THO THUMBS UP! Ive been watching survival vids, and stuff like the pocket fishing kit, EDCs..etc. I also ride a LOT and included a fire kit into my saddlebags. This is another MUST add to my saddlebags ! there are many times we have driven by a lake and I wondered about the fishing...LOL.
Thanks for the ideas! I made a kit like yours today and cant wait to try it out on my fishing trip this upcoming weekend at the AEP recreation lands in southern Ohio!
that kinda looks like the pond near my house. i live in the detroit suburbs and we live near this nature trail and nobody ever goes there so me and my brothers make little rafts and fish in the sumer sun.
the key to using the bobber is not to cast it but drop it off a low bridge or high point more or less straight down. Excellent kit though, I think i'll make for for all my vehicles just to keep handy. excellent vid.
the lake i live near is overpopulated with blue gills they eat ne thing that gets in the water, we were catching them off little chunks of leaves.. this is pretty cool i mite make one but i;m gunna come up with a way so it cast farth nd i can go for other fish then just sunny's nd that...
thats how all bluegill are.. I've caught em on grass too they're just curious.. they'll put anything in their mouth but they usually spit it out before they decide to eat it
during the day look under decaying wood, big pieces of bark or anything on the ground with bare dirt underneath, keep in mind you want to look in areas where the ground is not real dry..using this method you should find diferent types of of worms and also alot of other things to use for bait, just remember not every peice of wood you flip over is going to have worms under it,if you flip alot of wood over and dont find any worms you should look in another area where the ground is a little more moist
at night is the time night crawlers come out, just water your lawn a couple hours before dark and wait until about an hour after dark to look for them the best place to catch them is bare soil, flower beds are usually a hot spot too,you will need a light that isnt too bright, preferabaly with a red lens(night crawlers are very sensitive to light and vibration,so step slowly and softly or they will shoot back down their hole, and they are really fast.
when you grab them dont pull to hard or you will break them off you have to just ease them out of the hole.once you have a couple dozen you can add some dirt to your can and keep them alive for a long time in the fridge, just feed them some used coffee grounds or any biodegradable or organic material(even news paper) they are not picky eaters, good luck with your worm farm, peace
these small fishing kits can handle medium-large fish as well as pan fish it just takes some practice using your hand and the tube as a drag,i decided to try it on some carp just to see what kind of results i could get with bigger fish, it was alot harder than gills but i got it down after the second fish, decent size four-five pound fish,i will try to make a vid one of these days...keep on keepin on
large fish but u need to have good fishing line aprox 6 kg 25.00 and good hooks :D i once almost caught a big carp on a fishing kit somthing like that but the hook bent and he got away D:
8 lb test is sufficient for bigger fish, the more heavy the line the less casting distance you get,and yes quality hooks are important, that doesnt mean you need big hooks just quality small hooks
damn those mossys are bad near the marsh,i know i live 5min away from one in ohio, but anyways i have a kit simular to yours and i have a small supply of berkley gulp maggots in the kit for emergency bait and i got to tell ya they work really well for pan fish,i was catching about four fish off one maggot before it got tore up too bad.highly recomend it
great video. for a good bobber got to wal mart and they sell a small weighted bobber. u get 3 in a pkt for about $1.00. great kit, going to make me one today.
thats a nice motorcycle lol i guess we cant all ride horses like the old days. lol you can even hear the mosquitios on the vid.lol the fish wheren't biting but the mosquitios where lol.
