This is my last comment about this issue. It's fruitless debating someone in a public forum when it's obviously just between us. I've already responded more times than I should have. If you do end up finding an actual discrepancy in the list, then please mail me about it and I will correct it. Otherwise, as I've stated before, you are free to make a "complete" list on your own if that helps to subside your criticism.
COD also has "ranks," which is just another term for levels. It's the exact same thing as Dirge of Cerberus, it's just not displayed as prominently. The core game play for both are that of shooters though; anyone should be able to see this.
As for incorporating Japanese games into this list, do you realize that this is not a director account and videos can only be 10 minutes long? As the video stands right now, it's 9:41 and I had to shorten it.
It's a complete NTSC-U, and PAL list. In all of my lists, aside from this one, I mention this. The fact that this list is so huge, I had to remove that part out of the video information. I figured anyone viewing it would be able to guess that it's a complete North American and European list.
Some games have systems where you level up weapons, or armor, but that doesn't make them RPGs either; ie. Dead Space, COD. They are only RPG elements; not the core game play.
You may consider it an RPG, but I do not. It's not on any other official RPG lists and although it's listed under Wikipedia as a "Third-person shooter, action RPG," that doesn't mean that it's an RPG. Wikipedia is edited by masses of regular people and it can say anything. If I consider it an RPG, I might as well consider Dead Space and COD RPGs. It has RPG elements, but it is not an RPG itself. If you disagree with me, you are free to compile your own list and post it.
@SeedyGamer cod doesn't have any rpg elements but you also have your own opinion, but i usually characterize rpgs to have a leveling up system, but in all honesty you need to compile a list of rpgs that span from America to japan and everywhere else, or else its not technically a complete list
i want to get an rpg for ps2 because im not to fond of new games, but i have a hard time trusting japanese rpg's to be good... Are any of them good and are there any you would recommend?
@DodgeCompany that's sort of a problem. I myself don't realize that there's actually a gap between JRPG and ERPG. If you ask me, I would recommend you CAPCOM games for its good quality such as Monster Hunter 2 in case that you prefer an action-JRPG, then .HACK//G.U. Series, that's also an acton-JRPG. Xenosaga Series, athough i've never played it, but i think that's a great game. Then don't forget, Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts II, that's actually an action-JPRG game.
@DodgeCompany It all depends on what you're looking for in a game. This list is a good place to start, but you can always break them down further by combat style, story, and other game elements. Most RPGs are made in Japan, so you'll have a short list if you just eliminate all of them. Off the top of my head, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance was made in America. If you like that there's Champions of Norath, Demon Stone, and the Dark Alliance II.
Hey! Thanks for the response! I'm glad you like the list.
Ys IV: Mask of the Sun: A New Theory was actually removed from my list before putting it up. I have yet to see a scan of a North American version. If you supply one, I will re-make the list and give you credit though. =)
I have an extensive RPG collection myself, though it's very possible that I have missed this one. If, in fact, you have an actual NTSC-U copy, or PAL version, shoot me a private message!
Awesome list, but you forgot Ys IV: Mask of the Sun... that's the only one I noticed, though. It will help me with sorting and collecting my collection.

@SeedyGamer You could put NTSC-U and PAL list in the title, that would solve THAT silly debate.
And Dirge of Cerberus as an RPG is debatable...

Dirge of Cerberus is more along the lines of a third person shooter.

@SeedyGamer I was mistaken, its Japanese, but if anyone has a subbed version at least, let me know.

Also loved your PS1 list as well.
