@rinney333 The first chair horn in my HS Symphonic band is a girl. Our whole euphonium section is female. We have girls in the trombone section. Our first chair trumpet is a girl (Who made 1st chair allstate). So quit with the crap about the sexism. This is one ensemble out of millions. And for you to say that your comment applies to the music society is a load of bull. Every horn player I've taken lessons from has been female. One of them is the horn professor at UGA. Euphonium is the bastard instrument resulting in a drunken night shared between a trombone and a horn. They are illegitimate, and should not be played. These horns sound absolutely stupendous! Man, I wish the trombone sounded gorgeous like that. I'll settle for awesome Wagner parts though :D

Embrace the music. Just because an ensemble only has one sex doesn't make it sexist. There are many chamber ensembles with only female personnel. Does that make them sexist? There are several girl only trombone ensembles, they seem to get on just fine. I am male and I don't care about the sexual makeup of any band I play with as long as it is the music which comes first. This is a great ensemble. Love the arrangements and the performance.

i disliked this because of general sexism among musician.

as a female horn player i am constantly disgusted at the lack of confidence in female brass players by conductors and other musicians.

and that is why i dislike this song. because the group is all male, and while they are all amazing, it is upsetting to not see even 1 girl among them.

@rinney333 If you watch their other videos, you will see that there are women in the ensemble. The album is film music arranged for 8 to 12 horns and percussion. This photo is only 9 people. Who knows, maybe all 12 in the ensemble are performing in the piece, maybe there is no photograpgh of the entire 12 piece ensemble. There could be a variety of reasons for this photo, and I do not in any way believe sexism is one of them.

@rinney333 and i have girls playing in my brass section, and they are just as good as the men! but when asking other girls why they would not play brass their answer were because they didnt like the way the instrument looked, they didnt like how it sounded, and didnt like how much it weighed. besides that fact some musicians, whether it is men or women, can not play brass because of the way they lips are shaped. please be more considerate of other circumstances then jumping to such a conclusion

The percentage of women to men in the blind audition stage is much greater than after it. Maybe it's because the guys really are better, but I doubt it to always be the case.

@21citircdoog02 Odds are that there isn't a "brand". Vienna horns, which are single horns in F with pumpenvalves instead of rotary, are generally handmade by makers.
