experience. but how can you say without proof that there is nothing else? so far i am in a debate with about 3 other people about all of this, but the things that keeps coming up is that there is a fact or 2 about a eternity, now i can not and i will not say that there will be one, but why not
rosemarie443 3 days ago
@rosemarie443 The idea of an eternal afterlife came into existence around the same time when some people thought the earth was flat and others that the sun was being pulled across the sky by a god driving a chariot. These ideas have long been disproven, along with countless other claims that has made up the "sphere of the unknown", aka religion. But like Neil DeGrasse puts it 'if that is the case, then religion will become an ever-receding sphere of scientific ignorance'.
Likwidify 3 days ago

If science on the other hand had not existed, you would've been dead 43 years ago.

rosemarie443 1 day ago
@rosemarie443 religion is not a theory, it is a fairytale. Noone ever observed how 'god did it'
Evolution is a _scientific_ theory, supported by a significant amount of evidence from fossil records and dna analysis. This is observed, and the observations are _facts_.
A delusional person will claim things that are different from what is observed. Where is the observation that 'god dunnit'? If there is no such observations, then you are either lying or being delusional.
MagnusNyborg 1 day ago
@MagnusNyborg NO religion and science are both only a theory, now which theory do you want to believe? there are so many proofs that God is real and that the created the earth and eveything in it that i can not understand why you can not see it. i guess the reason is because you do not want to see it.
rosemarie443 13 hours ago

Because if people are knowledgeable, then the clergy can't control them. The same thing we're now begining to see in the US

NO !!!!!! There is a very big difference between Science and Evolution. I know about scientific research and support Science. Atheists and evolutionist try to hide their LIES behind science. Science is the study of matters and they do practical research. But Evolution is a theory on paper only. Evolution is illusion based on ideas and thoughts. There is NO proof of FIRST LIFE in evolution. Scientist still trying to know the origin of First life. But evolutionists already started to believe.
realtyofislam 4 days ago
@realtyofislam There's nothing to hide in science & science is always correcting itself, evolving with new discoveries everyday. Religions are the ones who create stagnant illusions to hide something, usually the truth. Centuries ago when man was totally ignorant, religion worked and explained the explainable & had unquestionable power over the masses. Today science explains more, gives us more than religion ever can and that SCARES the religious for more reason than I have room to explain
coyoteself 4 days ago
@realtyofislam Why would you use atheism and evolution in the same sentence? It is not connected directly. Atheism is alot older than the theory of evolution. The theory of evolution is the explanation of the fact of evolution, just like the theory of gravity is the explanation of the fact of gravity. The fact will stay the same but the theory will change. Besides evolution doesn't care about the start of life, only the change and development of it.
BjornSeverinLarsen 4 days ago
@realtyofislam You have no idea what evolution is. The theory of evolution deals with NATURAL SELECTION. no where it talks about origin of life. It DOESN'T deal with it. Yes evolution can be proven by ARTIFICIAL selection. Search for "silver fox". No it isn't only on paper because science is empiric. Every single discovery that came after (like the discovery of DNA) or the finds of ancient virus DNA sequences in OUR DNA only confirmed it. And no scientist could discredit it.

This applies to God, too.

9KoubA2 1 week ago
@9KoubA2 "I do not believe God actively controls every single thing that happens." If you're a deist or pan-deist, that's a very different conception of God than theism. Most atheists aren't directing their arguments at deists - to my knowledge most deists embrace/accept humanism and the fruits of empiricism.
strangestdude 1 week ago
@strangestdude I'm a muslim, but I still hold these views because Islam encourages muslims to research and understand about the world god has created.

@strangestdude Um, these views:

Basically, I'm opposing what they said in the video about religions in general explaining whatever cannot be understood at the time by 'God did it, no need to pursue it further'.
9KoubA2 1 week ago
@9KoubA2 What if while searching for knowledge you find an evidence that contradicts what is written in the Quran?
thisisgrey 1 week ago
@thisisgrey I rarely find those things, because the quraan is mainly a guidebook on how to live life, not a science book. What it DOES have however are descriptions of nature and natural processes from the perspective of a viewer of these phenomena; in other words some of them are not meant to be scientifically accurate. As for some of the more direct things, like the infamous embryology "contradiction", i find these things have been refuted countless times and end up not being a contradiction.
9KoubA2 6 days ago
@thisisgrey Regardless, I do not believe in god and the quraan because there was a verse which described a "scientific miracle" which I find that it's amazing since nobody had the knowledge 1400 years ago etc - I believe in Islam because of how well it teaches me to treat myself and the others around me.
You see most contradictions happen due to specific wording used in a translation. This is why there is so much emphasis on the original quraan in arabic - as a translation is not the real thing
9KoubA2 6 days ago
@9KoubA2 Just a clarification for anyone who doesn't know:
Allah = God in the arabic language. This word is also used in the arabic translation of the bible, so it's not only used in Islam.
Quraan = Holy book in the Islamic religion. It acknowledges the original versions of the bible and torah, not the translated versions nowadays.
Islam = A religion followed by 2.2billion people in the world, only 15% of which are arabs.
Peace :)
9KoubA2 6 days ago
@9KoubA2 " because there was a verse which described a "scientific miracle" which I find that it's amazing since nobody had the knowledge 1400 years ago etc" If you are interested in challenging your perspective on the scientific miracles please check out the youtube channels; therationalizer, klingschor, and theislammiracle. Check out a video I made about the Quran /watch?v=rv_2HgdXi7c
strangestdude 6 days ago
@strangestdude Um, I think you misunderstood and I didn't clarify. What i meant was that it's not these so called 'scientific miracles' that are the basis for my belief. At all. Which is why it doesn't make a difference if someone disproves them. And even if, most of these people's arguments are refuted on various forums. Therationalizer especially is sneaky; he builds his entire argument on an assumption which appears logical, when in actual fact from a different perspective it is not.
9KoubA2 6 days ago
@strangestdude I'm sure if you spend some time you'll find these refutations. The problem is that some muslims claim that some of these things are miracles and build this entire argument on why it's a miracle etc. etc. simply out of their own perspective. Then, when they are refuted, it gives the presumption that the entire quraan is refuted when in actual fact, what was refuted was someone's, unfortunately, ignorant argument.
This goes with some, not all
9KoubA2 6 days ago
@9KoubA2 The 'refutations' I've come across involve simply evoking another interpretation as the 'true' interpretation, or strawmanning those guys. The verses didn't contain enough detail to facilitate the discovery of any correlating scientific theories by muslims, so they evidently and rationally are too vague to be correlated to any scientific discovery - yet that's exactly what muslim apologists do. Please stop promoting the 'miracles' to ignorant people.
strangestdude 6 days ago
@9KoubA2 If I understand you correctly, if scientists look for answers without using god, then the last thing they'll find is god.
therealjammit 1 week ago
@therealjammit If they completely deny his existence as a possiblity, then maybe they'll never find God. Then again, there's the whole "Intelligent Design" argument, so I guess we'll wait and see how it goes. Maybe if in the future scientists discover that the need for an intelligent designer would fill a certain gap, that they could start acknowledging a possible existence of god.
There's a great website which discusses these issues - Seemyparadigm.webs.com
Check it out :)

@9KoubA2 I understand your pain, but the only time I bring out the "prove it" or "if there is a god, then why (insert something)" is when fundamentalists insist on putting creationism or forced prayer in school, government positions, etc. without realizing the need for proof or understanding of other religious beliefs. caesarves 1 week ago
Fuck you.

caesarves 1 week ago
@caesarves He doesn't hate himself. He's a well known and well respected man. Next you'll be saying that any black person who chooses to question religion is a self-hating man on crack. Well, if that is what you think, then keep believing that, it's your choice.

atheist are trully sick people I am so sad to find how much people support stupid belief like evolutioin but can't suport true love and morals :D .crazy world O wonder
mastakur 1 week ago
@mastakur You can have love and morals without worshipping a fictional being from a book made over 2000 years ago.
cybersaur 1 week ago
@cybersaur no my friend to be atheist is to be total materialist . you must be stupid or poorly educated to speak like this so i forgive your irgnorance. if you have no belief in the most high( not book not a fictional being but a devine plan ) then your life has no value .
don't you get it .Atheism is even stupid cuz yuo can't prove that I am girl cuz you don't have any prove that i am a boy !
finallly you should read mroe books you will see that atheism is the NWO new wepon !
mastakur 1 week ago
@cybersaur don't you see that Atheism is so popular now cuz it makes you consume more ! If there is no life after death then why should you do good , just consume more and more. Al this people are paid to speak bullshit is new form of marketing of materializm.
People in Egypt believed in the after life. They made the piramids .We believe in materializm .What will we leave after us? Child pornography , atom bomb ,Hitler , Stalin etc etc etc. If you think atheism is fun u are idiot
mastakur 1 week ago
@cybersaur oh u are from the UK.... sorry my friend your nation is alrdy brainwashed . I hve seen how you comics are paid to play to speak against God and religion , an this people are masons who belief in the most high .Is a set up you are in a trap . save your self. I have no religion but I belive in the most high .Atheism is made on the bases of theosophy and materializum/cosumers ideals.
I will give you a link to a video you watch it and come back tell me if u are still atheist?
mastakur 1 week ago
@mastakur Your argument consists of no evidence to suggest the bible tells the truth, instead you just decide to insult me. Don't call me ignorant if you can't even spell the word.
Oh, and I spent 13 years of my life going to religious schools, I am very well educated in what the bible says, I've also seen enough evidence to suggest it is all bullshit- and your petty arguments aren't going to change anyone.
cybersaur 1 week ago
@caesarves and last time i checked the KKK were using religion as their proof that there should be racial segregation. Ever heard of the burning cross? Yep that's right, white supremacists are Christians. I speak for all educated black people round the world who have had to put up with racism and in addition, have to put up with religious indoctrination from a young age. FUCK YOU AND THE NASTY BITCH THAT GAVE BIRTH TO YOU.

morals are thought and learned, we are not born with them and most western morals came from the bible, like love your neighbor as yourself, turn the other cheek, forgiveness etc. very selfish ideas right?
spartandx 1 week ago
@spartandx Lets not forget that Buddha said lover your neighbor as yourself, turn the other cheek, and taught forgivenes and was an athiest 500 years before christ and during the time when the Israelites were still chasing clouds in the desert.

@MrCharwiz you mean chasing reason, law and enlightenment in god. correct me if i'm wrong but wasn't buddha searching for enlightenment, so is no surprise to me that jesus and buddha have the same ideas

I love Carl Sagan and all, but I am saddened by his cue card reading. This video is worthless without the all mighty don Michiu Kaku. His Reality analogies make all these slow passionate talkers boring.
