Ok so lets see.. Ok.. Hmm... Ok so now for all of us who know of both ending to Infamous 2. Lets review something. Kessler will be timeline A. Cole Timelime B. So we know of the beast in timeline B. We know how he got his powers... But in timeline A Who is the beast? Where did he appear from? How did Kessler get his powers?
I was thoroughly excited about this game, as I loved the first one to bits! I was put down by Gamespots review and not impressed with IGN'S (because the rating was lower than the first), but I still bought the second. I LOVED the second! It improved every aspect from the first game, I have no idea why the reviews weren't good. I advise you buy the game NOW or karma will get you back ;)
@Bleachboi16 No we've seen Moya in the cutscenes of the first game and she's kind of a main character in the comic book series. She dies in the last issue so she's definitely not Kuo
@Bleachboi16 I just looked on eBay and there were people selling each issue for £2.10 here in the UK. I'm sure they'll have them in comic book stores but there aren't that many of them around here. You can probably get them all now for $2.99 each but they're going to release a graphic novel with the whole story of the comic book series in December. That will probably be cheaper than buying the comic books. I think you can also download it off PSN as a digital comic but I'm not sure
you're right 0MeJames cole's new voice actor from infamous 2 does sound much better and you're right also about his old voice actor sounding like he poured tar down his throat cause I played the 1st one too. and yes I like cole's new voice actor too! he should do that on infamous 3 too!

personally i liked the originals voice...especially playing the game it showed how much crap he been through..this voice isn't bad but at times it sounds like the type of person that wants to pronounce a word and hold out the "s" in it for super long..think its called a lisp whatever...oh well game will no doubt be awesome can't wait

@khchosen1 it can't be a future cole. Kessler's time travel powers were NEW after the Beast showed up, so the Beast couldn't have time travel, and if it's a future cole then he would cease to exist should he kill his past self.
@Damasterdotorg yeah but the thing is there is this thing going on with astronomers that if you time travel, you aren't going into the past. you are actually going into an alternate dimension, so killing past cole won't kill you. Also, when "Kessler used his latest and most dangerous power..." it didn't say that he got it AFTER the Beast came, they said he had gotten it, but they didn't say when, leaving it open ended.

I actually like new Cole a bit better, the old cole was tilted a little too much towards the infamous (evil) side, this cole is a lot more balanced and I like him :D
Watching this trailer is no excuse for not playing inFamous 1. if you didn't get the first one and want to get this one just know that this trailer only has half of what you should know about inFamous, so go buy inFamous 1 and play it. You got plenty of time before inFamous 2 comes out and inFamous 1 will be cheap at this stage
P.S does any1 know how much the hero edition costs?
Ok, odd voice, but more importantly, the one thing I didnt like about the first infamous was this, its plot. The plot is rather bland in all honesty, jumping from one thing to the next with little to no transition. The game was fun to play, but not so much to watch the story for.
@Mamoru0Hasukage What are you talking about. Infamous 1 had a great story. However It felt segmented because It was essentially done in chapters. The first part is dealing with sasha and fixing the water supply. the second chapter was pursuing alden, the defending the jail scene, and finally the showdown on top of the tower, zeke's betrayal, and the stanton bridge. The third chapter was the end with helping john, trying to save trish, finding the raysphere and defeating kessler.

Your thinking on the sence of what they can do, their CHARECTER is what I am looking at. All of their personalities are for the most part cliche. A phycotic lady who suposidly wants the main charecter body and soul for who know what reason, an old man bitter at another for taking whats "rightfully his", and the evil self thing (future or otherwise) has been done to death. Their abilities do not make them what they are, its their personality that makes a charecter have...well charecter.

Alden wasn't just an old man taking what was rightfully his as he wasn't vying for control over the first sons. He merely felt a need for power since kessler took that from him and so rallied the homeless into an army that could rival the first sons. And kessler wasn't evil either, he was trying to save the world.
You seem to be missing the point. The point is they are indeed colorful. But in no way original. And I still stand by my opinion that the story isnt that well made. Had a nice begining, then they just kept throwing in unnessecary plot twists that had no validity to the story's beging nor middle nor end. It was mere shock value and that doesnt make a solid story. Not to mention the fact that they throw in the beast thing merely to make a sequal. Which for gameplay, hell yeah a sequal is good.

It wasn't mere shock value as the story was interesting even before i knew about the twist at the end. I gave you examples of how they are original that you have yet to refure. They don't throw in the beast just to make a sequel. They did it to reveal kesslers motivations because without it kessler doing what he did would make no sense at all

Yeah, they were, they were all there for shock value, I dont disagree that it had an interesting begining, but because they just could not keep a steady pace nor have a coherent segway, it fell flat. Think about it this way, if you watched a movie that had an ending simmilar to this (take for example thor or iron man) and they both have endings in which they throw something in. Whats that say

After there was no other option he was forced to go back in time and form a plan to get cole ready to face the beast, having to kill his own wife and harm his best friend in the process. Ok, he may not be one dimensional. However, he is still not fleshed out, he is the typical villian in the game. The ending was pretty much thrown in with the fact he is cole at the last second.

Now I dont know if you think im calling your opinion wrong for liking it, which I am not. But as a fact of how a story should be made (which includes charecter depth/growth, a plot that transitions and makes sense with such transitions, and an ending that relates to the story that simply just does not open itself for a sequal, which, infamous did. Which I welcome the sequal but I still am not expecting much of the story) it is not that good in the story department. As a playable game it is fine.

It reveals the motivations of the primary villain. It reveals why he developed the raysphere and why he chose cole. It's pretty ridiculous to say that the ending didn't relate to the story.
No it did not. There was no growth in 99% of the charecters. The only growth there was, was in the morality of the choices, and even then the personality didnt change all that much. It would make sense if they explained it in another way that didnt make itself completly and tottaly open just so they can make more money. If they would have simply ditched the whole idea kessler is you that would have made it slightly better. Explain who made the first ray sphere and use that as kessler.
@Mamoru0Hasukage If they ditched the idea of kessler being cole from the future sent back to prepare him for the beast, the game would have made no sense at all. Your premise was that the ending wasn't necessary for the story and it was. By the way. There was a great deal of character development in cole and zeke especially but cole's voice actor didn't know how to act any other tone other than angry so that's not the story's fault.
I dont know what they could have done to make it better. Perhaps this was their only choice, it still doesnt make it a good plot. And no they really didnt. Only one instance was there any impact for zeke and that was his selfishness. Then all of a sudden he is with cole again and cole just simply does not acknowladge it in anyway. Perhaps it was around the middle where they should have made a few changes here and there so the ending would have been better.
@Mamoru0Hasukage Cole doesn't acknowledge it in any way? You mean aside from that long time where he refuses to talk to zeke since he feels betrayed. Where is cole all of a sudden with zeke again. The only time after that they're together was at the end where zeke tries to make up for both the ray sphere mistake and the alden mistake by helping cole kill kessler. Even after that cole still basically refuses to speak to him.
@Mamoru0Hasukage If you're really think infamous's story is terrible with unfleshed out characters and bad plot, why the hell do you watch keroro gunso? That has characters with no depth and no plot whatsoever. Be consistent in what you hate on.
A.) I havent actually watched that in forever b.) thats a satire, there needs no story honestly. C.) I dont dissagree it has a bad story, but I did not watch it for its story, i watched it for its humor and refrences into anime that arent well known for the most part. Besides, what does that have to do with a video game in america. What consistancy is there. If you said halo, yes, i hate halo's story as well. I also dont hate infamous. I just think its story isnt well done.

And the combat was so disorienting you barely knew where your opponent was. At least inFAMOUS had very solid combat. Prototype, did not. Nor did prototype have any interesting characters at all. in prototype the main character was way too overpowered to relate to. Prototype had already been done on the ps2.

Primarily because in hulk didn't try to take itself seriously like prototype did. In hulk you could grab a lamp post and use cows as golfballs BTW cows were one of the few things in that game that were invincible. In hulk i could grab a giant blow-up gorilla and fly around with it. Prototype just sucks out all of the hilarity and tries to make itself seem mature.

Interesting how the Beast got slightly redesigned for the trailer. Something tells me though, we won't find out about his origins until near the end of the game, where it will probably be hinted at and built as one of the big mysteries. I can imagine though, it'll be just as mind blowing as the Kessler/Cole connection, and probably hint at things to come in the eventual 3rd game.
cole's voice is some kind similar(maybe?) to alex mercer's voice(prototype) and has the same situation? and they both want revenge on who's responsible and in both sequels theres a "big monster" just like in prototype 2 and infamous 2
I love the new voice only after I had watched this about 7 times and put it side by side with the fist game. The first game to me was an orgin story so it is allowed to be a little different. The voice in the first game seems to me now that it could only fit into the evil or chaos cole. This new voice has it's gravel but it also starts off the story of the true plot of cole's adventure. The first game was beyond great this one will just be better.
In inFAMOUS 2 Cole looks much younger than in inFAMOUS but perhaps it depends on the rayspeare. I mean Kassler is over 110 years old, but looks like 50.

Cole's voice in inFamous was ridiculously gravely. It sounded like he poured tar down his throat. This one sounds MUCH better.

Watching this trailer is no excuse for not playing inFamous 1. if you didn't get the first one and want to get this one just know that this trailer only has half of what you should know about inFamous, so go buy inFamous 1 and play it. You got plenty of time before inFamous 2 comes out and inFamous 1 will be cheap at this stage
P.S does any1 know how much the hero edition costs?

Ok, odd voice, but more importantly, the one thing I didnt like about the first infamous was this, its plot. The plot is rather bland in all honesty, jumping from one thing to the next with little to no transition. The game was fun to play, but not so much to watch the story for.

@Mamoru0Hasukage What are you talking about. Infamous 1 had a great story. However It felt segmented because It was essentially done in chapters. The first part is dealing with sasha and fixing the water supply. the second chapter was pursuing alden, the defending the jail scene, and finally the showdown on top of the tower, zeke's betrayal, and the stanton bridge. The third chapter was the end with helping john, trying to save trish, finding the raysphere and defeating kessler.

Your thinking on the sence of what they can do, their CHARECTER is what I am looking at. All of their personalities are for the most part cliche. A phycotic lady who suposidly wants the main charecter body and soul for who know what reason, an old man bitter at another for taking whats "rightfully his", and the evil self thing (future or otherwise) has been done to death. Their abilities do not make them what they are, its their personality that makes a charecter have...well charecter.

@Mamoru0Hasukage A) Who knows what reason? She wanted to get revenge at kessler and in her deranged mental state couldn't tell the difference between the two. Alden wasn't just an old man taking what was rightfully his as he wasn't vying for control over the first sons. He merely felt a need for power since kessler took that from him and so rallied the homeless into an army that could rival the first sons. And kessler wasn't evil either, he was trying to save the world.

You seem to be missing the point. The point is they are indeed colorful. But in no way original. And I still stand by my opinion that the story isnt that well made. Had a nice begining, then they just kept throwing in unnessecary plot twists that had no validity to the story's beging nor middle nor end. It was mere shock value and that doesnt make a solid story. Not to mention the fact that they throw in the beast thing merely to make a sequal. Which for gameplay, hell yeah a sequal is good.

It wasn't mere shock value as the story was interesting even before i knew about the twist at the end. I gave you examples of how they are original that you have yet to refure. Yeah, they were, they were all there for shock value, I dont disagree that it had an interesting begining, but because they just could not keep a steady pace nor have a coherent segway, it fell flat. Kessler was more so convoluted, and zeke WAS the bumbling idiot side kick no matter what he did. Yes, you did, you based their personality off of the goo and telekinetic power, to be fair, you didnt descripe kessler that way, but he still is not fleshed out. And its the exact same thing.

They even made a point of that. When trish rigs up the bus he notes how smart she was to be able to do that, then zeke goes and does things even similar to that.

After there was no other option he was forced to go back in time and form a plan to get cole ready to face the beast, having to kill his own wife and harm his best friend in the process. Now I dont know if you think im calling your opinion wrong for liking it, which I am not. But as a fact of how a story should be made (which includes charecter depth/growth, a plot that transitions and makes sense with such transitions, and an ending that relates to the story that simply just does not open itself for a sequal, which, infamous did. Which I welcome the sequal but I still am not expecting much of the story) it is not that good in the story department. As a playable game it is fine.

It reveals the motivations of the primary villain. It reveals why he developed the raysphere and why he chose cole. It's pretty ridiculous to say that the ending didn't relate to the story.

No it did not. There was no growth in 99% of the charecters. The only growth there was, was in the morality of the choices, and even then the personality didnt change all that much. It would make sense if they explained it in another way that didnt make itself completly and tottaly open just so they can make more money. If they would have simply ditched the whole idea kessler is you that would have made it slightly better. Explain who made the first ray sphere and use that as kessler.

Your premise was that the ending wasn't necessary for the story and it was. By the way. There was a great deal of character development in cole and zeke especially but cole's voice actor didn't know how to act any other tone other than angry so that's not the story's fault.

I dont know what they could have done to make it better. Perhaps this was their only choice, it still doesnt make it a good plot. And no they really didnt. Only one instance was there any impact for zeke and that was his selfishness. Then all of a sudden he is with cole again and cole just simply does not acknowladge it in anyway. Perhaps it was around the middle where they should have made a few changes here and there so the ending would have been better.

The only time after that they're together was at the end where zeke tries to make up for both the ray sphere mistake and the alden mistake by helping cole kill kessler. Even after that cole still basically refuses to speak to him.

I dont dissagree it has a bad story, but I did not watch it for its story, i watched it for its humor and refrences into anime that arent well known for the most part. And the combat was so disorienting you barely knew where your opponent was. At least inFAMOUS had very solid combat. Prototype, did not. Nor did prototype have any interesting characters at all. in prototype the main character was way too overpowered to relate to. Prototype had already been done on the ps2.

Prototype is a game with an overpowered character, no reason or explained plot, and he randomly kills everyone and the story is literally crap. Hulk ultimate destruction did a better job than prototype. Prototype 2 won't be any better.

One minute, he's all emotional and upset because his sister gets kidnapped then the next 45 minutes he's running around ripping innocent women in half and eating children! What the Fuck? Anyway, yea, you don't realize how bad Prototype is until you actually beat it then you realize its complete garbage. Adding more powers isn't going to make Prototype 2 better either.

Primarily because in hulk didn't try to take itself seriously like prototype did. In hulk you could grab a lamp post and use cows as golfballs BTW cows were one of the few things in that game that were invincible. In hulk i could grab a giant blow-up gorilla and fly around with it. Prototype just sucks out all of the hilarity and tries to make itself seem mature.

Interesting how the Beast got slightly redesigned for the trailer. Something tells me though, we won't find out about his origins until near the end of the game, where it will probably be hinted at and built as one of the big mysteries. I can imagine though, it'll be just as mind blowing as the Kessler/Cole connection, and probably hint at things to come in the eventual 3rd game.

I love the new voice only after I had watched this about 7 times and put it side by side with the fist game. The first game to me was an orgin story so it is allowed to be a little different. The voice in the first game seems to me now that it could only fit into the evil or chaos cole. This new voice has it's gravel but it also starts off the story of the true plot of cole's adventure. The first game was beyond great this one will just be better.
