Many years ago, There was a flooding in my home area about 1/2 metres in height. I went to the school and when I came back to the house.
My mom said the king came here. Without any notice, nobody knows he will come to this small street to take care people who are suffering from flooding.
After that, a dam was built to protect us from severe flooding. The streets were renovated higher. And people around here are happier nowadays.

Anyone who brainless comments on Thai people reaction to the King or has narrow-visioned understanding in leste majeste in Thailand should be noted or overhauled his way of though. One culture is absolutely not the world culture. Thai people love free speech but they ignore criticizing the King. It is not by the law but by their in-depth spirit and hearts. Many years ago, There was a flooding in my home area about 1/2 metres in height. I went to the school and when I came back to the house.
My mom said the king came here. Without any notice, nobody knows he will come to this small street to take care people who are suffering from flooding.
After that, a dam was built to protect us from severe flooding. The streets were renovated higher. And people around here are happier nowadays.

4. Today, the Bangkok Post reports: The leaders of the Democrat and TRT parties will now work together to amend the new Constitution to increase its acceptance. The election of a new democratic Thai government will take place 16 December. Thaksin has reportedly not yet commented, but he has serious charges against him in Thai courts, and he will now need to deal with the Thai judiciary rather than the Thai government.

That quote properly states that the total assets of CPB, not its revenues, are US$ 5 Billion. The Bangkok Post reports 58% of voters approved the new Thai Constitution - including a majority of voters in all regions of Thailand except the Northeast. 62% of Northeast voters opposed the Constitution, as did a majority of voters in a few provinces in the North - areas where the TRT party was strong and effective. Today, the Bangkok Posts reports that an overwhelming majority of Thai voters approved the new Thai Constitution in yesterday's vote. Nationwide, more than two-thirds of voters approved the new Constitution, and a solid majority of voters approved the Constitution in every region of Thailand. Prime Minister Surayud reiterates that the general election for a democratic Thai government will be held in December. Thailand will return to democracy by year's end. The Thai people have won.

The Thai King has guided Thailand to democracy. Thailand was a dictatorship when the King was coronated and remained so until 1973 when, with the King's full support, Thailand became a democracy. Each time military dictators have again attempted to seize power, the King has used his influence to restore democracy. Because of the King's influence, Thailand will have elections at year's end and will again have the most truly democratic government in Asia.

Veera Muksikapong tried to stage rallies in Thailand for deposed Prime Minister Thaksin - which failed after solid evidence of Thaksin's fraud and corruption was made public. He then staged a violent rally. The Thai government says it has evidence that the rally's leaders purposefully fomented violence to interfere with balloting for the new constitution. Mickey, the Thai courts, not the government, now will properly deal with those persons and evidence according to the rule of law.

The Thai King is a truly great and compassionate man who uses his wealth to benefit the Thai people - especially the poor. The King has created and maintains more than 4000 projects that provide hospitals, health care, roads, training, farms etc. for the poor. Mickey, the Thai King's real estate holding are in commercial real estate. Companies, not poor individuals, pay rent - which is used to support Royal projects - particularly for the poor. Royal projects are well-managed and audited; this method has worked better than some government projects where money can be stolen via corrupt practices. A change in the constitution would be required to change the tax status of the King.

The Thai King is a truly great and compassionate man who uses his wealth to benefit the Thai people - especially the poor. The King has created and maintains more than 4000 projects that provide hospitals, health care, roads, training, farms etc. for the poor. Corrupt greedy officals in Thai governments have focused on wealth for themselves and few others. Always, the King is mindful of his people. Lese majeste laws were converted to a tool to suppress critics under the dictators Pibul, Thanom, and Suchinda. The King has called for the abolition of lese majeste. Mickey, drugs, prostitution & AIDS are problems in all societies. Thaksin's government dealt with drugs via the extra-judicial killings of "people involved". The result: 2,500 people were reportedly killed without trial. Many innocent people died - and the drug problem grew worse. Prostitution & AIDS rates have declined in Thailand - but these problems remain. The King can guide, but these are problems for the government. The next Thai government will a true democracy. Perhaps it can do better.

The UN estimates Singapore has 100,000+ drug users - a higher percentage of the population than in Thailand. Singapore has thousands of prostitutes in 6 designated areas. Singapore's "benign dictatorship" is less successful than Thailand in dealing with prostitution or drug use. If you prefer no freedom of expression or press, Singapore's for you. Please go!
