That being said, a song needs structure, and this...random playing has none. I doubt if these guys played the same song again it would come out the same way. Maybe the beginning kind've, but that's it. I can do 128th notes with one hand on a drum set, doesn't mean it's good.

Biffy Clyro have (or at least had, though their newer B-sides are much more like the old Biffy) the right idea. They take the rules of traditional musicianship and mess around with them (search for 9/15ths if you want an example, though ironically that's actually one of their newer songs which generally speaking are more conventional), creating music which still has rythm and still is accessible, but is nevertheless unique and brilliantly original.
