These are some of the best people, meaning the people in the Prophets s.a.w time and the two generations after that. When the hadith states there status, then those same fiqh ikram state the status of sufism. read the musnad of Ahmed Ibn Hanbal and the work of Imam Malik. The qalbi dhikr is mentioned in Sahih Muslim, Tirmidhi shareef and Quran. I will give references if you want.
