  • @CEFD11777

Not really. You can however make an ISO image of the disk. (You'll be able to play the game without putting the disk into your Computer)

Look up How to make ISO for tutorials.

    Happy Hunting :)

  • metriod prime =) Good fucking game

  • Good question...what about Microsoft Office? What other major programs can you do this with? I have seen Cubase 4 portable!

  • I'm going to have to remake this video.

  • can you do it for micrsoft office

  • what about the registry ? doesn't a program write to the registry when it is installed ? doesn't the program write registry entires when it runs ?

  • not much air in your room, a ? :)

  • lol

  • What about the programs that require a serial once installed? How do we make those portable and open for use?

  • You can't.

  • nice intro

  • Does the software we want to make portable has to be installed on the computer?

    Thanks

  • No, as long as you have the EXE file for the installer you don't need to have it installed

  • Is there a way to make a portable application and add its plug-in to it?

I have blender and i want python to work!

  • Not sure

  • Is there any way I coould do this with photoshop? I think that it has Microsoft install sheild. If you could make a video on that I would really appreciate it.

  • If it's an EXE file it should work. I'm not even sure if making MSI files portable.

  • these programes are powerful, Ive made my grandad fully portable now, before he just stayed in his chair all day, now he runs down to the pub every afternoon!

  • looool. tell me about it :P

  • for instance with vsoConvertXtoDVD uncompressed it starts up in 3.5 secs but if I compress it with winrar it takes 20 secs to start up!

  • It will becuase it's portable, and data is all in one place, and in one folder. so it makes accessing the data the program needs a bit longer.

  • yes but the data is all in one folder too before i pack it up with winrar and it loads much faster than if you compress it with winrar or other compression prog - so what i am saying is dont bother withthe winrar part or try it and see wich you prefer

  • And it's also becuase it's working at a reduced size and it's also an a USB flash drive let's not forget and read and wirte speeds on a Flash drive are slower.

  • just thought i would mention - u can choose compression level in winrar - I usually choose GOOD as this makes a file half the size of the file you would get if you left it on the default NORMAL

Also often I dont bother with the winrar part anyway as when you click on the prog. exe to strt it - it has to be uncompressed to a temp folder every time before the prog can run and this slows down the starting up- by how much depends on the prog. with a small prog you prob wont notice much diff

  • Thanks for the advice.

  • will it work with Batch files? (.bat)

  • Unfortunately no, it will only work with exe files sorry

  • even if the batch file is an extractor?

  • Not sure :S

  • that's a great tut dude! tnks will try this for sure

  • This will only work with EXE files, if you have an MSI file this method won't work, and I have found the best application to make portable are web browsers, but that's my opinion

  • No problem
