  • PURE ANGOLA!

  • viva me Mestre Cobra Mansa.

  • This game shows Capoeira Angola's every aspect. I love it.One of the best games I've ever seen. Axé from Orlando :)

  • pretty cool to see Angola like this , Ive been being taught a very robotic restrictive regional form here in Canada with "moves" and a wrong and right way of doing everything ... PSHHHH

  • Awesome Roda!

  • definitely one of the best games on Youtube

  • I love the angola, i like cobra mansa´s hair, I love capoeira. Muito Axe.

  • this is angola?

  • When was this game?

  • best game ever i have seen!"

  • y todavia conozco gente que se pregunta si la capoeira angola es efectiva... e insisten en porner nombres a los estilos, mas aya del concepto ahi esta una demostracion ...

  • very few can play at the level of the great cobra mansa. i take my hat of to e.p

    muito axe!

    oscar

  • that being said, mirim is a lightning quick chap too! mark mark mark... love this game!

  • 1:26:45, 1:26:50, 1:26:52, 1:26:53, 1:26:54 (twice!)... amazing, and it's the same story throughout. Cobra Mansa lets nothing slip by...

  • jogo bonito!!

  • Beautiful game... :D

  • This is a great game, but danilothf posted this video already a while ago. Not to be a stickler, but when multiple users post the same video it waters down the ratings and favorites making it less like for capoeiristas and others to see it.

  • I couldn't agree more with you about the latter.

Not to be a stickler, but you kinda don't know how to read the upload date. Danilothf jacked this from me.

  • Sorry- that's my bad. Thanks for posting.

  • BURN

  • @chirodiesel shes not a tickler for a stickler?

  • These jogadores are amazing!

  • So beautiful jogo!!!! angola is nice play :)great skill, frakin awesome!

  • los estan cambiando de cuerda o k pedo?

  • son los dos mestres , lee la info pedorro

  • Camo Macacu :):D

  • Can someone tell me where Mestre Cobra Mansa teaches at.

  • brazil currently. he still visits D.C. pretty regularly though.

  • By any chance is that the same one who teaches on 7th street in DC? Or somewhere downtown? Coincidentally two friends, not knowing neither knew the other well enough to say, told me of the same gentleman teaching. I'll have to ask of the location again.

  • Yes, that's the same guy. If you google mestre cobra mansa, you'll find his website. =)

  • Why thank you. Speaking of which, I see b-boy in your name, leading me to the somewhat obvious, providing that I am reading it correctly. If you do not mind me asking, did you by any chance learn breaking in the district as well? If so, I've been looking for some place to wise up on it since my diploma years back.

  • Bueno bueno.

    Me gustó.

  • Mestre Cobra plays really nice. AXÉ!!! (Y)

  • These videos are the shit they invoke old school abservation and imitation. I loves it. CM is the SHITTTTT!!!!

  • mestre cobra is my mestre this week, it's a very nice mestre !!

  • Chirodiesel's capoeira videos were the first practical application of Youtube for me. I've watched this over and over.

  • this is awesome!!!

  • Cobrinha e o melhor angolero do momento, nao tem iguaL..

  • Hmmm I'm just wondering how much the diverse styles within capoeira, allows for an overlap, since it is a dynamic martial art form, so you have to expect changes within and how much does it allow external influences integrate within the diversity of styles? Nice, 'natural' looking vid though Thanx & ache

  • Magnifico

  • it looks (to me) more like bengula more than angola (i dont know if i wrote it right:))

    axe muzenza

  • Benguela? No no no.

Watch the game, listen to the berimbau.

  • amazing..... very intense game

  • Joga bonita que eu quero ver.

  • Nice vid of great capoeira!

  • great game! it would have been better if Espirro played his own style of regional instead of trying to play angola.

  • Whah?? That's pure Espirro style.

  • It's true, he's just playing his game. That's why it's so sweet. This one is definitely for the favorites.

  • hes way to badass to just stick with regional..let him do as he pleases..hes one of the greatest.

  • If any pair of players can play a game so fluid and bright, I wouldn't chance anything.

  • Amazing! Where is Mestre Cobra Mansa based? How can he be reached?

  • FICA out of washington DC

  • I have no clue what the hell is going on right here but its pretty cool.

  • jogo de gigantes!

  • I'm gonna take classes in capoeira starting next month. I think it's awesome how they effortlessly do these moves that require lots of strength.

  • As always Mestre Cobra Mansa impresses, but I was particularly impressed with Mestre Espirro. I've seen him play alot of fast paced acrobatic games, but this is the first time I ever saw him play an angolian game. Cobra is the Man, but Espirro is no punk either.

  • Wow! Youtube has everything! I haven't seen capoeira since I was in The Artist Collective!

  • This is real figting!!

  • Espirro Mirim is the name of the Mestre going against Mestre Cobra Mansa. Cobra Mansa got famous through out Brazil during the eighties travelling to different cities and showing capoeira angola to all the regional groups, at that time, very few people were practicing angola, that´s the begining of capoeira angola´s revival, and the end of all prejudism and false conceptions about capoeira angola, he shows how real and objective it really is, we all owe GCAP Mestres for it.

  • angola is the way

  • I dont really understand Capoeira or know much about it...but I thought this was cool to watch. =]

  • What Mestre Espiro does when Cobra tries to shapa him... incredible evasion there.

  • this is capoeira the real capoeira ;)

  • Personally, I prefer Regional, but Angola is beautiful as well.

  • Hey! I remember this song from my first ever capoeira class. I lived in Brazil because my dad is from Brazil, but I never got into capoeira when my brothers did. Now I wish I taken the chance, plus most classes are free for kids in Brazil lol. anyway yeh great video, Angola is just a better martial art than regional... if it wasn't then the Brazilian police would catch most people, with no problem or fear of getting their ass kicked.

  • Cobra's my fav mestre, I love seeing him play and Marrim got swallowed up, wow.

First song was great, anyone know what it's called?

  • It's: Quem vem là, sou eu

    Quem vem là, sou eu

    Berimbau bateu,

    Capoeira, sou eu

    Then

    Da, da, da no nego

    And to finish

    Ola, ola eee

quero ver bater, quero ver cair, etc...

  • Oups, I forgot the last one: Xo, xo, meu canario!

  • Cobrinha Mansa Grande(big) angoleiro!!!

  • Eles estão fora do ritmo!

  • viva capoeira angola.

yo jogo angola en mexico saludos

    ::

  • Capoeira is purely Brazilian. Capoeira is a word from Tupi language (native brazilian indians), which means vegetation that grows after putting a forest down. It was never born in Africa. It was created here in Brazil by african slaves. Try travelling to Angola and asking if they know Capoeira.

We have 2 styles, Capoeira Angola and Regional.

Capoeira was not brought, it was born in Brazil.

  • Who ever you uare you are soooo mistaken! CAPOEIRA (ANGOLA) comes from the ancient spiritual syatem of NGOLO. I would tell you more but then I would be doing all of your research for you. You sound so sure of yourself by denying Capoeira Angola its true Angola Roots. Paz & Amor...Omali

  • you beat me to the punch ;)

  • Absolutely wrong. Capoeira comes directly from Angola, africa, from a martial called, surprise! Engolo! It is documented. It was brought intact by slaves and only transformed through stylization.

  • Mestre Cobra Mansa is the real deal...anyone who wants to know what capoeira angola is all about, just watch him play.

  • Both are amazing, but mestre cobra mansa is in a different class - Angoleiro de verdade!

  • Capoeira is always beautiful. This is a great show of the versatility of angola.

  • I love it.

  • whoever keeps screeching during the video needs a slap.

  • Nice vid and its nice to see a mestre of regional playing at the same level as a mestre de angola... Like mestre Cajaquinha(I think thats how you write it) There is only 1 capoeira style can change but the birimbau decides if you play standing up or on the ground :D

  • M. espirro is not a regional mestre.

  • In this video we really can see that Capoeira Angola can be very fast when it wants!

  • I've been watching a couple of these capoeira video's and I'm beginning to understand a bit more of what's going on. It's pretty incredible the element that the constant feinting has, you get used to having a dynamic blind spot which is so necessary, first to address your perception of danger. And then to always be prepared to strike while off balance, and to always keep multiple exit paths. It's a beautiful matial art.

  • you got it!

  • Aside from saying the clip is awesome, I sooo want dreads like that! lol

  • This is truly an awesome capoeira clip. Thanks for putting it here! :P

  • Cobra Mansa is nasty.. look at 1:27 and he almost knocks over Espirro. Cobrinha's awesome, one of my favorite mestres.

  • Yes. But that's not the point: in capoeira you don't stand on your hands to give stronger blows. You do it to lure the opponent into thinking you're in a weak position.

  • can you really deliver any blows with significant force while standing on your hands?

  • to the knees and groin, mainly....yes. only takes 60 lbs of pressure to break a knee.

  • damn... cobra mansa is Effin fresh!

  • This is a serious video. The beginning of this video is just plain NASTY. If I was there I probably would have lost my mind. I'm a Regoional practitioner and it makes me crack up to see that every video with angola vs regional, the regional practitioner gets made a fool of, lol. Angoleiros are sneaky as hell.

  • wow. i love watching this everyday. where can i get this video?

  • Awesome! Espirro is amazing, as per usual.

  • beautiful...

  • great performance indeed, thanks for sharing this to us ^_^

  • Great angola video, thank you for posting this! Cobra mansa is a dangerous man... :-P

  • You never realise how much strentgh you need for capoeira angola (or regional, for those that don't know regional is the fast paced more standing up and more flip style)until you try lol! I used to think regional was the best but now i see how amazing angola is (although i like both styles, though reigonal looks kler to the untrained person).

  • Best Angola video, hands down.

  • The two Mestres in this video clip are Mestre Cobra Mansa(man with dreads) and Mestre Espirro Mirim. This game was at the 1995 Capoeira Encounter organized by Mestre Marcelo in San Francisco. I have seen the video and this game is one of my favorites, Mestre Marcelo is my teacher and i have met with Mestre Espirro Mirim

  • this is retarded

  • Who is who?

  • Errr....do u know were in Malaysia can i learn Capoeire pls tell me....

  • go to the website www.capoeirista.com and you can find if there are any capoeira centers near where you live in malaysia

  • Man, Espiro is a great man. Had the honor of meeting him twice. This is my fav video of all time. Thanks!

  • yea that is Espiro

  • i love it

  • such a nice jogo... thx for posting this one.

  • beautiful...

    truely an art of movement

  • yes, yes, yes...Always a pleasure to see Mestre Cobra Mansa in action....Thanks for this one ...
