I've had this album for 2 days now . . . and I must say i find it to be one of the best jazz albums I have ever heard. Boz "becomes" the lead instrument, be it trombone, clarinet, trumpet or sax. His vocal emerges from, as opposed to floating above the music. The extraordinary talent that went in to the making of this classic found just the right tunes, treatments, arrangements, and overall sound of this collection of musical jewels. I can't stress too much how impressed I am with this album

I couldn't agree more. This was a true revelation for me. It scores on so many points. Scaggs unique vocal quality, the elegance and taste of the performances, the song selection, the great Goldstein arrangements, and the all round excellence of the musicianship. 5 stars!

This guy is awesome. I've followed his career since the 70's, and he never disappoints. He is a true musician who can stretch across several genres and has a great deal of longevity which speaks to his talent. This album is great.

How excellent is this! Bravo to Boz, Gil and all concerned.I had never appreciated until now just how much of an artist and supreme vocalist Boz is. So many highlights but Ballad of the Sad young Men is really emotional--very moving. Congratulations again!

But Beautiful is one of my favorite CDs... Boz was made to sing these songs... it flows out naturally. I am so excited that the new CD is FINALLY out!!!

WOW! Love Boz Scaggs! so glad I found this video I wanted to see this tour but cant make the dates. If he looks and sounds half as good live as does here, it's bound to be a great show. So glad he decided to do another record of standards! Now for the third!
