I just got a schecter Blackjack ATX with blackouts but its having fret buzz problems and a problem with two of the machine heads. If the store I bought it from won't fix it I'm going to exchange it for a Xiphos (providing they let me exchange it for one).

I played a Xhipos before and it was sick.. Like a Dean ML but not as big and bulky. So how are you liking the Blackouts over the D-Activators?

I gotta be honest, just go to a nice guitar luthier and get the blackjack set up (as much as I hate shecter) because my Xiphos was a POS before i took it in to get it's frets leveled and things like that. anyways, the xiphos is really quite comfortable, and the blackouts destroy the D-activators

Yeah I would be totally happy with the guitar if it didn't have the tuning machine problem and the fret buzz problem. I did bring it into the store I bought it from and they crowned the frets but did nothing about the tuning machine. When I got the guitar back it buzzed even more then when I brought it in. More specifically on the G string. Apparently they didn't even try the guitar out after the tech crowned the frets either. Maybe I will take it in and ask them to level the frets this time.

I'm not sure if I really trust the tech that works at the store I bought it from so taking it to someone else would probably be a better idea but then that will cost out of my pocket.

I mean like an actual luthier, not a guitar center luthier. do some searching around your area and find someone with specializes in it. Guitar shops suck for fixing guitars most of the time
