A) Ice melting dose not increase water levels B) look up "MCA" or Medieval Warming Period, and further more the "LIA" or little ice age that followed the MCA. the earth has gone 90% of its existence without icecaps at all. The earth was not flooded then nor will it be if they completely melt. the earth has done this before in the last 900 years of recorded history. CO2 has yet to be "PROVEN" a cause of this warm period.
I hope Europeans can react appropriately to global warming. The NASCAR crowd over here still thinks Jesus wouldn't allow such a thing as global warming. Maybe the USA can get Hulk Hogan to do climate change documentaries to get the attention of trailer trash.

Global warming is a natural occurence. The fact that there is even ice at the poles is proof that we are currently in an Ice Age, and Ice Ages don't last forever.
@freakylocz14 No, now is the tropical age. We're actually cooling slightly at the moment. But the climate changes all the time, so no worries. It's not like we can change anything...
Sea levels are falling now... this is a very old video. The Antarctic ice cap has grown by over 420,000 sq miles in less than 2 years.Al Gore was wrong (he lied)... the next ice age is coming and the liberal idiots that tried to preach global warming failed.
The climate always changes, always has and always will... get used to it!
@CrazyChitTV I don't know what you hope to gain by lying about sea ice extent but people will not be fooled. From the US National Sea and Ice Data Center, August 17, 2010: "Overview of conditions: As of August 16, 2010, Arctic ice extent was 5.95 million square kilometers (2.30 million square miles),1.68 million square kilometers (649,000 square miles) below the 1979 to 2000 average. As of August 16, only 2007 and 2008 had lower extent. Approximately one month remains in the melt season."
You want me to believe that the ice is melting because this cartoon shows it . Show me real footaqge of the caps melting . Opps I forgot that real images of the poles are classified. You will only get google cartoons.
@mwcdx This is direct from NASA data. Or do you think they are involved in some global conspiracy to promote global warming so scientists can get research grants? Highly unlikely. Temperatures are heating up and the Arctic is the canary in the coalmine. So we should get out of mining coal. And oil. And natural gas. Clean, cheap renewable energy is the key to the future of humanity. Why you want to keep living in the fossil age until we all become fossils is beyond me.
What has perplexed me is that one would think w/ all the so-called melting going on- wouldnt there be a marked rise in the ocean levels by now ? Seriously- how come Louisiana and Venice are not under a permanent 6" or 12" of water by now. Can some one answer this for me- I am not being snarky- I would like a reasonable explanation for this- just the facts> What is happening with all of this displaced ice?
@superbruce An analogy. Your freezer is full of ice. It is out the back of the house. In summer the sun shines on it, melts some of the ice. At night it refreezes. You decide to start turning up the thermostat on the freezer. What do you see? More ice melting during the day. At some point you turn up the thermostat so far that it is above freezing point or the nightly freezing can't refreeze the ice that melted during the day, all the ice melts. More CO2 = turning up the thermostat.
@indulis1 - I understand the THEORY of your analogy- but it still does not clarify the supposition that if indeed the icecaps are melting, and then refreezing- in the non freezing seasons then- should there not be a marked rise in the sea levels somewhere on earth, in multiple areas. And negating any data from tides, El Nino, etc.... The proof is always in the pudding. I need to see evidance of melting ice caps- and to me, that mean rising sea levels....
@superbruce I think (from memory) The Arctic ice is not that much in volume, so there is not much rise associated with it. It is also "floating" and if you remember Archimedes it will displace as much water as its weight (which is close to water as it is ice!). Arctic ice is seen as an indicator of health for the much more massive Greenland ice sheet which is close by. I'll see if I can find anything more about this and post it here.
@superbruce "If small glaciers and polar ice caps on the margins of Greenland and the Antarctic Peninsula melt, the projected rise in sea level will be around 0.5 m. Melting of the Greenland ice sheet would produce 7.2 m of sea-level rise, and melting of the Antarctic ice sheet would produce 61.1 m of sea level rise." w i k i pedia / w i k i / Current_sea_level_rise (with science references). 20cm rise since 1900.
@superbruce Why don't you people do some basic research? Go to Wikipedia, look up "Current sea level rise" and the first sentence says: ""Current sea level rise has occurred at a mean rate of 1.8 mm per year for the past century, and more recently, during the satellite era of sea level measurement, at rates estimated near 2.8 ± 0.4 to 3.1 ± 0.7 mm per year (1993–2003)." The data is referenced to scientific journals. Floating sea ice won't contribute much but Greenland and Antarctica will.
Obama = worthless conservative no-change suck-up. He's a DEMOPUB = REPUBLICRAT. The US is a one-party tyranny totalitarian regime. Ralph Nader should have been president 2000-2008. Cynthia McKinney should have been president now.
If you Google - GREENLAND HOCKEY STICKS , you would know that temps were HOTTER just 1,000 years ago in the arctic. A warming arctic is and has been natural long before oil or coal use. YES, this has happend before !!!
Methane Releases from Arctic Shelf May Be Much Larger and Faster Than Anticipated
NSF - March 4, 2010.
Research results, published in the March 5 edition of the journal Science, show that the permafrost under the East Siberian Arctic Shelf, long thought to be an impermeable barrier sealing in methane, is perforated and is starting to leak large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. Release of even a fraction of the methane stored in the shelf could trigger abrupt climate warming.
satellite radar altimetry confirms thickening of the Greenland ice sheet. It's not particularly controversial or disputed scientifically. (by left-wing media maybe!)
You can get into endless comparisons of what ice caps/shelfs/ glaciers are melting/thickening, But we know that the net effect is normal as the natural rate of sea level rise remains constant, no acceleration whatsoever.
the vast majority of the ice in the ice cap is on Greenland- over 2 MILES thick and growing ,versus a few feet thick for sea ice. Just looks dramatic on computer animations though

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research.
Fake this is obviously photo-shopped. Have you been outside today, it's cold! That's right cold, if the Earth was warming it would be 80 in December, jeez you guys are gullible.
scientists say carbon trading scams and taxes will cause al gore and goldman sachs to get rich, fund the bombing of 200 million people, and starve 1 billion people in third world nations who can no longer afford food. global warming will actually cause food production to increase and cause less people to starve. global warming would reduce poverty.
There were NO weapons of mass destruction in Iraq - just as Dr. Hans Blix said; But, the Republican media machine didn't want us to hear that.
And, there is NO dangerous climate change caused by human carbon dioxide - just as the "independent scientists" are now trying to tell us! But, the Democrat media machine doesn't want us to hear that.
We are made to run from one boogieman to next, as each political party achieves its own agendas for them & their money mates.
"The most recent period when CO2 levels were as high as today was around 15 million years ago, during the Middle Miocene. CO2 levels were at about 400 ppm.
"What was the climate like at the time? Global temperatures were 5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit higher than they are today.
"Sea level was approximately 75 to 120 feet higher. There was no permanent sea ice cap in the Arctic and very little ice on Antarctica and Greenland. "
climate change is natural... but when we pump shit loads of carbon (from trees!!! and oil/coal) into the air then we r fucking interfering!!! 5 degrees over 500 years... now worries! 5 degrees in 100 years... hello hundreds of millions of homeless buggers!
@mozidigital You do know that we only produce about 3% of the carbon right? We can't even come close to producing as much as one forest fire or volcano.
In the summer of 2008 Billy Connolly set sail on a ten-week journey from ocean to ocean: from the Atlantic to the Pacific, by way of the North West Passage - a legendary route deep within the Arctic Circle that has thwarted explorers and fortune-hunters for centuries. For Cook, Drake and countless other adventurers, the North West Passage has been an alluring but impossible journey.
Now the Arctic is melting at a rate of 36,000 square miles a year and the journey is finally possible.
Can't believe that anyone would argue against CO2 being a greenhouse gas! The science is simple - This planet used to be an extremely hot and volatile place in it's infancy - due to CO2. This was very gradually absorbed by trees and plants which fossilised - fossil fuels. Now we're releasing all that CO2 from the fossilised trees and plants back into the atmosphere and turning the Earth back into a hot and volatile planet - simple!
your an idiot. go learn your history. how do you explain the medieval warming period. or the cold snap during the 50s and 70s or even better how the fuck was there an iceage!!! climate fluctuates naturally.
The earth was very hot in it's infancy because the crust had not yet cooled... not because of the CO2 content. Earth was once a burning ball of gas. It took over 4 billion years for the crust to cool enough for life to exist.
Nobody argues against the fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. However it is a trace gas, and its greenhouse effect is insignificant compared to water vapor, which is the main greenhouse gas in our atmosphere.
err... i should correct myself... earth was a burning ball of molten rock, not gas... that was a typo.
anyway...
Also, CO2 only absorbs a very narrow spectrum of radiation, meaning it's capacity to contain Solarmagnetic radiation is very limited. Not to mention that water vapor overlaps CO2 in the range of radiation that it absorbs, and they can't be absorbing the same energy.
Americans are ignorant and dumb. They still don't get that capitalism failed miserably. France is a much bertter place to live. But the stupid Americans have an opinion without ever even seen France. Dumb is one thing, but combine it with ignorance, well - they have another thing coming. US bridges collapse, power grids fail, levies break, auto indusry fails. America is the best, ha! They still put power lines on wooden tooth picks and then wonder if the storm blows them to pieces etc. Retards.
The french are a bunch of sissies that can't even defend their own country. All they can do is be assholes and talk shit, but they can't back it up.
Well they do make good cheese and wine. They are also masters of the art of surrender.
I am sorry........the french can do a lot of things good. As soon as America falls the russians are going to run all over the french. I am sure they will be the first Europeans to surrender and kissing our asses for help.
@patioperson France was trying to keep a colony. The US was helping an independent nation remain in existence. People that don't know their history should not insult nations of which they are not worthy. (ooh...that's gotta hurt, being revealed as a punk ass little ignorant bitch and all...good luck recovering)
Its not all americans.. just some Americans value ignorance and blind faith in capitalism above reality. Though their numbers have been dwindling recently. OBAMA
You might speak english as a second language so I'll try to explain it to you with out using big words. Obama's entire campaign focused on Change. I replied to a person who called American's ignorant and dumb. I was trying to Imply that American's can change and there is no need to continue the nasty mudslinging that neo-cons (our other political party) love. Obama = change. America can change is all I was trying to say. If you truly hate America though, please continue to rant.
Didn't they just report that there was a 30% increase in the last year? This winter is looking to increase that a little more I'd say. Looks like we are heading into another cool down if the Sun doesn't start cycle 24 soon. HAHA! Get out your parkas Canada! Global warming is going to kill us all!

plenty of proof man, i think waht your saying is that theres no proof that it isnt happening, unless you get your data from loobyist oil paid pseudo-scientists, trying to put doubt in the air
Psuedo scientists are also working for the Green lobby. They have to generate some type of data backing up their claims or else their funding would be cut off.

you cannot make assertions that man changes climate without any real data to back it.
There were Mayans that believed man caused eclipses. What a silly thing to believe, huh. One day mankind will think it was silly for anyone to believe man could change climate.
There was a huge blizzard this past weekend in the Midwest. There was record cold last year in the USA. There has been harsh winters the last 2 years all over the world. This winter is predicted to be harsh also.
climate changes all the time. The earth warms. The earth cools. It has always done this since it's beginning billions of years ago.
you have no proof that man is the cause of any changes in the last 10 years.
before you knee-jerk yourselves into carbon credits, just remember freedom! check out ron paul's campaign for liberty, and his rally for the republic tonight on c-span 2
in my opinion, it started to in the late 70's when nuclear power was shoved down our throats and solar power was ignored. it was claimed to be cheaper fuel, then they started building the nuke plants and by golly gee, it cost more than they thought it would... so your going to have to pay more for your electric bill... now shut up and smile and pay your bill.... and don't you dare say i told you so... what the fuck have we been doing? i guess we can't do anything, and that sucks.
Perhaps not, but we do need the 5%, or whatever it is, of global agricultural land that would be flooded by the 2 kilometer thick ice sheet melting and raising sea level. Not to mention coastal nations/cities with over half a billion people that would have to be repopulated, including areas like Florida in rich countries.
EEEEEER wrong, you mean FORMER agricultural land. all the worlds best farm land is under the asphalt of the major cities of the world. i think it would be poetic justice if those who created this problem where also the ones to pay for it. but you forget all the land that is currently unusable as farmland would be unlocked as the ice recedes just like the land you are prob living on now was once a sheet of ice. global warming will save mankind
lol no it will be more temparate. on the west side of the mountains it rains all the time and temps range from 40 in winter to 80 in summer. on the east side where there is no rain temps range from -5 to 118 the difference is moisture as the poles melt there will be more ambient heat AND more water so more evaperation and more rainfall. global warming is good global cooling is bad 100% of the scientists agree on this fact
When the shit hits the fan, I hope I remember all the people who were spouting self-righteous bullshit about how they personally know that Global Warming is fake.. you ignorant twats are fucking this world up for all of us with your attempts to spread misinformation and doubt in all these videos. Goodbye.
The planet is performing its rotation. Which happens approx every 25,000 years. We may go into an ice age, but the planet has done this multiple times.
You need to go get the book, "The Deniers: The World Renowned Scientists Who Stood Up Against Global Warming Hysteria, Political Persecution, and Fraud**And those who are too fearful to do so"
just google "The Deniers", you can find it on Amazon. The guy interviews 38 of the worlds top scientists, all of whom are skeptical of the idiotic "Global Warming" nonsense, which has no scientific basis, just guesswork, speculation and fraud. No science at all shows manmade "global warming" is going on.
Sorry everyone, I have no idea why the video is skipping (it was fine for the last year or so) but it was time to update it anyway. Will try to get a new one up with the latest on exactly how far the poles have melted asap.
If a video doesn't play continuously, it may be due to your connection speed. You'll need a broadband connection with at least 500+ Kbps for the best viewing experience.
Another possible reason for choppy video playback is that our servers are experiencing high traffic. If this is the case, there's not much you can do. However, we are continuously adding servers to keep up with demand and improve your experience on our site.
It's also possible that your video download speed is slow or inconsistent. In this case, you can try pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded and then playing the video. Occasionally, an incomplete copy of a video can get stuck in your cache and never fully download. You can re-attempt the download by clearing your browser's cache.
bucksatan1: so what, do we just somehow magically get rid of all the bad things in the world and continue our lives in denial that we are slowly killing ourselfs? Instead of sitting at your computer, why don't you go voluenteer to pick up garbage on the highway? Make a graph: How many potato chip bags do you find, how many wrappers? Then you'll see that we can't all live our lives in a deep bliss!!!
Read some of the comments and you will see that all of these disinformation "discussion" points have been dealt with time and time again.
Go somewhere where there are other fools who are foolish enough to listen to your BS.
The rest of us know that this is a serious problem that requires serious solutions.
If you are genuinely interested in raising your IQ level above that of a pig (sorry, pigs are smarter than that), then start off by reading the latest IPCC report.
Excuse me? I am smart enough to not believe the shit coming out of a politician's mouth and believe its "science"
I think your head is far up in Al Gore's ass.
And as I said, this planet is 5 billion years old, we've only been here for so long. We don't know enough about our own planet, our oceans, or Earth's weather history to blame 100 years of warming on us. Especially since the Medieval Warm Period seems so similar to whats happening now. Al Gore is not spewing science, only PROPAGANDA!
It's obvious you are too stupid to read the REAL SCIENCE on the issue.
Like I said, the IPCC report is your best place to start, but I doubt you can read so I'm pretty much just wasting my time. It is the single biggest full consensus peer-reviewed paper in scientific history, with over 2000 leading scientists working on it.
And that report clearly states global warming is a real phenomenon, and human-caused.
You need to start learning to distinguish between propaganda and real science.
Calling an increasing polar bear population endangered is not science.
Even though the Earth may be warming, it is not being caused by humans.
Because if you look beyond that shit.
You would notice, Soar Records of highs and lows sort of match Earth's recent records.
Not to mention the corruption of those scientists? I mean for a while, the Little Ice Age was actually removed from a temp chart, just to gain followers thinking this is the end.
The corruption lies with companies like Exxon who spent $3 BILLION dollars on lobbying, last year alone! Much more money than they spent on trying to find solutions to this problem.
I wouldnt be surprised if thats who is paying you.
Like I said, learn to read (real scientific literature, not propaganda printed by oil companies with too many dollars and not enough sense), or go away.
Not really sure what the "girlie man quotes" stuff is referring to, but yes, GW deniers are definitely in the wrong, and the world has finally woken up to that.
Keep posting positive stuff (there are still a lot of oil-lackeys out there getting paid to disseminate dis-information), but I recommend using a little more research and scientific quotation to back up your statements.
Arnie's cool, but not such a reliable scientific source. ;-)
No, as you can see from the 'Erik the Red' Wikipedia entry:
"About 982, Erik sailed to a somewhat mysterious and little-known land... He eventually reached a part of the coast that, for the most part, seemed ice-free and consequently had conditions—similar to those of Iceland—that promised growth and future prosperity...
He named this land "Greenland" because he wanted to attract other people to it."
Climate and temperature fluctuations are normal, sometimes the planet as a whole is cooler and sometimes warmer. This also applies to various regions regions on the planet which are affected by local climate patterns such as El Nino and La Nina.
Historically the major driving factor on these climate fluctuations tended to be the cycles of the sun. Changes induced by the sun were then reinforced by escalating CO2 levels.
This time, humanity has unleashed a massive source of stored CO2, in the form of coal and oil, and the driving force behind climate change is now humankind's CO2 emissions.
This is, in turn, driving a chain reaction which is unleashing more CO2, causing CO2 levels to soar way above anything in the history of the entire human race. CO2 levels in the atmosphere are probably at their highest now than for the last 400,000 years or so.
The massive injection of CO2 into the atmosphere is already causing severe climate change, and due to time lags in the climate system will continue to do so, directly, for at least another 30 years.
If humanity doesn't stop polluting the planet with CO2, we are going to be up the proverbial creek within the next couple of decades, caught up in a storm of climate chaos of our own doing.
Just pray you, and anyone you care about, is not around to see it, cause it is not going to be pretty.
yeh the video sucks (i assume thats what you meant), but losing half of the arctic circle in less than thirty years sucks even more.. and losing half of greenland will suck so bad you won't even be able to complain about it..
i will try to update it with the latest figures (and maybe try to make it a little better quality..) when i can.
yeh, losing the arctic sucks.. for one thing, now the russians, norwegians, canadians and americans are all going to start fighting over who gets to drill for oil there. oh, the irony.
but seriously though, losing greenland and antarctica sucks even more, the reason being that the 2km of ice on greenland and 4km of ice on antarctica are not floating. when they hit the water (and that has started already), sea levels will rise dramatically. killing and displacing millions.
The latest from Dr. James Hansen, head of NASA, is a call for even stricter emissions limits.
Search for the paper "Target Atmospheric CO2: Where Should Humanity Aim?" at Columbia University.
The most difficult task, phase-out over the next 20-25 years of coal use that does not capture CO2, is herculean.. The stakes, for all life on the planet, surpass those of any previous crisis. The greatest danger is continued ignorance and denial, which could make tragic consequences unavoidable.
According to Al Gore's predictions this wasn't supposed to happen.
Now the alarmists are saying only SEA ICE (yes they capitalize it) is growing as if some how it's warmer over land in Antarctica and the ice is melting there. But its land ice gets thicker every year for 1000's of years now. Yearly snow compresses underlying snow into ice.
No, global warming is not a hoax. It is a well-documented phenomenon that could cause catastrophes on a scale yet unimaginable to human civilization. Making a few bucks today is not worth the risk of losing the planet tomorrow.
You're either being paid by oil companies or other business interests to promote dis-information or you're a fool who doesn't know how to read.
If you know how to read start off with the IPCC report, and remember, the strongest IPCC scenario has been exceeded already.
Unfortunately with the massive subsidies paid to Big Oil, taxpayers around the planet are paying for their propaganda machines which will end up making the lives of those same taxpayers worse.
Funny thing about this data from the Universtiy of Illinois, USA: whoever released it added this to it--"The Southern Hemisphere sea ice area narrowly surpassed the previous historic maximum of 16.03 million sq. km to 16.17 million sq. km."
That is a difference of 140,000 sq. km. That equals 86,991 sq. mi.
They say 86,991 square miles had "narrowly surpassed" the previous record?
MORE bullsh*t! Not only is it out of date (first references to that crap started in October 2007) it's downright wrong.
Who are you? And who is paying you to write that crap on the web?
The NSIDC report has the latest summaries of NASA satellite imagery and the British Antarctic Survey results of (southern hemisphere) summer ice watches. They say "In the past 50 years, the western Antarctic Peninsula has experienced the biggest temperature increase on Earth."
What is the agenda of a person who deliberately produces a doctored
abstraction of a (still available) satellite record for northern summer
period only when the full source video clearly shows ice fully returning
in the winter? These 20 last years the waters haven't risen and for the
last 3 years our UK winters are now coming with more snow. Politicians
probably now suspect they have capitulated to a non-existent problem
created by cashstrapped research scientists at huge cost 2 our economies

I need to see evidance of melting ice caps- and to me, that mean rising sea levels....
superbruce 1 year ago
@superbruce I think (from memory) The Arctic ice is not that much in volume, so there is not much rise associated with it. It is also "floating" and if you remember Archimedes it will displace as much water as its weight (which is close to water as it is ice!). Arctic ice is seen as an indicator of health for the much more massive Greenland ice sheet which is close by. I'll see if I can find anything more about this and post it here.
indulis1 1 year ago
@superbruce "If small glaciers and polar ice caps on the margins of Greenland and the Antarctic Peninsula melt, the projected rise in sea level will be around 0.5 m. Melting of the Greenland ice sheet would produce 7.2 m of sea-level rise, and melting of the Antarctic ice sheet would produce 61.1 m of sea level rise." w i k i pedia / w i k i / Current_sea_level_rise (with science references). 20cm rise since 1900.
indulis1 1 year ago
@superbruce That could be helpful here..I have heard that the Antarctic ice sheet has actually expanded ove rhte past several years/decades ( ? )
superbruce 1 year ago
@superbruce Why don't you people do some basic research? Go to Wikipedia, look up "Current sea level rise" and the first sentence says: ""Current sea level rise has occurred at a mean rate of 1.8 mm per year for the past century, and more recently, during the satellite era of sea level measurement, at rates estimated near 2.8 ± 0.4 to 3.1 ± 0.7 mm per year (1993–2003)." The data is referenced to scientific journals. Floating sea ice won't contribute much but Greenland and Antarctica will.

Thunderthor1988 2 years ago
The earth was very hot in it's infancy because the crust had not yet cooled... not because of the CO2 content. Earth was once a burning ball of gas. It took over 4 billion years for the crust to cool enough for life to exist.
Nobody argues against the fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. However it is a trace gas, and its greenhouse effect is insignificant compared to water vapor, which is the main greenhouse gas in our atmosphere.
Thill029 2 years ago
err... i should correct myself... earth was a burning ball of molten rock, not gas... that was a typo.
anyway...
Also, CO2 only absorbs a very narrow spectrum of radiation, meaning it's capacity to contain Solarmagnetic radiation is very limited. Not to mention that water vapor overlaps CO2 in the range of radiation that it absorbs, and they can't be absorbing the same energy.

Northpole is gone this year.
If the ice aroud Greenland and Southpole is gone this will happen.
a:
The ice worked as a warmreflecter too the sun.
If gone water work as warmkeeper and absorber.
means the melting off greenland and Southpols melt faster.
b: freshwater lake will appear on the land making the ice moving faster too the sea.
And there is not enough snow comming in the winter too keep the ice status.
So Fact is THIS IS AN ACCELERATING MELT EFFECT

From Support Pages:
If a video doesn't play continuously, it may be due to your connection speed. You'll need a broadband connection with at least 500+ Kbps for the best viewing experience.
Another possible reason for choppy video playback is that our servers are experiencing high traffic. If this is the case, there's not much you can do. However, we are continuously adding servers to keep up with demand and improve your experience on our site.
GetLuckier 3 years ago
It's also possible that your video download speed is slow or inconsistent. In this case, you can try pausing the video until the entire stream is downloaded and then playing the video. This is natural. Whenever I hear an alarmist speak, I never hear about the sun, nor do I ever hear about polar shift.
I'm sure you never heard of the Medieval Warm Period, where they had the same pattern of warming, yet, no motor vehicles during that time.
The Little Ice Age Followed, which has reported to end around late 19th century.
WE DO NOT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT EARTH TO CALL GLOBAL WARMING "SCIENCE"!
Now please, let us use Alaskan Oil.

GetLuckier 3 years ago
Al Gore is not spewing science, only PROPAGANDA!
silvercondouloboy06 3 years ago
It's obvious you are too stupid to read the REAL SCIENCE on the issue.
Like I said, the IPCC report is your best place to start, but I doubt you can read so I'm pretty much just wasting my time. It is the single biggest full consensus peer-reviewed paper in scientific history, with over 2000 leading scientists working on it.
And that report clearly states global warming is a real phenomenon, and human-caused.
You need to start learning to distinguish between propaganda and real science.
GetLuckier 3 years ago
There is no "REAL SCIENTISTS"
This isn't Science.
I mean for a while, the Little Ice Age was actually removed from a temp chart, just to gain followers thinking this is the end.
silvercondouloboy06 3 years ago
Who is paying you to write this crap?!

Arnie's cool, but not such a reliable scientific source. ;-)

But wasn't Greenland actually GREEN when the vikings named it a few hundred years ago anyway?
davegriff555 3 years ago
No, as you can see from the 'Erik the Red' Wikipedia entry:
"About 982, Erik sailed to a somewhat mysterious and little-known land... He eventually reached a part of the coast that, for the most part, seemed ice-free and consequently had conditions—similar to those of Iceland—that promised growth and future prosperity...
He named this land "Greenland" because he wanted to attract other people to it."
Not because it was actually green.

BUT, this time it is different.
GetLuckier 3 years ago
This time, humanity has unleashed a massive source of stored CO2, in the form of coal and oil, and the driving force behind climate change is now humankind's CO2 emissions.
This is, in turn, driving a chain reaction which is unleashing more CO2, causing CO2 levels to soar way above anything in the history of the entire human race. CO2 levels in the atmosphere are probably at their highest now than for the last 400,000 years or so.
GetLuckier 3 years ago
The massive injection of CO2 into the atmosphere is already causing severe climate change, and due to time lags in the climate system will continue to do so, directly, for at least another 30 years.
If humanity doesn't stop polluting the planet with CO2, we are going to be up the proverbial creek within the next couple of decades, caught up in a storm of climate chaos of our own doing.
Just pray you, and anyone you care about, is not around to see it, cause it is not going to be pretty.

WOW tht sucks
slayerguitar 3 years ago
yeh the video sucks (i assume thats what you meant), but losing half of the arctic circle in less than thirty years sucks even more.. and losing half of greenland will suck so bad you won't even be able to complain about it..
i will try to update it with the latest figures (and maybe try to make it a little better quality..) when i can.
GetLuckier 3 years ago
no the vid proves a point thank you for posting... is does suck losing the artic.
slayerguitar 3 years ago
wow, quick reply! :-)
yeh, losing the arctic sucks.. for one thing, now the russians, norwegians, canadians and americans are all going to start fighting over who gets to drill for oil there. oh, the irony.
but seriously though, losing greenland and antarctica sucks even more, the reason being that the 2km of ice on greenland and 4km of ice on antarctica are not floating. when they hit the water (and that has started already), sea levels will rise dramatically. killing and displacing millions.

Shit happens
Jullebrus 3 years ago
..and then you die.
Or more specifically, millions of poverty-stricken people around the world, mostly Africans and Asians, die.
But you don't care about them right?
Well, those of us who aren't racist rednecks do care.
We think that it's not fair that while we ride around in our gas-guzzlers people do not have enough food to eat.
We think it's not fair that the world's poorest have to pay for the luxuries of the world's richest with their lives.
We think global warming must be stopped.

ANTARCTIC ICE GROWS TO RECORD SIZE
It is now at 16.17 million sq. km.
The old record is 16.03 million sq. km
And it is still growing.

I hope taxpayers aren't paying their salaries.

Unfortunately with the massive subsidies paid to Big Oil, taxpayers around the planet are paying for their propaganda machines which will end up making the lives of those same taxpayers worse.

....cont
Funny thing about this data from the Universtiy of Illinois, USA: whoever released it added this to it--"The Southern Hemisphere sea ice area narrowly surpassed the previous historic maximum of 16.03 million sq. km to 16.17 million sq. km."
That is a difference of 140,000 sq. km. That equals 86,991 sq. mi.
They say 86,991 square miles had "narrowly surpassed" the previous record?
NARROWLY??
That's the size of Minnesota!
O how narrowly that record was broken!

So shut up and go away. Fool.
