The tempo is perfect the way she did it, she did it beautifully and made it look so easy. I learned this piece about 5 years back, and I remember it took me 3 months to perfect it, and it was a BITCH to learn, but it's my favorite classical piece.

hey, good luck! I was in a similar situation (I had to play this at a contest and I only had 2 weeks to get it ready). I had it almost ready at 2 weeks, but it took me an extra week to get it right for a symphony audition, which went really well, so you definately have a shot at this :)

just commenting on evermorefire's response, the piece is meant to be played mostly in the lower half of the bow, as it is baroque music. but i have to agree with you, her playing was excellent and at that speed, it's a really exciting piece to listen to.

I couldn't help but notice that you didn't seem to use much of the tip of your bow. Not to sound judgmental, but I do believe it would be beneficial if you slowed down a bit to allow work on your bowing. Other than that, I congratulate you on reaching that level of speed. around 2:41 it says to go into third position first finger for d but i thought that was retarded fingering cause it actually makes it harder. i saw your video and you didn't go into third position so i won't whatever you do i do cause your perfect

It's actually really easy to shift if you've already had practice with it. I reccomend playing twinkle twinkle little star and trying to shift when u can.
