This is NOT an ERD! Has everyone become stupid recently?! An ERD is a semantic data model. What you show here is called a conceptual data model, I believe. If something has the word 'table' in it or uses 'IDs', it is not a semantic model, it is implementation details. Look up ERD / ERM in wikipedia and compare it to this "tutorial"...
why i didn't see this video before?! argh.. i have a project due! shortly! thanks for the instruction! much better tutorial then my school instructor!
Wow, this really helped me out in my Systems Analysis Design class. The book we used didn't cover 1/10th of this. Thank you so much for uploading this!
in my school, i failed this subject coz its really hard to understand. but this one, its really fast to understand. now, i can make my project without a hard time to scan lots of books. thanks to you maam. God bless..
--> hello Ms. Pashortt...? what version did you use? bcoz this version was easy to use coz u teach very well. i understand immediately wat ur talking. thanks a lot. u can email me ur answer. thanks, or u can send a nessage on my youtube acc. thanks
i was having trouble creating ERD. and didn,t know how to use the visio software until i came across your lecture on youtube. thanks a lot. it made a difference. i will keep watching for all your series. your lecture is clear and simple. keep it up
The use of uppercase for naming tables is becoming more commonplace; however, the use of camel casing (first letter of each word) is also acceptable. I do teach my students to use all uppercase for table names as well; however, I have not had a chance to update the videos.
I enjoyed your 3-part Visio series. I was looking for a way to show an M:M relationship (I don't know why MS didn't include this more intuitively, or a specific ERD template: an intersect table is of course needed in physical design, but not ERD) - you confirmed my approach, albeit less than ideal.
Thank you very much for your video. This came just in time for me, I was having a hard time finding good information for ERDs with Visio. Thanks again!

Question: In regards of naming your physical entity, we were taught to "always" use uppercase font. I was wondering how come you didn't?
I enjoyed watching the 3part series. Thx for the upload.
