Danny Gill You are Amazing Man! He plays Great and is a Awesome teacher, thanks for all i learning from You, i have the magazine of licklibrary always in the mail of my house! Lol Keep Fucking Rock Man!
I really want this DVD set!!!!! I just have to come up with an extra $100 dollars somewhere!!! I have bought a lot of lick library DVD's and you guys are the best. I am ready to get out of my standard blues & pentatonic stuff... I have tried to learn all this stuff on my own but it just gets so hard when the wealth of information is thrown at you and you dont know where to put it!
hey, ive been playing guitar for around four years now. however, i can only really stay in the one place, on the fretboard when soloing, usually only being able to work in the one area. i would love to solo all over the fretboard, could you advise me in what dvds of yours you think that i would benefit from?
im a fan of the eagles, queens of the stone age etc, many thanks you can email me on dan1cor@hotmail.com
@alsem333 Hi there we only cover the modes of the harmonized major scale which is all the 7 , but there is a section on the Phrygian dominant mode on the dvd 'The Phrygian Scale' which you can purchase separately. We will send you the link and you can decide whether this DVD would be benificial to you or not. Hope that helps.
Danny Gill. Probably the most jovial teacher ever in this world.. :) I can never get bored watching his dvd's even a thousand times.. Such a great man filled with power and enthusiasm.. :)
Dude this guy is like the best guitar teacher EVER, there might be guys that can shred better but the way this guys explains everything is totally awesome, not to mention he can play GREAT. Andy James and Danny Gill are the best
ok so although the modes are listed according the the players who use them above, how do I get to use that particular mode across the entire neck? Like let's say if I wanted to use the Lydian mode would that mean that I would just use the lydian mode in all it's different keys or would I have to mix my scales a bit. I know the major scale, Its modes, the minor scale, the minor melodic, the blues and minor pentatonic scale. Thanks
Are there any tracks that Satriani wrote with the Locrian? I can't really find any, surely it would be better with mixolydian or lydian? Just what I think, Santana would suit Locrian? I don't know it just sounds like it to me :s
@afwef1 every DVD goes into depth about each mode ie. DVD1 - Ionian - DVD2 - Dorian - DVD3 - Phrygian etc. every one goes into thorough depth about each mode, and where to apply it and a couple of licks and ideas to apply =]
ok got a question i have been playing for about 4 years and i am a ok guitarist not great but i hold my own i was wandering what i should do get this or the pentotonic i love steve via but i also love Zakk wylde right now im kinda stuck i use the same lick and its starting to get boring i love to play but its like everything i do soundsthe same and i use a pentetonic scales well mostly minor and just wanna branch out and play all over the neck sweep and stuff and build my left hand strength?
@vwjodyme Hi there they are as follows - Ionian; Slash, Dorian; Santana, Phrygian; Yngwie, Steve Vai; Lydrian, Van Halen; Mixolydian, Aeolian; Michael Schenker, Locrian; Joe Satriani, Hope that helps!
@GuitarEbb thats the only problem i have with this guy, hes an a amazing player dont get me wrong way better than most, but i dont like his vibrato, its just to my ear i dont know how to explain it, i think Andy James's is perfect , i am still going to get these videos though cause i do need some help with my theory
@GuitarEbb yeah ive bought alot of the LL stuff, more Andys Videos than anything else, but always been a fan of Danny too, he is an amazing teacher probably the best they got and fantastic player, the only "issue" i have with his style is his vibrato, hes great dont get me wrong im not trashing the guy, just to my ear his vibrato is a little off, but its all a personal taste thing im sure, hes still great
@razrX i agree the way you bend your notes is one of the biggest things that defines your style, playing a fast scales or run is one thing but doesnt define you as much as your vibrato, thats what makes you be able to tell different guitarist apart by just listening to a few seconds of a song.
@lawson25303 all technique is important to have, if you ask me speed and vibrato are both good to have. what really makes a good guitarist is what you do with the notes you play. in other words if you play a fast scale but there is no rhythm order or anytype of personality to it its just gonna sound boring. also though if you spend to much time slowed down trying to make it sound meaningful you can tend to make it sound just as boring as the person going a million miles an hour.
