my cousin bought one of these rifles last month. i like the AR platform, because i shoot ARs, but i still shot a tighter group at 100 yards with my customized 10/22. it's definitely cheaper than shooting the .223, but i wouldn't recommend it for home self defense.

@pinponelmono More importantly, stop flicking your finger forward post-shot, when you do that, the muscles in your forearm flex and change your palm pressureand squeeze the trigger, no matter how hard you flick the trigger, the bullets come out the end at the same speed!

I never understood why people put scopes on detachable carry handles. You can just take 'em off, and use one that fits on a rail.

Some people prefer to keep sights ON the "carry handles" due to the fact that they want to also have the iron sights for closer targets, and/ or incase they're using sights that use batteries and the batteries die out.

A pair of backup iron sights and a quick detach mount can do it.

This is true, but in most cases it's cheaper to just add a $15 mount to the carry handle plus the sight, rather then adding the red dot plus flip up sights. But more importantly it all boils down to what is the user's preference.
