It has been proven that there are more effective ways to discipline a child that doesn't involve spankings, whippings, lashings etc. Yet people still discipline this way. It really sickens me that this book is trying to get parents to lash their babies who aren't even one! Really? A baby doesn't know any better!

The idea that the Pearls endorse torture is ridiculous to anyone who is familiar with their ministry. I have read a lot of their material and I can assure you that this video is a gross misrepresentation of reality. As for the animals at the beginning of the video who killed their child... It's hard to even contemplate that kind of brutality towards ones one child. The Pearls would be the first to condemn abuse of any kind. That will become clear for anyone who actually reads their material.

Having said that, the narrator pushes his own agenda - "in the secular world we do not do this" - while forgetting the Soviet Union, PolPol and The Chinese Cultural Revolution. I cannot believe all of the comments vehemently defending striking CHILDREN, the most vulnerable members of our society. Doing this to an adult is reprehensible enough (and also a felony called assault), but to do it a child, and not only that, but your OWN child. I should be desensitized to hearing about what humans HAPPILY do to one another considering how often it occurs...but I'm not.

WOW! Talk about disinformation, I went to his website I read the articles.. All they seem to be teaching is how to effectively discipline your kids with love and communication. THEY HAVE DOZENS OF ARTICLES COVERING ALL KINDS OF TOPICS NOT JUST DISCIPLINE!!! I have been successful in sales and have sat down with 100's of families I know for a fact that most people have a hard time with communication especially when dealing with children. Torture?Because you spank your child that's torture?? LOL

so sad that you all have inaccurately mirrored the Pearls. as i advised before, i suggest you go and visit the Pearls on their farm and speak with them directly...or how about one of their 5 grown children? wouldn't you think asking the children themselves would tell all? and for the record...the money that you said the Pearls "make" in their ministry...zero goes to them. they are self sufficient and need no money. they live like hillbillies.
