  • Pure brilliance :')

  • Colbert actually said German things sometimes. The other one just rambled random things.

  • @P1ranh4 Lol yeah, he was quoting Hitler at one point.

  • @FinnishFuturist The only German person foreigners remember from the top of their heads ;)

  • @ArtificialCornstarch watch this! /watch?v=QyU2p4l5iUA

  • 1:54 don't be such a baby!

  • hahahahh OMG>... cant even breathe... so damn hilarious!!!! Haagen Daas!@!!! LOL

  • @ArtificialCornstarch Look up Fake English on youtube, there's actually a few videos based entirely on that concept!

  • Colbert and Brady have now switched roles, compared to then. Colbert is something and Brady... isn't

  • @ArtificialCornstarch We always finish every word with "ou".

  • @ArtificialCornstarch Watch this. It's what it would sound like. /watch?v=BZXcRqFmFa8

  • @ageguyera21 They're actually using English words, just not in any order that makes sense. This would be more like made-up English /watch?v=AFqyiquFbPk

  • @VashTheWaterbender heh.. no they're not. They're not using English words at all. Your brain is desperately trying to make sense of the gibberish- so you hear what you think are words. Much like a misheard lyrics song. Also, the video you posted IS English, just horribly mispronounced and butchered. The more you know!

  • @ageguyera21 Oh, I see. I misunderstood what the lyricist meant when he was describing Prisencolinensinainciusol. But the thing I posted is as much English as some of Whose Line's foreign languages. They (Whose Line) mix in both real words or approximations of real words they've heard and then the rest is usually obvious gibberish.

  • omg! steven was speaking some real german, he said something about "today... the germany is the... in the world" *i put dots where i couldn't understand but i learned some german in my time and im pretty sure that was real

    1:14

  • @sisum090 yeah he did say something to that effect. it was definitely real german

  • @ArtificialCornstarch

look up the music video prisencolinensinenciusol.

  • Don't touch my Robin Hood...

  • I love how Stephen is actually speaking german.

  • 0:17 "WHALE!"

  • For those of you playing along at home, Stephen actually speaks German. His "Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganz welt!" is in fact a well-known quote from Hitler. Well done getting crap past the censors, Mr. Colbert.

  • Lol, they do a pretty good job for people who don't really speak it.

  • @SpaceAndrew Colbert DOES speak it.

  • @Kodiak1775 Well... not perfectly. Because I speak it, and he was only sometimes understandable. I mean, he obviously took it in college or something.

  • Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze Welt.

    Lolz! :P

  • he's one step away from being the medic

  • LMAO

Stephen: "Today Germany, tomorrow the world"

  • MEDIC!

  • inb4 tf2chan...

  • @PFCperkins

    ditto.

  • @PFCperkins inaftr

  • i miss this show

  • my god, its the medic!

  • @xs3bx HA!!!! I was waiting for Colbert to yell "Uber ready"

  • "Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze welt" in English means, "Today Germany, tomorrow the whole world!"

  • this make me laugh so hard, i cry a little. *deep breath* ahhh

  • Oh gosh, I cracked up. I wish this show was still on.

  • ITS. JUST. CABBAGE.

This is why I looove whose line!

  • "What are you talking about Willis?" I don't understand.

  • @kagomehater4ever Look up Gary Coleman. I'm sure it'll come up at some point.

  • @kagomehater4ever it's Gary Coleman's Classic line from his show different strokes that was popular in the late 70's to mid 80's.

  • 2:40 LOL!!!!!!!

  • m least favorite person on my favorite show... great...

  • Stephen Colbert always has been, and always will be, a sexy comedic genius.

  • hahahah, today germany, tomorrow the world!

  • "Today Germany, tomorrow the world!" Lol thats a fmaous speech!

  • lol i don't understand how there are any dislikes on this video. ppl need to lighten up. 35 dislikes.. really?? seriously??

  • I knew it... Colbert really IS the Medic from Team Fortress 2!

  • Stephen Colbert is secretly the Medic...

  • momen maken homen lol

  • Colbert: Hahaaa, dangly parts!

  • @ArtificialCornstarch

I always wondered that until I saw this one scene in the movie Persepolis where-- in French-- certain characters imitate an American English accent. It's pretty hilarious.

  • LOL now I will watch harvey birdman

  • is that the medic from team fortress 2?

  • today germany, tomorrow the world! Hahahaha well done colbert! i'm voting for you and jon stewart in 2012.

  • @ArtificialCornstarch There's an Italian singer, Adriano Celentano, and one of his most famous songs is called "Prisencolinensinainciusol", 1972, which is precisely that: he pretends to sing in english but he doesn't say any actual word. Look it up.

  • Ouch, I laughed so much it hurts (especially since I know German, Colbert was hilarious).

  • lol I understand some German. That's pretty cool hearing someone else speak it.

  • @Agatahnai: All I caught was the "Heute Deutschland, Morgen die ganze Welt" which means, "Today Germany, tomorrow the whole world." And at one point he said, "Das ist schlect." Which means "That is bad."

  • Someone needs to translate Colbert's lines.

  • .. Okay, he obviously said that isn't sourcratin.. or whatever it was

  • The acting is unbelievably good obviously, but cant help thinking that it is a lot lamer as a show than I remember it at the time

  • lol so funny to watch it as a german =D

  • Omg, 4 of the funniest people on one show.

  • haha dont touch my saurkraut.... cuming to ein theater near ya!

  • When that guy said whale it sounded like he was warning everyone that there was a whale in the studio lol

  • This scene is filled with awesome...What are you talking about willis?

  • Dakensin spoot

  • Kiss me... :P

  • @0:17 WHALE!!!! :D LOL!

  • It's...just cabbage!

  • Dakuz in spoot! Dakuz in spoot! :D

  • What-are-you-talking-about , Willis?

    Lmaoo <33 colin

  • I lol @ stephen colbert actually speaking real german

  • i wonder if they played this game in Germany then if they tried to speak English what their gibberish would sound like

  • @abchasi27 Since we know how to speak English, it wouldn't be gibberish.

  • @chifjak13 lol touche

  • @abchasi27 LOL I was thinking the same thing. I can't think of any exploitable characteristics of the English language but it would be entertaining to see

  • 1:14: "heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze Welt" ("today Germany, tomorrow the whole world") is a line from an actual nazi song.

Don't say that if you're talking about your wife Helga.

  • What are you talkin about willis? - ROTFLMAO best line ever!

  • I love you Colbert.

  • ITS JUST CABBAGE

  • WHALE!!!

  • "Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze WELT"

LOL... Good job, Stephen, I salute you.

  • @PinkRavager hes really funny in rl..well when hes still in character

  • @finalman25

He is... on the Report anyways... but his Commencement Speech at Northwestern? Brilliant. His opening statement for the congressional debate concerning immigrant workers? Brilliant. His White House Correspondence Dinner Speech? Fucking brilliant.

  • @PinkRavager i was laughing so hard when he gave his statements at the immigrant hearing..o man some of those people there looked so pissed..

  • @PinkRavager Today Germany, tomorrow the WORLD

  • @PinkRavager lol, "today Germany, tomorrow the ENTIRE world"...classic ;)

  • ...hes actually speaking german.

  • @piratekitsune what is he saying in German then XP I'm curious XP

  • @ichinii808 "Heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze welt" in English means, "Today Germany, tomorrow the whole world!"

  • AWWWW, he looks so young

  • OMG the funniest whose line scene.... more than the robin williams episode..

  • WHAT-ARE-YOU-TALKING-ABOUT-WILLIS

  • I'd call mine one world cup and two weilkreige doo da, doo da.

  • id call my movie "a fist full of schnitzel"

  • OMG my four favorite people all up on one stage, it's like a dream come true

  • I also think that colbert says "das ist schlecht" which means "it's terrible" XD

  • das is schlect!

  • Ich lachte hart!

  • klingt wirklich fast wie deutsch. erinnert stark an charlie chaplins great dictator, da haben sich die beiden echt mühe gegeben.

    sounds funny

    i like it :)

  • i thought i was strong enough to watch this

    i was wrong

  • whoa! stephen's german language sounds ... alot like german o.o does he know german? idk the language of german but hearing them from movies it sounds very similar, even the accent 1:14 sounds so german! xD

  • @Church96 because he is actually speaking german xD

  • @cerrenes i know! =D thats amazing! xD

  • @Church96 Stephen was actually speaking German. LOL. Some of it was proper responses and some was just phrases but almost everything he said was real German.

  • 1:14 heute Deutschland, morgen die ganze Welt! xD

  • My favorite epoised of whose line ever! Colin is Amazing and of course Steven rules!

  • oont mama makin' hisen XDDD pfff genius

  • Oops, meant to write sauerkraut! Doh!

  • Stephen is soooooooooooo yummy! He can eat sourkraut off me anytime!!!LOL :-)

Never get tired of seeing this!

  • I like how Stephen Colbert says (around the 2:50 mark) "Das ist schlecht" right after the other guy said "and you can spend more time with your family".

For those that don't speak German, Das ist schlecht means "This is bad".

  • @Squeak2 Yeah, this video is a ton funnier for those of us who are bilingual... ein Sefuschtel!

  • @LielieS2,I completely disagree with u as well!Colbert said only 2 sentences which made sense but have virtually nothing to do with sauerkraut!Any trained parrot can do that while his colleague sounded most of the time more German but spoke nothing sensible! Not even a phrase! In short both of them are good for nothing in terms of languages. They should better stick to comedy and making us all a good laugh.I really like the translators!

  • @Beesahili What are you...three talking about. its improv, not the UN. they really dont have to or speak anything that sounds or that IS german. that was kind of the point. "youre gonna fake a foreign language" were the rules.

  • I literally cried from laughing.

  • "What are you talking about, Willis?"

    Oh, Colin. :D

  • What is America's Most Important Political Commentator EVER doing on a COMEDY show?!

Y'know, he's pretty good at this improvisational stuff, he could always fall back on it by mocking the people who are destroying America.

  • @MiKikaIwaShizaru I know! It's not like he's a comedian, or something.

  • @Stevensnell,We English-speaking folk take othersfor granted!Let us all be realistic:how many of us actually speak fluently 1 or 2 foreign languages?I was forced to adapt to other languages.Umay speakGerman fluently if one of ur parents is of German origin. We all know that about70% of whiteAmericans are of German origin.I know it was a joke that was why the audience (mostly white, thus some may have German parent/grandparents)burst into laughter! Its a SHAME no WASPcares about a2nd language!!

  • Comment removed

  • woody looks like tom hanks character in toy story

  • "so heute deutschland, morgen der ganze welt" translates"I am talking about Helda, I know about U and her" again"Ja..unten von Heind, und im Haagen Dazs" translates "what are you talking about Willis?" beautiful language and dangerous translation. This only happens in US,where ignorance turns into bliss!

  • @Beesahili The translation was a joke. Now i will use this opportunity to make a broad, insulting generalization about all the people in whatever country you're from.

  • i swear, youtube has to put a bar saying: for added hilarity, please turn on transcribe audio. It is so worth it!

  • @They are both good-for-nothing!I speak both languages.Colbert sounds more like a ship load of horse-shit! CRAP!He sounded even moreArabic! The audience is all WHITE!If u must know they at least understand German since70% of WhiteAmericans're ofGerman origin. Most are after-the-war immigrants(their parents&grandparents are still alive)That is why they are bursting with laughter.WeEnglish-speaking folk hate any 2nd language! These African American&English American comedians are UNLESS in languages!!

  • Whenever americans try to speak german, you get "dutch". xD

But Colbert is actually pretty good at it.

Don't touch my Sauerkraut! (you gotta love those stereotypes. :D)

    Greetings from Germany.

  • aaaaaaah I miss this show!!!!

  • Some old Colbert footage. So great :D Keep the fear alive!

  • Colbert looks like Woody from Toy Story

  • I love how when Wayne hears "wife" from Colin, he turns his hands sideways like it's a centerfold.

  • Ja...unten von Heind, und en Haagen Dazs? 0:52

  • I remember I watched this episode before I knew who Stephen was and thought he was great. Also the captions made me die laughing.

  • Clearly this was a government plot to overthrow Rhode Island. Sometimes I wish I weren't so keen.

  • Lol Colbert failed. He said "Das ist schlecht :o" when he should've said, "Das ist nicht schlecht". But, for being a person who doesn't study German, he did pretty good.

  • @123IOWNALL321 maybe that was actually what he wanted.

  • @Folkmann

    ...

I guess, but it makes a looooot more sense to say "That's not bad".

  • heh... He says "and" a lot. Every other german word is UND UND UND UND!

  • Gut gut

  • i think clinton signed

  • One single tiger bones about it.

  • Those captions seem like they have a political agenda.

  • i don't want to place our private lawyer

  • THE CAPTIONS ARE HILARIOUS WITH THIS XD

  • Wow Colbert actually knows some German!! Obviously a smart man...

  • @SuperUnic0rn He might've just watched a lot of south park, I got some famous hitler lines memorized too thanks to cartman :p Wir mussen der juden aussrotten.

  • @GhostInTheShell29 Stimmt. Aber ICH habe ein rote katze in mein hosen, und es tut mir leid. Kannst du fur mich helfen?

  • they totally underused Stephen in that episode. Ryan, Colin and Wayne always have me busting a gut laughing and all, but Stephen leaves them all in the dust. I guess that can't have their regulars look mild by comparison.

  • turn on transcribe audio AFTER you watch the video for the first time.

    hilarious

  • @LightSeagull lol who knew "kiss me" also means "clinton aides"

  • colbert looks so young! especially with out his glasses :)

  • hahaha i remember this from a looong time ago but i had no idea who stephen was back then AHAHA

  • A German filmaker? Oh no, I can't handle Uwe Boll.

  • 1:10 thats a line from a speech by hitler.....

  • hahahahahhahahahahhaha

  • Haha you can have it out in less then 3 minutes, and still spend time with you family xD What did you mean by 'have it out'?

  • wow I probably watched this as it aired and had no idea who stephen was.....

  • Haha, "What are you talking about, Willis?" Nice. And "Kiss me"-I actually thought they were going to do that for a brief moment.

Eeeei, this is so cute! Stephen looks so YOUNG. Wow.

  • hahaha, Wayne says "Haagen Daaz" which is a brand of ice cream, haha

  • lol Colbert said one of the lines Hitler said during a speech

    lmao

  • hahaha, at 0:18 some random guy yells "WHALE!!"

  • @yosephe123 maybe referring to Welsh? the language from Wales? but maybe not...

  • COLBERT AND WHOSE LINE?!

There has never been a more awesome.

  • these guys are the masters

  • I love how Colbert is using actual German phrases most of the time.

  • @balloon303

    yes! i noticed it too!

  • @balloon303

not that I can hear..and I'm German...but it is funny
