Too true, I was snorkeling without fins trying not to breathe, you should see the 50+ high resolution photos I took. You'd be breathing hard too if you were swimming 30 ft from grey hound busses, that is how big they appear.
No, even few free divers can snorkel to 400 ft. I said they were swimming down 400 ft in the water and then back up to the surface. We are in 400 ft of water or so.

i love to swim but if i saw them and heard there noises it would be very scary for some reason whale noises freak me out

Please tell me that was a typo! There is no way that someone can snorkel at 400+ ft. I just bought the Olympus 770 and it is only guaranteed to 33ft.
