  • I first remember seeing Ron on TV when he teamed up with Les Schissler in 1987 at the Senior/Touring Pro Doubles. They got beat to Marc McDowell and Dick Weber 220-201. Ron and Marc met again in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1991 and Marc beat Ron 215-169. I still have those two tapes back home.

  • Although he won this tournament I would put him in the category of great urethane bowlers who struggled with reactive equipment. Warren, Palombi, Westlake, Ballard, Benoit, Pencak, Sullins, etc.. They also mentioned he was engaged. Perhaps he didn't want the life of a PBA pro for his family.
