  • Back when music was easy to listen to ...I wonder if they actually did have a green tambourine???

  • cool

  • Pete Towhshend milked this bloddy riff.

  • Wow, this and yellow submarine, the two songs that show you have to be high to write.

  • good idea

    i like

  • 19 people dont smoke weed

  • thumbs up if anybody really knows what green tambourine means...... i didnt think so...

  • The first time I heard this song , I was listening to my sears transistor radio outside because my parents hated rock n' roll . We had a 67 Mustang in the driveway and it was new . Feel free to come to my page , lots of great music videos . Not a sub hound , just love music . Don't limit yourself .

  • yes status quo ?no. not sony music!!!!

  • Was this song written by Status Quo?

Or did they just do a cover of it?

  • This studio version is untouchable -live versions are not as accoustic.. a blast from old radio days, its still reachin people.. who wudda thunk?/ its got some innocence and pscychedilic undertones.. like great perfume- undertones, notes.. now I am trippin

  • The video is pretty entertaining, too....

  • thumbs up if you hate it when people ask you to put your thumbs up in reply to a comment!!

  • @MrSofakinggreat QUIET YOU!

  • Exceptional song. We used to run a pub and this was often played on the jukebox and that was in the eighties!!!

  • @08DENMAN I played it!!!

  • why does youtube make me figure out the damn criptic letters in that box everytime i want to leave a message?! to make sure i'm not what???? i want to know!!! i think it's just harrassment! why do they have to make it so difficult? i've been other places that used less letters, and they were easier to desipher. so if that works ok, then why make it so difficult here?? it's just harrassment and i don't know what i ever did to them to deserve this..

  • @huntthehunters yah, i like denmark, i think just about everything is legal there. i grew up here in america believing it was the fault of the bible belt and the religious fanatics that have all our fun banned, and maybe that was once the case. but now, i think it's just the tight grip of control that our gov. has on us. but i ask again, how could prop 19 be defeated in the most liberal state in the union, we voted, what happened?

  • 52tele Hi what a great video. I would say one of the best I have ever encountered here on the Tube. Song is perfect for it too :-) yeah hippies.

  • Was a bit 'lifted' and driving the other day with the windows down in the car when this song randomly came on. So fucking good. To bad I was born 17 years after it came out. 60s music is the shit.

  • @Horrorfan309 you can still get meth?! where? lol. theivery corp. and try 'snake river conspiricy' 'you and your friend' and ask your brother for me if he knows where i can find some 'B.T." will you? he was electronica and as popular as all the rest like sasha, digweed , except i can not find him here on youtube. thanx!

  • nice, 60s ruled! much better than this auto-tuned "music" we have these days.

    60's music > today's music.

  • its a face looking at a leg of a table and two guys looking at each other!!!

  • I like to get high to this, crimson and clover, and incense peppermint

  • @ratonmickey83 wtf you mean "use to?!?" i still do! lol

  • @yambarudan

hahh! now i got it, thx ;-)

  • a good example of the golden days of 1960s pirate stations (Radio Caroline, Radio London etc) anchored 3 miles off englands eastern shore-DJs would hear a song they liked and play it often so that it caught on--- the Govt made them illegal-gave us BBC Radio 1 - we were left with the rubbish we still have to this day where the DJ plays a song that some faceless bureaucrat committee has chosen with"help" from the record company-no wonder theres so much trash around-BRING BACK THE PIRATES!!!!!!!!

  • @tim60s321 AMEN BROTHER

  • @KissthisMeniscus14 yeah like WTF how did that not pass? Was everyone stoned that should have voted that day or what. Totally fucked up. I'm in Floriduh and was so praying that this would happen...sigh. Geezuz on a stick we were counting on you people damn it. A thousand curses!!!!!!!!!!!!! • By far one of the greatest old songs

  • Listen as I in hale dub within a sheath as the bells chime within my mind. Hey Mr. Tam Man, will you please take me for a glide? Fob Filling in for Bob Dylan 1941-1966.

  • Congrats Bob...a very fine presentation and it's great to hear all the tracks clearly...I remember this when it first came out...this and Jimi

  • i hate that Sony Music Entertainment blocked some of my favorit songs

  • i'm 15... the 60's, 70's, and 80's were the best things to happen to music.

so much better then the shit most people my age are into.

  • @OddlyRandomPro oh god no kidding hippie pyshchedelic bands are the bomb. The era we were born into is tone def. it's all computers.

  • Hey, I haven't heard the original in ages. Thanks!

  • how can upload a video with this song or anather song from sony and getting BLOCKED about copyright like you please help me

  • Superb video...10/10...Peace..Jake

  • yup Sony's a lot more fun to play with than f#cking WMG

    :)

  • Big numbers...congrats s'bob

  • this sounds better than the recess version

  • its shakespeare in the first picture....

  • i love how this song doesn't quite end

  • They should play this during the Super Bowl Halftime show !

  • I hear this song EVERYDAY at work D: Especially in the mornings on the radio station that plays. So, now when I hear it, I think of my job... and since I'm always cleaning when it comes on, that also comes to mind. I'll admit though, it can be VERY addicting lol.

  • This was the #1 song in the USA when sportscaster Kenny Albert came into the world.

  • The best band since the Beatles and SOAD

  • Bob Fripp hates the Lizard album and yet many Crimson fans, myself included, think it's their best work! Green tambourine made a few bob for them so in a way, don't knock it!

  • you know whats funny? they HATED this song..and it was their only #1 hit

  • How much of today's "music" will still be played 40+ years from now?

  • @genesisisok not much.... thats for sure

  • godly song.

  • the pictures are wayyy trippy

  • Violins!

  • I'll never foget this song/ This was an easy to sing along to song, so I did just that. I liked the musical/instrumental sounds, particular the way it ended....boom boom boom whatever....the disjockey often cut in, so you wouldn't get to enjoy the ending of the song. I also put the bass up on this one, like most others I personally would play on the stereo consul.....when no one was around of course. Thx4 postin. this colorful tamborine.

  • Wtf with the snowman. O_o

  • Heavily promoted on kppc in the late 60's

  • @pipodred1997 where are you from?

  • cool

  • I found out about this song from the Reccess Movie :D hahaa

  • @pipodred1997 I'm in Spain right now. I guess it is something to do with Portugal alone. I just hope you can find a way to watch them.

  • Did you draw some of these telecasterbob?

  • why don't some terrorists spike the water supply with LSD ???

society would crumble in a few hours

  • @lowaces Or we all might just become something collectively so much more beautiful.

  • @19Aries91 that might be true but do you know how many people out there are straight edged geeks and square like seymour skinner from the simpsons who cries because he smelt some marijuana smoke in vietnam-- can you imagine all the TV newsreporters on acid trying to read the news-- meanwhile all the smart people are hanging out by the water fountains

  • @lowaces Yeah, I get ya. Still, I have faith for most of us. I feel that on acid (even better, shrooms), people couldn't help but see the great revelations smacking in the face in the midst of their trips. I mean, shit, I haven't been doing anything for much more than a year & a half, & now I've got little left to experience. Everyone could use a good ego death.

  • @19Aries91 last time i did acid was in 2005 i went to an Oasis concert and i couldn't understand why people were clapping, then i saw oasis again in 2008 and i was drunk on hard liquor clapping my hands and singing along

most people are to afraid to do LSD and they use the fact that its illegal as a cop out then they spend the rest of the time critisizing the govt

i'd sure like to do some acid about now, its nice weather !!!

  • @lowaces i really want to do acid but i dont have the time or place to do it... i was slipped an hallucinogen one time and i had a horrible trip but im willing to give it another shot but where would b a good place cuz im still in highschool i have no friends with safe houses

  • @systemofaserj don't it'll ruin your life acid is nasty stuff, people have killed themselves while on it. I say it's not worth the risk. But, that's just me. We all make our own decisions.

  • @systemofaserj u should take the acid and stick it up ur culo or cula

  • lucy in the sky with diamonds certainly set off a tagent

  • what is the type of art that one can see 2 different artwork in the same picture?

  • @sexymama1966 i thinks its called illlusions but it may have another name :D

  • @11SLEW11 thanks:D

  • i love this song

  • @pipodred1997 Just put USA as your country, what logic should you have for that?

  • trippy

  • the background music well cure any pain

  • i heard the recess version wen i was like 7 or 8 and i already was in a psychadelic state~

  • No I disagrre totally - It no more sounds like the Archies than Jingle Jangle

  • FAVORITE SONG :)

  • Now listen while I'll play.....my Green Tambourine.... :D

  • This sounds like The Archies...anyone agree?

  • @Juan321C The Archies would have to take tabs of acid to sound like this..hehe.

  • @Juan321C My grandpa was ARCHIE!!!

  • @pipodred1997 what country do you live in?

  • Whatever became of The Lemon Pipers. This is so ikonic of '68, but I remember no other music of theirs - bar "Rice is nice", vaguely.

  • ah the good ol days

  • Does anyone other than me c William Shakespeare at the begining LOL

  • This is the late 60s and Malcom and I are in a strip club in Soho, I think on Greek Street. This plays whenever a fabulous black girl dances and we have to wait for her to come back and dance again. We were late teens and away for a day for our company in London and couldn't wait to get the job finished and head for the clubs.

  • Now, where did I put my green tambourine? Oh, yeah...

  • Being only 25 years old. I rather listen to the cool grovy 60's and70's music then crap they air now. This song is awesome

  • @scottiehottie4u2 1969 stoned out of my mind #1 hits every day.

    I mean every day.

  • @scottiehottie4u2 I'm fourteen, and exactly the same way-- the psychedelic stuff is far better than what is around now. And this song is fantastic.

  • oh yeah this is way better than music now i'm fifteen and i can't stand my ages music

  • @scottiehottie4u2 you said it, dude. same here, except i'm 17. i won't let the shitty music industry/radio control what i hear. pure 60's baby.

  • @scottiehottie4u2 yeeeaah exacuily im 18 and im still listing old music

  • @scottiehottie4u2 you must be sheltered then because there is a lot of good music out nowadays you probably have only heard the radio shit like lady gaga bieber and perry so stop being a little bitch and whining about how 70s and 60s music was the shit

  • @scottiehottie4u2 same, and I'm five years younger than you.

  • @scottiehottie4u2 same here at 15

  • Groovy I put this on my 60s Psychedelic Mind Trip playlist so consider yourself honored!

  • Thank you for a good recording and for the cool art!

  • I finaaly got a gree tamborine and only for a buck at the dollar store!!!

  • this is one of my favourite songs

  • It make be a song from back then but its awesome

  • @kkketanya13 that is were all the good music came from a time called the 60's. the best time 2 live.

  • I thank the Recess movie for introducing me to this song years ago.

  • @RABOD that movie was brilliant haha.

  • @RABOD XD i thought that was only me

  • @RABOD Recess was the best to bad they don't make any more episodes show was the best.not like the cartoons they have nowadays.Man not only do they make crappy music today they also make crappy cartoons, really makes you question whats going on in the world.

  • @RABOD damn i was goin to write that!!!

  • Just heard this for the 1st time ever on radio2, i dont think ive ever heard it before. Liked it so much had to listen again!!!

  • Wow after all these I can't believe I've heard this track again you see I'm only 26 yet when I was in my early teens I use to listen to Capital Gold here in the UK and every now and this track would play and I really like it because it reminds me of my youth
