  • I think team kata is the most pointless thing in shotokan karate. The performance of the kata was okay, more speed and power needed though. As the applications - good to say them taken into account and practiced and especially nice to see some takedowns but none of it works for real. When doing the bunkai I would be far more worried about efficient and impressively effective technique than worrying about precise form. Work on some realistic techniques that are practical then work on precise form

  • I loved the kata but specially the bunkai, The 3 ladies are very strong. I hope that you 3 are still training karate..

  • Yep, sorry, but some parts of the bunkay were not rightly executed... for instance, 1:45 there is no haito-uchi attack, but its a technique to distract the opponent for a moment, so that you could grab his head, and turn it to the floor, then punch it with the right hand, and block any attempt of attack with the left hand, but the kata gotta be trained very hard, and you were just beggining the trainnings in this video , so, congratulations =)

  • the best things i can say is...its pertty good. look for some videos on here of kagawa deminstrations on techinques, yals back stance * keep ya hips in line with ya back and head* it just looks like ya cocking ya hip..sorry it just does. hip rotation on back stance is huge for power...in stance hips pushing out, when punching push hips into the punch. if ya belt aint coming undone during ur kata...then not enough tourque from ur feet into ur hands

  • Gotta say I love this video, its my favorite kata of all time.

Its very focused, takes deep concentration and then an explosion of speed and power.

You did an excellent job with this demonstration, excellent bunkai.

  • I LOVED it! Thank you for sharing, and I really enjoyed the innovative bunkai.

  • Ladies, don't listen to any who says your kata lacks power. Your demonstration was well done. Defending player, your kime has room to grow; that is the case for all. Attacking players, you have a tendency to move your heads in the wrong direction with the blows you receive. This is a common error in any demonstration. I have been practicing Shotokan for many years. As you develop, you make the kata & bunkai your own. It is clear all three of you are on the path to your karate-do's ownership.

  • Great job!

  • The application you gave for the second rising elbow/counter punch/down block combination in horse stance is very sophisticated. Nice sweep.

  • I have been a Karate-ka for 24 years (Shotokan) and liked watching the girls.

This is my favorite kata...as with all of us who train...the kata as a team needs a little work...but the bunkai demo was magnificent. All the girls are exceptional but the team lead...WOW!

Her speed and precision are very telling of her talent.

    Good vid...thank you!

  • I especially appreciate your kind responses to the unkind comments. Oss.

  • Nijushiho is a fun kata yes? flows nice, feels nice, good job ladies!

  • I like the music :)

  • very good nicely timed i like that it looks better

  • Thought you did a good job.

  • there flow is just great and the girl that defends against the two girls has such control she could really do some damage... i have just started this art form and i love the motion of it!

  • I have been studying karate for 36+ years and have seen quite a few karate videos on youtube. That was one of the best videos I have seen here. Sure you have only done this 5 times, but the format was excellent and there was nothing in the moves that could not be improved by doing it 1,000 more times. This applies to everyone, not just your group. Pox on competition, you were impressionable.

I bow in appreciation for a very well done video. Arrigato gozaimashita!

  • That Good !! C'est Bien

  • Work your kihon and you wiill be good karate-ka. Nice work

  • I like the music

  • very good job!

  • Sorry, but the kata is poor. There is no power and its to slow.

  • Please note that on this vidéo, it's just the fifth time that we do this kata together !! It's not a competition but a processus of learning . . . note also that I dis for the first time this kata just one week before this video :) So I don't tink it's poor but I agree with you that there is a lot of place to amelioration. Have a good day :)

  • No problem, keep practicing and you wil get much better. Good day to you too :-)

  • Maykacha, I say to you what I say to most Shotokan practitioners: please try to have a look at other styles, how they do katas, and how their stances are. Your performance is very good, in my opinion, but a little "tired", meaning, little spirit in there. If you look around maybe you'll get some more "spark" into your own practice. Oss.

  • Thanks for your comment. Oss

  • @Maykacha Don't listen to him, you guys did a great job. I thought your guys flowed very well together. It isn't easy to keep in time like that. Great bunkai too.

  • Up to a point, mate. There is indeed little aggression, and the lack of punch is typical of (don't bash me here) female katas, but they have a very good sync, I guess they're pushing on that, and the speed is enough for general demos(maybe not for high-level competition).

  • @Ersanea Who are you to say how a kata should or should not be done? As long as the concepts inherit in the kata are transmitted to the student then it doesn't matter how the kata is done. No two people will do a kata the same way or apply it the same way. It is the concepts that matter. Funakoshi would not approve of your statement. You obviously are not a true karateka.

  • @Ersanea I thought it was great actually, they show alot of power and strength. Speed is not always good when doing kata.

  • Excelente!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent symmetry!

  • Nelgal,

oui mon ami, votre conseil c'est correct.

  • Excellent.

  • so cool!

  • Very very nice!

    Realy liked it

    10+ :)

  • Nijushiho....I may not speak a lick of French in this case, but most impressive kata; so calm and subtle, yet explosive.

  • Salut Marie Coco! J'arrive pas à te reconnaître.... C'est toi la mignonne de droite? Dans tous les cas, je suis impressionnée. C'est beau à voir, vous êtes superbes les filles!
