  • awesome bro. on a scale of 1-10 how easy was it to build the stand cus im looking into doing one myself but i have no carpentry knowledge lol

  • @rbee2424

It doesn't matter how much knowledge you have, it matters how much effort you want to put into it. It was the first piece of furniture I've ever built and it came out great because I spent months figuring out exactly what I wanted and how to make it. So, on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 10 if you're lazy or a 3 if you're not. I recommend you check out Monster Fish Keepers, where people have posted how to build stands very much like mine.

  • Excellent job, your tank and stand look great. The stand looks professional and you saved a ton of money. The stands made of real pine or oak in the stores cost 5 and 600 dollars. Great video.

  • @audioman628

    Thanks a lot man =)

I'll be uploading an update video on this tank pretty soon.

  • What kind of wood did you use for your stand?

  • @ZRcamaro90

It is pine 2x4's and 2x6's, which are cheaply available at any hardware store. The most important part is making sure they're straight before you buy them. I got the "premium" wood, which simply means it's more likely to be straight and you pay a bit extra for that. It is totally worth it.

  • where di u get ur light and how much

  • @IKILLU720

Got it from a local fish store. They're Aquatic Life T5 HO lights and together they cost a few hundred bucks.

  • how much did this stand cost you ( wood and paint)

  • @johncean12396

The paint was like 20 bucks and I think the wood and screws and stuff was in the neighborhood of 150 to 200 bucks. That's way less than it would cost to buy a decent looking stand for this tank and mine is strong enough to survive a hurricane. Thanks for looking!

  • Great work

  • @TheOrockmoney

    Thanks =)

  • haha cool this brings back a lot of memories. i built like almost identical stand structure and we even have the same tank exept mine isnt drilled. lol we even have the same quit one return pump. but my tank is saltwater so thats like the only difference

  • Very nice build. Just one question- do you have alot of condensation in the stand/sump area? I would think you need some ventilation in there. Maybe I just didn't notice if you already did do that in the video. Either way it's very nice that you did it yourself.

  • @NITRO4KTHOMPSON

Thanks for the comment. I don't get any condensation anywhere, nor is there really any ventilation. Perhaps its because the sump isn't entirely sealed on the top?

  • aww, whos a happy fish?... WHOS A HAPPY FISH?!!!

  • nice job man! really looking good.

    any updates on your fish?

  • @Darobalmr

Thanks. They're all still doing fine. The oscar and Jack Dempsey are both getting pretty big, but still have plenty of growing left to do. I've been adding more plants and wood to the tank, so I'll have to make a new video to show everyone how it looks.

  • @breakspirit

nice to hear that. Please do post an update video.

  • about how much did you spend building the stand

  • @julio0794

    from a previous reply:

The stand cost about 150 dollars in parts including paint and everything.

  • nice, fuck paying 400 bucks for one, i just used tan cinder blocks

  • Awesome stand build. I would have built the stand 30 inch high. I like to sit and enjoy the tank. but thats just me. whole set up looks great. love the tiger oscar, has great color. thank you for sharing your build.

  • @bmf34257

Thanks a lot for the compliments =)

  • hey man great job looks cool finished im getting the same sized tank and ur stand looks like the easiest for me to pull of i was wondering if u could tell mehow much it cost to build and what the demensions r

  • @darklordspike

The stand cost about 150 dollars in parts including paint and everything. It is 72" wide, 19" deep, and 40" tall. I especially like how tall I made it, very easy to stand and look at it in comfort.

  • thanks man big help me and my roomate r going halves on a aquarium were gonna build the stand cause its cheaper than buying one and ive been searching for a good design that i could duplicate so thanks alot man

  • @darklordspike

No problem. Be sure to post it when you're done.

  • Ok, Thanks ;)

  • Woow, nice tank :)

  • @grafrk
