How to share your internet connection over ethernet with another device

after doing the step at 0:56 i get a pop up saying "an error occurred while internet connection sharing was enabled.

the dependency service or group failed to start." can u help?

im using windows 7 that is a laptop with wirless internet i connected a ethernet cable to my desktop which has windows xp i cant connect them and i did every thnig u said please help :(

if i use this process to connect my Toshiba-Satellite 2230, with my Acer-Aspire machine, will the 2000XP on the acer automatically remove the old windows 98 on the toshiba? what i wanna do is keep using my acer, but have the toshiba laptop for mobility. someone said, 2000XP would run slow on the toshiba, but how slow?? do you think it might blow the toshibas whole system?
