Hi.. do solar panels make AC or DC power?? as im looking into makeing a micro hydro genorator.. and i have a solar charge regulator.... and want to know if it will work?  thanks..

@ExtraSilver Hey solar panels do make DC power.if you have DC from the micro hydro it should work for you.

@michael970 ah cool thanks.. but i think my tredmill motor puts out AC power? i think? sorry im not the best with this stuff at the moment... but im in the middle of building a hydro turbine.. i have the turbine and motor but looking for a way to make the power usefull.. thanks :D

@ExtraSilver Hey if your motor is AC you will have to add magnets to get power.If you have a permanent magnet motor it will produce DC power than you can get a bridge rectifier from radio shack and start charging batteries.Most treadmill motors are permanent magnet motors.Hook a volt meter to black and red wires and turn the motor if you get power you have a PM motor.keep me updated

@michael970 hey cool thanks.. n yea it is a pm motor.. but i thouth they made AC power than needed to be converted? or something? sorry im a little bit of a noob lol... so is it safe to hook it to a solar panel charge regulator? im not to sure lol.. i dont know the diffrence between the turbine charge regulator and a solar panel charge regulator.. thanks :)

Michael hey its kevin I screwd up your inverter is right and mine is wrong I could have sworn I tested this but I was wrong. I also heard of regulating wind turbines with two 8v golf cart batteries used in yamaha golf carts. CHEERS WINDY NC

Quick question Do you have your Wind Turbine going thru the GTI? How do you handle the varying voltage spikes that come from the Wind Turbines? I recently upgraded my Homemade Wind Turbine purchased a GTI myself and would like start playing around with the GTI.

hello Mrlagros I have my turbine hooked directly to the GTI and it seems to work fine .but I hear we should run them through 2 12v batteries wired as 24v it will drain batteries to 14 volts then only power GTI when turbine spins i dont know how batteries will react.I also hear of a regulator coming soon to replace batteries

Its looking good You may want to turn your grid tie inverter over because the fan is trying pull hot air down when it wants rise. Thanks for your comments CHEERS WINDY NC

Awesome video... so how do you have your panels hooked up to your grid tie? Is it setup for 12 or 24 volts?

hey krcool32 I have my panels hooked directly to the grid tie. the GT uses 14 to 24 volts my panels are run in parallel and put out 20 volts under no load so they seem to work fine thanks for the comment

hey mrbuki77 thanks for the comment. I would like some disconnects like you have in yours.I have all my stuff run through 30 amp fuses.I would like a big dc fuse at the battery positive do you have any suggestions on that

You can pick up big fuses from any place that sells car audio equipment. I got a 100amp fuse and fuse block at Wal-Mart for my inverter. Other places may have higher amp fuses if you need them.
