In Macedonia are Slav and Illyrian(Albanian)people.

-Macedonian Buglers are Slavic people intruders that arrived in Macedonia in the around 7th century(long after Alexanders death).

How in the world could they be descendants of Ancient Macedon?

They are a deviant branch of Slavic people that was a by-product of Bulgarians and Serbs mixing, along with Vlachs, Gypsies...etc

Alexander the Great was Macedonian and up to his time Macedonians were considered Barbarians by Greeks (meaning non Greek). Since Greek culture was the most advance of its time his father hired Aristotle to educate him. Macedonians were Illyrian(Albanian) people and spoke the Illyrian(Albanian) language.

So,they use to speak Greek language with outsiders, because Greek language it was like English today.

Alexander's mother was an Epirot-Illyrian (Albanian) and on his dad's side,Macedonian(another Illyrian tribe).

When Alexander's dad conquered Greece Macedonians assimilated with Greeks because they were so impressed by Greek culture. Alexander carried his father's principle of assimilation when he conquered Persia. Alexander and his soldiers were Macedonian Illyrians(Albanian).

I know Taj Khan very closly, although we haven't met since 2002.Thanks to Yorgos Alexandrou, we lived nextdoor to each other in Archea Avdira in Xanthi district. One will hardly have such happyness to talk to such unussualy inspired person as Taj. And now he returnes to Kalash. It is a brave step. And I am sure he will make a lot of such ones in his life. And this hopefully will bring happyness and prosperity to that lands. And I hope to meet him once again.

People don't understand that the Kalasha are a far more ancient culture than the hostile Muslim culture that now threatens its existence...The Kalash are a 'pagan' people with a pantheon of Gods similar to the Ancient Greek pantheon of Gods. Though they claim to be descendants of Alexander the Great, this is a myth, but they most likely did come in strong contact with him and the Hellenistic Bactrian kingdom left in his empire's wake.
