THIS is fucking Max Payne. the heart, soul, and essence of it all is here. It's Remedy's masterpiece. not only in league with the original but is debated to be better or not than it.

Max Payne 3 looks like R* molded GTA IV with Splinter Cell and Uncharted. not a bad idea, but not the same league as Max.

After I read they got James McCaffrey back to voice Max Payne, and the release date was not in the 2011-12 plans I got renewed hope. I hope that means they have put their previous ideas on the shelf and are going back to the roots and keep Max Payne where he is. I don't want the next instalment to be set about 12 years in the future. They can't take him out of New York and make him older in an instant like that, it's not fair on Max.

Some updated graphics, new missions and storyline would have sufficed, but no, this was 20x better than any of the GTAs but they've ruined it again.. thats what happens when you leave Rockstar to their own devices.

While Remedy had their backs turned, producing Alan Wake (which looks very like the same kind of psycological thriller MP is), Rockstar were the Fall of Max Payne.

@kirkhammett1993 I appreciate this was a year ago, but look at the previews. MP3 looks awesome, and Rockstar seem pretty dedicated to making sure it lives up the quality set by the the first two. Rockstar aren't exactly known for rushing games to the market unfinished (and yes, it's a shame Remedy aren't involved, but they didn't want to carry on with the franchise).

I always guessed they meant to decieve the audience and make them think that the titled implied Max was going to "fall"(die). Also its a metaphor for Max "falling" for Mona, and hes(for lack of a better term)"falling off"(lying to his boss, getting suspended, putting his job at risk etc). His quest and love for Mona is forcing him to "fall" further to down into the rut his life has taken.

Well I think that people are highlighting the "bad" info and ignoring the good points of MP3. Ok Max does look like Stone Cold Steve Austin(but his look is something different). Also people complained when the saw the way Max looked on MP2 when compared to the way he looked on MP1(some said he looked more like Bruce Wayne than Max Payne or "Max Wayne"). But the idea of Max being addicted to pain killers, and this mysterious "lost years" story arc has me intrigued.

I don't think it will be as good as the other two(not because of balding and shortage of leather coats). I think the setting really added to both games and now that, the dark, gritty setting is gone its just going to be like any other action game. Hopefully it has a good story and isn't trying to appeal to a larger group.

The grittyness and overall nightlife of New York is kinda a part of Max's personality in away it just fits him to be there. i don't see how him letting go in Brazil will have the same melancholy affect. Its all mojitos and humid air now its too much change even for 12 years after the events of Part 2

I love Max Payne, but the sequel was a bit weak in my opinion, and that's coming from a proper fan. I enjoyed it, but it was still a let-down at times. The violence was nowhere near as satisfying, for example, and the final fight sucked. That being said, I'm sure Max Payne 3 is going to kick astronomical new levels of ass.

I think Max Payne is a lot of Fun. My older brother plays it and it's fun to watch him. I like how everything in the game is interactive. You can break the Soda machine which can actually dispense you a soda, there's stacks of boxes that wobble or fall if you push them, and water heaters that blow off the wall if you shoot at it and then water pours from the walls, I like how you can touch and mess with everything in the game. Good graphixs too !!
