Ok if you want to fix the economy here is basically how you do it.
More money to education--- leads to more specialization/innovation --- innovation leads to more jobs --- more jobs makes a better economy.
I am kind of annoyed that people are making a fuss about the generation that is ending and will soon step down, rather then helping the future generation and then later blame problems on us.
I know Sen.Bernie Sanders is not a democrat, but an Independent.but who is more qualify to be the Senate's leader. & on the House of Representatives. they should nominate an Independent as Speaker.

If u haven't seen Former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson speak about the Justice party and his attempt to run for US president u should... he is putting forth a real progressive platform not this illusion of progressivism Obama paints over his republicanism
So if you are middle class you make $40,000 plus? Lets say they pay 20% or 8,000 in federal taxes. Minus state and SS that would leave what $30,000? Now I earn $17,000 a year and I raise my child. I wish I had $30,000 dollars. Sorry but that is a lot of money to poor people. Now how about 90% tax on billionaires? Damn then they would be struggling also.
The republican party is dead, it's not even a viable force nationally anymore, and at state levels it is dying as well. Point being, after we get Obama to do a few good things then move the democratic party, of which I do not belong to nor vote for, get the dem party moved more left it will be the end of the right-wing in general. The MAJORITY in this country are LIBERALS. Just fact.
@TheUSMetalhead I agree totally man. I predict Republicans get elected into office maybe 1 or 2 more times before the party is officially dead (same thing in the house and senate), and there is funeral for it. Also, many conservative democrats are being voted out and being replaced by liberal candidates. I am sure dems party will be a liberal party very, very soon (maybe within end of this decade).
People like Bernie Sanders are whats wrong with the "Independant Party". Mr. Sanders cant even manage the 2 or 3 hairs left on his balding head and yet feels compelled to give advice to others? This is why Ron Paul is running as a Rep eventhough we all know he is NOT Republican, Paul is of the same mind as Sanders, Paul just doesnt have the backbone to say it.
@seamoremonster The American Independent Party began back in the mid to late 60s. (maybe 1967 or 68). Somwehere around there. I remember that the Shearer family started it.
@thenewmike2012 Thanks for that. I just checked it out online. You're right. The "American Independent Party" was a rightwing party established by the Shearer's. I don't think Bernie Sanders could be termed "rightwing". I register as an independent. I don't think being an independent would be the same as an American Independent.
@seamoremonster I have no problems with which party or which candidate you vote for. I happen to think President Obama will and should be re-elected, but to each, their own.
@seamoremonster I would also add that the American Independent Party nominated George C. Wallace as its presidential candidate. Im sure you know Wallaces' postion on race relations.
@seamoremonster I try to be VERY careful with the word "racist". In my heart, I believe that there are people of ALL political stripes that give in to the temptation to use race as a way to line their own pockets with more money. Again, in MY heart. I dont see President Obama as one of those "Washingtonians" looking to get rich there, like so many members of our disfunctional Congress. I really see him as a good man and a Great President.
@thenewmike2012 He disappoint me at times, then again maybe he sees a bigger picture. But he's light years ahead of anything the Republicans have served up and I will be supporting him again. But it's important to get other progressives to realise that not voting is just as damaging as voting for the Republicans. In 2008 75% of registered Repubs vote and only 40% of Dems voted and they need to look at Congress they left O to work with. Wisconsin has learned this lesson the hard way.
@seamoremonster I can understand your point on disappointment. I think many Obama supporters thought he had some magic wand that he would wave over the country and cure all of our ailments. However, I have to belive that the President will be victorious over either Mr. Romney or Mr. Gingrich. The REALLY SMART GOP candidates are sitting 2012 out and waiting for the 2016 election.
Bernie Sanders is the kind of politician we need to put us back on our feet. People need to concentrate on who they put in Congress and Senate. Obama has shown most occasions he will work with rather than against those two bodies.....saying that he's miles ahead of any Republican running for the office.
I had the extreme good fortune of meeting Lewis Black, and asked him if he could have any president he wanted who he would pick. Without hesitation he said Bernie Sanders.
There is a most urgent task than creating jobs, it is destroying the myth that giving more money to rich people will do it. Else it will just end up as more tax cuts.
You kill any innovation or new jobs when you censor the internets and that creates I can't even begin to say most likely a Million+ jobs. I am a small software company and started in 98 as a kid but lucky to have sold it in '00 but 05-current has let me innovate, create 10 new jobs a year (60K)& outsource because of the net.

The whole speech, I was thinking,
"Waived bans and gave military aid to countries using child soldiers"
"Worried my grandma by threatening to stop Social Security checks - although, he pushes for a payroll tax holidy? Something isn't right there..."
"US seizing control of Libyan oil fields and strategic ports"
"Sweeping financial reforms that lay soft hands on the biggest banks"
"Still 'evolving' on gay marriage"
"Horsemeat for sale! Tender, delicious USDA horse meat!"

@thenewmike2012 Sure do. To start a party with such racist positions nowadays would be redundant because the Repubs have got it covered.
