  • You're kinda missing the fact that the run-up is being conducted in what is essentially a bomb-shelter. Also, you have to run a freshly overhauled engine like that (Read: no cowlings, covers, etc), to allow access for fuel control trimming, adjustments to the IGVs, leak checks, etc.

  • We are talking about modern engines here right ??with FADECS???

As for leak checks, you don't need to have the cowls off to do leak checks. You will instantly see if anything leaks, trust me. Even on idle, Mr. Yenko. You should know this.

  • Do you even know what FADEC means??? And Im sure if you are working on the engines ppl could tell almost immediately because Fuel is pissing out or the bottom or you put the leads on the wrong terminals for the starter and smoked it. And you do know that Turbine engine speeds are based off of percent RPMs right. This is what happens when someone thinks he/she is a good mechanic because they can build level 1 model airplanes that snaps together.

  • Are you kidding me??? You are so freakn' ignorant. I guess the fact that I am actually working on cargo planes and commercial planes doesn't strike you that I know what I am talking about right?! Go get a life... I had enough of your ramblings, loser.

  • Cargo planes. Who you workin for??? Kalitta, Evergreen? The point is you may have been there once before, but then your leads saw just how "intelligent" you are and promoted you to the tire shop didn't they? And your right the amount of times you fuckin contradict yourself I along with everybody else you don't know what your talking about. Cheers Fucker

  • Well, nice to see if that engine blows it will not be contained in anyway. Safety not being practiced in the Air Force.

  • That's why they're standing about 50 feet away. Plus, What the hell would make the engine "blow up" in the first place?

  • Out of balance engine... too much fuel... not enough air ( compressor stall )... bad parts... anything and everything can go wrong

  • Dude. Did you get your A&P out of a Cracker Jack Box?? First off the Case is designed to withstand catastrophic failure!! Do you really think Fiber Glass Cowls would make them more safe? Secondly in the event of failure everything shoots out the ass end of the engine case. That's how they are designed. Like MrYenko said. How the hell you suppose to leak check with cowls on? Do yourself a favor and watch some of the destructive testing videos on here and then try to look smart. Not Vice Versa!!

  • What the hell are you guys talking about? Both of you guys are plain idiots. We have to check jet engines with the cowls on numnuts or else the engine fire bottles with their "retardant" would not be useful. Regardless if there is someone doing "firewatch" or not. Also, since when do jet engine parts always go out the ass end? As far as I know, they go wherever they want.

I have done engine changes on cf-6, AE3007, GE34... any other questions, nimrod?

  • Oh, by the way... LAX had an event when a CF-6 grenaded, parts went through the fuselage in a few places and they found debris about a few miles away. So much for your theory "smart ass". No A&P school will teach you that, right??

  • How the fuck can you leak check if the Cowls are on? Let's see yep oil lines do NOT come through the cowls, Bleed Air lines go through the Pylons into the wing frame or behind the Aft Pressure Bulkhead. So checking for bleed air leaks couldn't happen either,is your main job every night to sweep the floors. Seriously quit drinking the 83-282 and the 56-06 dipshit. I love how TURBINE ENGINES CAN GRENADE NOW. What did you do burn to low of an octane fuel. It's called compressor stalling retard.

  • Can anyone else chime in on this idiot??? Or is it even worth it? Clueless people posting on youtube... never fails. Do us all a favor and go choke yourself, please

  • that is what i am doing right now in the Air Force

  • totally not amazing, good job watching a turbine engine fire up

  • lol lol
