I have a G22C (10mm lite) I really like the follow up with the comp. Have you shot it at night? this gun is my everyday carry and I like Federal HST for carry, as the flash isn't so intense at night. good vid
@gunforhire8 Thank you, I don't get many comments on this video. I've shot bowling pin competition at night and load flashy powder like Power Pistol and Blue Dot for full effect. Everybody knows when the 10mm comes up to the line!
Just ordered 200 rounds of Fed 180 HST in .40 for carry after seeing tnoutdoors9's ballistic media testing with that excellent round. Glad to hear that it doesn't flash too much. It is a law enforcement cartridge so that makes sense.
@PinkOld Accurate #7 is one that I use for 5.7x28mm and my main staple 9mm 147gn powder but I haven't tried it in the 10mm. I don't push the 10mm too hard because I'd like to avoid early retirement for my precious brass. Don't get me wrong, I'm not loading them to .40 S&W spec's like most ammo manufacturers do.
It would be fun to work up a few experimental loads for max using your recommended powders in the S&W 1066 just to see what a "real" 10mm feels like.
@theKGB65 The best way to get a good idea of what to expect is to read the data manuals' listings of pressures with each powder.
I started with Blue Dot in my 1006, and it worked pretty well, but I was able to get max velocity with reasonable pressure levels using AA #7 or #9, both of which seem to almost custom made for the 1006.
My 10mm is the massive S&W 1006, and it actually does its best with full power loads.
FBI loads may not reliably cycle that big, heavy slide.
I have a 20c glock , only gun glock makes that needs a compensater. i.m.o. I had a glock 20 ,and traded in for glock 20c after i felt the difference in my glock to my buddys 20c . I think its worth extra cause follow up shots are quicker with comp mdl. I reload ammo for mine ,180gr bullet and blue dot powder the best in 10mm.
@glock2026 Agree with everything you said and I use the same recipe for most of my shooting. Love to handload Hornady 180 XTPs with Blue Dot for an awesome fire-show during the evening bowling pin matches!
Nice Vid. I've had my glock 20c since 05 and I love it. I have a question pertaining to ammo. Ive usually shoot Buffalo Bore (180-200 gr.), and blazer (good cheap target ammo 200gr). A guy working a local gun store told me its a bad idea to feed it 200 gr ammo constantly. Any advice or light you could shed on the situation?
@woods9233 Blazer 200s are listed at 1050 fps by CCI. Reality is more like 975 fps; they are very mild. If you can ask the salesperson what he is basing his advice on we could discuss it further, but it sounds like a misunderstanding of some sort. As far as Buffalo Bore full power 10mm goes, you should read what they have to say on their website and then decide for yourself. My inclination is to do research, shoot it, and if the receiver develops any cracks, let Glock replace it.
@someharleyguy Thank you for the encouragement. That 25 yard range that you shoot at looks pretty neat, like they stole the materials from a Gaza pyramid, or something; cool neighborhood.
@Goldie10mm It's hard to do videos right now because I shot the touch screen on my camera and since I spend all my money on ammo, can't afford a new one! Keep watching, eventually I'll make something happen.
I eat, sleep, and piss 10mm it's the only handgun cartridge worth a damn. Well, other than .22LR, 9mm, 40 S&W, 45 ACP, .44 Mag .50AE, .38/.357, 5.7x28 FN, and 500 Mag. It complements the collection very nicely and I highly recommend it if you reload your ammo.
If you start reloading then do yourself a huge favor and consider a Dillon 550B and an extra caliber change kit so you can quickly switch between 9mm and .40 S&W it is the press everybody seems to end up with because the thing is a just a masterpiece of quality and design. It's also the press that Hickok45 uses.
@theKGB65 i agree with all of em except the .38 and 9mm 38 bcuz they are inacurate as hell we got a ruger .38sp and 9mm to weak for me i like alittle boom but its my opinion
@warduckythe1st That's cool, it's whatever bullet slinger you feel will serve you in a pinch or just be a good time to shoot with your bud's. That's kind of what I was getting at... I find a use for all of those calibers. Thanks for joining in.
Aw, SHIT! You know, I gave these glasses away to a guy who forgot his on the night of our Action Pistol competition just two days after shooting this vid. That's pretty damn funny, I'm done with the U2 look for good!

@theKGB65 Have you tried Accurate Arms #7 or #9, or IMR Hi-Score 800X yet?
I find that either of the two AA powders mentioned here give me max velocity.
I consistently push 155 grain Speer Gold Dots out at 1350 fps with either.

@zazszdzfzgzhzjzkzlzx Thanks, that makes both of us. Handloading with Alliant Blue Dot intensifies the effect.

@theKGB65 I burn so much 9mm and 40 now, it's really starting to get costly. I'm seriously thinking about starting to reload.
