@hunk4hire The rot started a long time before the NRL. The ban of pokies by the Bjelke-Peterson government meant that the BRL clubs got less income than the NSWRL clubs. This lead to the better players leaving for better money down south.
TV Coverage was also a issue with people being able to watch the games at home which meant they were less likely to go to a BRL game. They could also watch the NSWRL at home which just furthered the rot.

Grand Final..............but where are the people? The stadium is empty!
Sad.........just a shadow of the great Grand Finals of the '80s. The NRL has completely gutted league at the grass roots.
