  • 4 wheel drive gives you twice the traction of 2 wheel drive. Unfortunately 2 times nothing is still nothing.

  • durr hurr 4wd i am invincible omigod a ditch what do

  • freezing rain vs a DUMB DRIVER THAT WHAT THE TITEL SHOULD BE CALLED

  • all go and no stop or steer

  • You're all fools. It's a Nissan Pathfinder, it was just finding a new path!

  • @Lampy1978 well, are you funny mister!

    ok, it was funny. :P

  • Enabling the 4X4 is to remove the drag on the front end of your vehicle when on ice not to gain more traction. People need to learn what their automatic and manual transmision can really do for them on ice.

  • that's what happens when u drive a foreign car... here's the number to a gmc dealer 636-842-4200

  • @JOSHENLOE1 Forgot your pills today, Billy Bob ?

  • you can have 7082740587240587 wheel drive but it doesn't matter on ice

  • @jdomes i think it would matter at that point, assuming we're talking about typical automobile-sized wheels. You would pretty much have a personal tunnel system on wheels that encircled the entire globe several million times.

  • @itisivon haha really man, I was obviously wasn't serious about that many tires. haha

  • In the ice You Think Cars bet Ice Ice Are a Sinple Thing That Gives You a PossAbillty to Draft and Slide on your tummy/Ass/Boobs/nakedGirl/Car

  • All 4 wheels may be driven, but if zero brain cells are active, you've no chance.

  • My brother thought his 4x4 was the greatest until he got stuck and my dad had 2wd with chains and made it easily.

  • The plow wouldn't work at all if it was on the pavement, because there is no snow on the pavement. Whoever posted this video is rather clueless. The only thing that can rectify the icy situation is salt/de-icer. A plow would only scrape up the road surface now....they aren't meant to get thin layers of ice off the road, just the snow...hence the term "snow plow".

  • It's a pity that they should be wasting time and money because of being unaware that a simple device is able to prevent their car troubled on snow and ice. I wonder why a good news should take years to prevail.

  • to all u smart people who think u r invinsible in your awd or 4 wd lmfao

  • yeah all cars have 4 wheel brakes. 4 while drive doesn't help you stop.

  • at last..someone has noticed!! thanks!

  • @ItalianAvalanche Oops, my bad, I couldnt agree more with that statement, but I gave you a thumbs down by mistake lol.

  • if the blades were on the pavement it would rip off the pavement

and the road would be rough

which would be good for snowy weather, but u'd have to repave the road to do it again

  • Four wheel drive doesn't help if u drive too fast.

  • @Rubes2525

4 wheel drive doesn't help at all. I have driven a 2 wheel drive car, on a highway, with heavy freezing rain coming down, and I was shooting a video camera with 1 hand at the time and driving with the other hand and I didn't have a problem.

  • @Zorrachus you are an idiot thats all, obviously the road wasn;t frozen because if it was even two hands on a steering wheel wouldn't help you. And 4wd helps alot in all conditions but only if you understand that you can gain speed with 4wd it won't be so easy to stop that car because when it comes to stoping 4wd don't help at all. Its simple as that.

  • @Rubes2525 That and you don;t know how to drive.

  • the driver does make the biggest difference but 4x4 does have more control than just acceleration it will also help keep u strait as long as u know how to use it and if you put it in 4low it will help u descend a hill using all 4 wheels to keep your speed down with out using brakes that a 2 wheel cant do.i have driven both and in these conditions i prefer 4x4 with a manual transmission because u can slow down without using your brakes. from many miles of experience and no accidents

  • Comment removed

  • Speed kills, especially on snow and ice. The reason that pathfinder is in a funny parking spot is because he was going too fast for conditions.

4WD or not, going too fast always has the same result. My wallet gets fatter when I show up to wench you out.

  • Put it this way i know someone who had a Cherokee and it was so icy he thought that he would show off so he did and he overturned his 4X4.

  • Over-confidence was the problem.

  • Wow you guys are stupid. Does anyone who read this even drive in the snow? I have taken many 2 wheel drive cars where 4wd drivers got stuck or too scared. It has alot more to do with who is driving then what your driving.

  • yea!!!

  • if your running a 2 wheel drive through more than an 4x4 ide like to see this 2wd truck or thease 4x4 are just garbage

  • @quadit321 Open ended rear end, meaning only one wheel is powered at a time. I drove 150 miles a day through a whole winter in utah. There were several times when I was the only person to make it in because of the snow.

  • that doesnt mean he had 4wheel drive engaged. when he went off the road

  • It doesn't matter if it was 4 wheel drive or two wheel drive. Breaking and cornering are not affected by that. 4 Wheel drive just means better take-off and accerlation and a bit more stability. i.e. no fish tailing rwd style.

  • 4 WHEEL DRIVE = 4 WHEEL SLIDE.

  • Like Bakiegw below me, most do expect too much. I have a jeep, and I love it, winter driving cant be better without it. The 4x4 is only good to get up and go, and through deep snow. Otherwise the 4x4 is a death trap, if you start to lose control, your fucked with 4 wheel on. And they do not help braking one bit.

  • What nonsense! Your death trap sentence tells the tale of your lack of expertise driving a 4x4 in adverse conditions. I drive a full size Chevy truck in Minnesota. 4WD has kept me safely on the road and IN CONTROL, while everyone else was bound for the ditch, many times. In 2WD, I've hit black ice, gone sideways, engaged 4WD, and righted myself. And yes, 4x4 has nothing to do with braking, at all. Braking on an icy road, as some are mindlessly apt to do, is probably why they're in the weeds.

  • What are you talking about? You cannot engage 4x4 with tires spinning in different speeds, they need to be stationary, or going 25/35 whatever all of them or you will kill you four wheel drive, read your drivers manual. If your rear tires hit black ice, they instantly go faster, while your front tires are not.

  • Wrong! My differential synchronization is computer governed. Can hit Auto4WD button at any speed. Within seconds, engages seemlessly and is working. I am also, not still on the accelerator. Further, this can be left on and engages ONLY WHEN the computer detects all wheels are NOT spinning at the same speed. Such as a black ice condition. Have used this truck in this manner for ten years without detriment to 4x4 at all. My manual doesn't put that restriction on me. I do not have to lock any hubs.

  • that would be true but the lack of friction on ice would keep his transfer case and differentials from binding and breaking, but I still wouldnt recommend it, I would be using 4wd before getting into that kind of situation

  • Yeah exactly.... And kaiser0effenhiemer, I don't have to lock hubs either. I just wanted a rig where I have full control over the 4x4 instead of pushing a button to get it turned on. In winter I have it in 4x4 most of the time unless I am on the roads by myself. And for the record, I have yet to be in an accident in snowy/icy conditions. Nor been close, I have probably been off-roading in clear/wet/icy conditions probably longer than you have been on this planet. I just do not use a computer!!

  • 4x4 drivers usually expect too much from their vehicle

  • gerrit van zindejuchtje

  • is that a nissan pathfinder. find a path.

  • JoshIsDope843 , my god this city is full of idiots.. cops are this cops are that.. and now the driver of the front end loader who by liability is NOT qualified to help pull the truck out? Seriously when are you people ever happy?

  • nobody said anything about pullin the guy out. he shouldve been scraping the road. the blade wasnt even down. he was a dumbass, like you.

  • ahh nice to see that front loader go right on by..just like the cops around here but they usally way as they drive by

  • First post.
