There are some obvious similarities to 'Cheers' and 'Mr Ed' but mostly, it's meant to be a parody of 'My Mother The Car.' Which was an obscure and critically panned sitcom from 1965 that only lasted 13 episodes.

It was about a lawyer who buys an old classic car that, as the title suggests, is inhabited by the ghost of his dead Mother. As premises go, it's pretty weird. Does that help?

I know, right? It was also incredibly shit and is often listed as one of the worst sitcoms ever made. I watched the first episode on YouTube. You can totally see why it's so hated!
