  • I appreciate you making the vid. Nothing beats a night out whether in the woods, glades or back yard. It all sleeps the same. Thanks brother and keep em' coming!

  • hammammon@yahoo.com

I have a question, I bought wool blankets and they dont seem to work in 32 degree weather; in freezing weather. I set up a tent with a black tarp. And it raised the temperature a good 25 degrees. I S**** you not!!!! How do I set up a big, tent. A huge tent, I guess just call Ozark Trail, hu?

  • @hammammon Wool blankets will help, but when temps drop really low you should get a cold weather sleeping bag. Thanks for watching.

  • @hammammon Wool blanket is not everything solution :) One blanket(any type thicker) if is not wet will help you aprox to 8-13 degree Celsius plus. If you want sleep in freeze(below zero(tipical fall morning temperature.frost water on plants)..you need 2-3layers of realy thick blankets . I use one sleeping bag folded under and over me and two thiner blankets, one is layed under me on other side like half of sleeping bag and third covers my feet..I am in middle and three layers around,it works

  • @xmicina Thanks for your comments. Can you make a video demonstrating this? I think it would be great for the YouTube Community.

  • @hammammon hi mate, an ex Dutch army 5 season sleeping bag is the dogs danglies. I bought 2 and gave 1 to a friend we both swear by them. Second hand ones are getting scarce though.

  • @deeds1957 Thanks for your comment. Can these be found online? I just purchased a US GI Sleeping System. I will do a review soon. I would love to see what the Dutch Army one looks like. Anthony.

  • Dude, just tell your wife that you are "sorry". She'll eventually let you back in the house.

  • @balloonboyCA I did that already. She will not open the door. Looks like it is gonna be a long winter. Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks for the video! One question is, what size tarp are you using? Thanks

  • @johncalebtodd The one in the video is 6x8. Thanks for watching.

  • $90 mat, italian wool blanket, $10 stick to hold up tarp, $50 fire pit, $100 knife to split wood for $50 fire pit. Looks like you're just about ready to rough it in your backyard in southern FL. LOL. Really!?

  • hi, do you believe in God hence the name biblesnbarbells, or is it just a cool rhyme type deal? and, i also liked this video. im 13, thinking of testing my gear in my backyard too:)

  • If you are able to get that tarp away from touching you while you sleep, You will be much warmer... Good video thanks for sharing!

  • @ksmarske Thanks for the tips. I appreciate it. Anthony.

  • nice,but you're camping in your garden?holy crap

  • @Crosurvival1994 Yes. This is how I first test my gear before going out. It is a sort of proving grounds. Thanks for watching.

  • @biblesnbarbells aaa,than sorry 5+

  • @Crosurvival1994 Thanks.

  • I had no idea it actually got cold in S. Florida. Also, you need to tighten up that tarp

  • @HammockerSam Yes. We do get some cold weather. Thanks for the advice and thanks for watching.

  • hey buddy, love the shelter of course tent stakes are ideal but ya might look into simply using sticks. I try to minimize my load as much as possible and can find that they take up a good amount room sometimes. Also ive been playing with tyvec construction sealant thats uses on homes. its beyond ultra light and super cheap. just a thought. Keep the videos coming!

  • @danieltmorris123

Thanks for watching. Yes, I could have used sticks. South Florida soil is very rocky though. Is Tyvec like the heavy duty 10mil plastic in rolls? I have just cut a piece and will be seeing how it holds up as a tarp. The roll I have is clear.

  • You know...I don't know WHY I never thought to use a treck-pole as an a-frame option! Hmmm...that makes me want to rethink my pack! Thanks!

  • @yubbayubba

Thanks for watching. Trekking poles come in very handy.

  • great tarp set up , that wood was pretty tuff to split even with an axe. Must have a burn ordinace in your town too with the screen.

  • @medicjimr

Thanks. Actually, I purchased the wood at our local grocery store- Publix. It is very dry here in South Florida, so I wanted to make sure I used the screen. Thanks for watching. Anthony.

  • Awesome! the wifey and I love backyard camping. Kudos to you for doing it when it's cold!!

  • Very nice

  • @PACER2320

    Thnaks.

  • Great demo and test sir!

  • Gotta love the Becker for processing fire wood. The knife is a beast! Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for sharing and posting.

  • @firearms1894

Thanks. Becker is a Beast. Great allaround knife.

  • @biblesnbarbells

    Thanks.
