@Eycicle120 Thanks. The song's from a ytmnd site called "kassius didn't die either". I also have an HD version of this highway I made a few months ago too.
I've known about this route since I started studying maps as a kid, but I had no idea it was so old! It looks like it's still in pretty good shape, after all these years.
Historic highway 100, awesome. The cloverleaf at 100 and highway 7 was the first cloverleaf interchange in the state of Minnesota. I love driving highway 100!
I used to live right where the video ends, for a summer. There was a weird honycomb looking fire place structure off the side of the road, built at the same time. There are also some weird masonry structures, like an alter with a mote around it kinda hidden by the north bound onramp.
I think the Hony comb was moved last year because MDOT is getting ready to fuck shit up.
There was actually a documentary on this highway made by one of the local TV stations some years ago. Either TPT or KSTP, I cant remember. But it talked all about the rest stop.
WAS? Isn't it there any more? Talking about the old stone tables and fire ring structure right? I used to go have lunch there all summer in 2007. I hope it's still there! That place was peacefull.
erp, I meant northeast. I was referring to the rest stop itself. Whats left of the honeycomb grill and structures I'm not sure. I guess some genius decided to signalize the intersection.
Unless your talking about the green visors on the dividers. Those are so you don't get blinded by headlights at night. They don't really make those anymore.
Nice! I drive through Minnesota on my way to see relatives in Texas. It's really pretty. Btw, what is the music?

Is that sign at 0:15 an original sign?

@techman224
Although its old, I dont think it is. I dont even think the trestle holding it up is original.

That road is in better condition than most roads that age in the northeast.

It used to have just 2 lanes with lilacs planted on the side. There was even a rest stop with a grill on the northwest side of the cloverleaf.

Dang that was a quick response. Is a k rail those concrete dividers?
eluko79 3 years ago
what is the point of those green things at the top
2004JETTA 3 years ago
Those are old rail bridges which were built out of steel instead of concrete. They just painted them green for some reason.
