i just didnt get any sort of resident evil experience out of this, at least re 4 offered a bit of it with tweaks that made it better in terms of a reboot but this was resident evil
i know i bashed this game alot but i have to say; its really fun to play with the all the extras and the basic gameplay, bosses lacked a little in length but they had interesting ways of dealing with them like the flying bat/lobster thing
and the muscle chris makes no sense to the series; throughout we have seen weak skinny know nothing characters who r thrown into heinous situations; so why the fuck does chris look like he could take on ten men and kill them with one hand?
and nothing is explained as to what wesker was doing in the past 5-7 games; ie: why was he collecting virus samples? what was the organization he was with? WHAT IS THE GRUDGE HE HOLDS AGAINST CHRIS?! okay they explained the origin of the t-virus...WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH UROBOROS, THE FUCKING VIRUS OF THIS GAME?! re 4 explained everything about their virus, why not re 5?
and this is jill's last story; yet she is not even a playable character in the original re 5 game and is only shown for what? 5 min tops; epic failure for the most favorite character of the series; and how is she being controlled; this is never explained in the game when its part of it originally; and why was wesker always collecting samples of the viruses? what was the organization he was with? nothing is ever explained about the main antigonist of the whole series yet it was in previous games

another thing i was disappointed about this game was its art style or grotesquery; as u said absence of gore; but with all the re's there were always new creature designs; yet this one steals from past games (lickers and the insects look like brain demios from re 3; they dont even feature new attacks) and the bosses and uroboros were ripped off from lost planet ( watch the boss fights and enemies, ull know what i mean)

A good review and quite a good conclusion too, but my opinion of this game is a bad one, the controls are ok (they can be changed in the options anyways) graphics are very good, the story was mediocre at the beginning and got worse.

no, Resident Evil games are not that realistic, but again(SPOILER ALERT) a plane crash lands in a volcano that just HAPPENS to be in the middle of the ocean then Wesker falls into magma(goes above his head) then he jumps out and he's just sitting in it for about a minute trying to pull a helicopter down with his cheesy arm... seriously!
i hugely enjoyed this game due to its 2-player co-op career i thought that this was a key feature to its becoming a great game however i agree that in re6 (which is rumored to come out in 2011) they should keep the co-op career but greate more of a horror and less random parts such as the tribal men in the cave because there was just no need but i would give this game (8) or (9)/10

Depends, RE4 did have a better atmosphere and more horror elements (Regenerators especially) but I found RE5 had more incentive to replay, especially with the ability to select any chapter from the main menu, and its plot was so much more relevant to the rest of the story.
I just give her bow and loaded her up with first aid spray and she did what I expected her to and that was to heal me when I need it and of course weapons were not an issue

Plus if you don't believe what I said go and check the Eurogamer and Edges reviews for the game, they are 100% right! 7 out of 10 game. RE4=9.7 out of 10 game!
Meh, I dislike almost all professional reviewers now, most of the time they just cater to fanboys and hype and give hyped games high scores all the time, not all of them but alot do.
I much prefer fan reviews these days. (provided the person isn't a fanboy but then you can tell when they are so that's not an issue)
Edge are not fanboys at all they gave RE5 7 out of 10, they gave Killzone 2 7 out of 10...So that proves that hype does not matter to them. Killzone 2 was hyped for over 4 years, still edge doen't care.
Resident Evil 5 is an okay game, just not as good as Resident evil 4 in terms of pacing, gameplay and art-direction. Plus the shooting feels terrible! It's quite short, I mean Resident evil 4 has 15-20 hours gameplay and has all the unlockables that RE5 has. But can't blame capcom they did try, but without the legendary Resident Evil creator is wasn't going to be as good we all knew this. It sure doen't look like it! Bring back the RE creator capcom!

The co-op on RE5 is great, but however considering that if I try to play the game by myself it becomes terrible! I can not recommand this game as the single-player aspect is unplayable with the AI.

And i agree with the Sheva AI in your review, its really bad lol
I played CVX before RE1 too, I hated the Psone version of the game even as a kid, I first played the (in my opinion) vastyl superior RE2 and RE3, then Code Veronica X on the PS2 and I watched this documentary called "Wesker's Report" which summarised the first game's storyline and all of stuff in the background in 2 and 3.
He just never sounded strongly British to me until RE5.
Yeah i found that id accidentally end up shooting sheva since since she kept running across my line of fire lol, In re4 Ashley never got in the way since whenever you aimed a gun,she would get down or stay close behind you. Although it was sometimes fun to just kill her for the fun!
i bought the multiplayer too, slayers witch is basically mercs with more is fun but survivor where you kill other players for points is complete mess, it doesn't work atall
i agree 100% wiht your review, not enough horror re4 had way more than this and it wasnt even that bad and the ai sucked on enemies and partner but still amazing game
Yeah, great game. It's just for a game where you kill other people RE's control scheme does NOT work, it is the one time the complaint in its stop and shoot control scheme is justified in my opinion.

Yeah his RE1 has the american accent, i always assumed he just talks like that to fit in with his S.T.A.R.S colleuges (spelling?), if you listen back to cutscenes of CVX which had Waugh, he also sounds strongly english, also in RE0 and RE4 separate ways, i played CVX before RE1 remake so it didnt really seem much different to me, although it may have done to you. And i agree with the Sheva AI in your review, its really bad lol

I played CVX before RE1 too, I hated the Psone version of the game even as a kid, I first played the (in my opinion) vastyl superior RE2 and RE3, then Code Veronica X on the PS2 and I watched this documentary called "Wesker's Report" which summarised the first game's storyline and all of stuff in the background in 2 and 3.
He just never sounded strongly British to me until RE5.

Yeah i found that id accidentally end up shooting sheva since since she kept running across my line of fire lol, In re4 Ashley never got in the way since whenever you aimed a gun,she would get down or stay close behind you. Although it was sometimes fun to just kill her for the fun!

There was no friendly fire so that wasn;t too much of an issue, it was more her blocking my sights on a rifle that drove me insane.
Indeed, Ashley was much better at avoiding attacks from you or the enemies, which is kinda sad since she was borderline defenceless.

i bought the multiplayer too, slayers witch is basically mercs with more is fun but survivor where you kill other players for points is complete mess, it doesn't work atall

my thoughts exactly, I wish in Slayers you didn't kill other people as well, it's why I loath Survivors because that's the primary goal in that mode.

Yeah, great game. It's just for a game where you kill other people RE's control scheme does NOT work, it is the one time the complaint in its stop and shoot control scheme is justified in my opinion.
