the world debt, well its the banks, the major banks that create that too... cos their is no such thing as debt , bank s create debt, to give the money they print value, and they do this by charging interest, the banks made this up to keep people working, because you obviously need a job to pay your debt...the banks did this for control.. cos a man in debt will work for less. Now think about countries in debt and how they are controlled...
It seems that the green party is fighting an uphill struggle, just like all the other parties that try to blame, and point fingers, trying to come up with the solution to this recession ... all i can say is when it come to money politicians have no control what so ever.... At the end of the day its the banks that control everything, as its the banks that create money, its the banks that control inflation and deflation, and it them that are printing the money. And if you want to talk about debt,
This is nice, but it's a shame it wasn't more positive and actually mentioned policy, rather than just rhetoric. 'Vote for us because we're not Lab/Lib/Con' can only get you so far, and pigeon-wholes the party. I'd rather vote for the Green Party because they're progressive, positive and principled.
It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure this comes across very well. It makes the Greens look stuffy and preachy, which is a shame because if Lucas mentioned some of the innovative Green policies they could really excite and enthuse people.
@SBenham88 Why was it terrible though? It's easy to say something is terrible, but harder to back it up, and in politics backing up is one of the most important things.
@multipletom Why is she a rubbish politician? To be more than a mere spreader of propaganda, please try and back up your opinion when broadcasting it to the world.
@invisibleducks It's always the case that I've encountered so far that people will instantly label the Greens as 'Rubish' or 'Crap' etc without knowing a single thing about them, or being able to explain why they have that view. I wish more people in this country would learn to criticise and be critical of things themselves, instead of letting others make their minds up for them.
@jackybuoy86 That's the point, the Greens are not like Nick Clegg or the Lib Dems.
No one in The Greens is there for political glamour. Clegg was. The Liberals have been power hungry for the last 90 years since being knocked off the top spot by Labour. They have always been a centrist party.
The Greens have politics of necessity, just compare the manifestos from the last election. Lib-Lab-Con, what do they actually say? The parties never strictly define what they will do. Greens do.
@jonathanbain14 People said the same about Labour in the 1900's. Now they're the 'main' party under FPTP (along with Conservatives). Previously the Liberals (along with Conservatives) were in Labour's place. It looks like again the Liberal Democrats could fall into obscurity and be replaced by the Greens. There is a lot of hope. The Liberals only began to become larger again after their merger with the Social Democrats and the disarray of Labour in the 1980's.
As the last Lib Dem supporter who's a student, I can objectively say that's very creative. More bizarre than the rather fun Green Party Election Broadcast last year, but still clever. Congrats guys!
I think I'd have faded before the phenomenal lack of response from the audience was plain. Still, I suppose that's honest - if naive. Appropriate really.
@joe513 Considering you have a video of a dancing alien entitled 'Aids Farts' on your youtube channel you don't exactly have grounds to make holier than thou judgements, especially on someone as genuine and down to Earth as Caroline Lucas.
In any case, Neo Liberal Conservatism has killed and caused many millions to also suffer, through unemployment, starvation, inaction, poor health care, needless war, exploitation and also, murder.
@MrAVmonkey Not a set-up. It was an actual comedy night in Maida Vale in London, with the comedy club's poster for the night billing an unnamed special guest.
@Metalmiltia Wow, you sure know a lot about politics! Have you even bothered to find out about what the Greens stand for? The Green new deal -creating a million new jobs for youth. Social care - creating new jobs and thus money for the economy. Much more affordable housing and transport. Better youth provision and activities to lower crime and help disadvantaged kids.. they are just a few.
@ruadriob Yeah? Every Green policy is completely uncosted. They bandy about figures straight out of the ether, safe in the knowledge they will never have to deliver on them. The only reason that Caroline Lucas is an MP is because she picked Brighton (I Lived ther for 12 years) and mobilized the Hippies. Nowhere else would be stupid enough to elect them!
@Metalmiltia Actually the Green Party manifesto for 2010 was completely and comprehensively costed out by independent financial advisors before and during the launch. In fact they were present during the launch to answer questions. I can't post a link here, but check the party manifesto and you will see. Once more another person spouting off before even slightly investigating the party.
@Metalmiltia In addition to ridiculous commentary on party financial costing (spouted off without even looking at the manifesto, available on the Green Party website) you also hilariously suggest 'Only hippies in Brighton'. Why then does the Green party have significant presence, including majority on many, many local councils within the UK. Why does the Green Party have two London assembly members as well as two London assembly members?
@Metalmiltia You've looked at it, but have you actually bothered to read it!
You profess 'absolute crap', but like anybody slagging something up for reasons of fear / ignorance / ideology / dogma you have refrained from explaining why it is crap. If you could give me a list of the parts you thought were crap, without cherry picking sentences than perhaps that comment will be a little more valid.
Yes, it is an achievement, no other 'smaller' party has that many. We're only 30 years old. Not 300.
@Metalmiltia I'm no zealot, I'm a rational academic, a student on the Environment. I just happen to care about society, the planet and my party. I've nothing to prove, and you clearly also have nothing better to do.
I simply object to people spouting off damaging and unsubstantiated claims and comments about certain things. The Green Party is one of them. You have declined to explain yourself, only using stereotyped insults to try and make a point. You've made a fool of yourself. Bye bye.
@Metalmiltia We don't have millions of pounds of donations from Big Business like Labour, Conservative, Lib Dem or even Ukip, so we have gotten there sheerly through determination and hard work. We have grown every year. I expect there to be at least 4 more MPs by the end of the decade, and that's the lowest forecast, assuming that FPTP stays in. Considering Labour is over a 100 years old and started much the same way, Lib Dems 300 but bombing in support, it's not unlikely the Greens won't grow!
@Metalmiltia What is stupid is the amount of people still being tricked into voting for the same three parties over and over again. Labour, Lib Dem, Conservative? What is so different? Same neo-liberal policies. Same self serving fame hungry politicians. As Alastair Campbell put it: Politics is like showbiz for the ugly.
The Greens actually care, if this makes us 'leftie hippies', than so be it. At least we care.
@ToryThatcherite I think you'd put your point across better if you could spell. Sense not sence, Monarchy not mornachy , Their not there and taxes not taxeses. Also I think you'll find it Conservative, not Coservative!
@timmy2223 No, I don't hear that. Perhaps it's you trying to slander other parties out of fear for your own views, or just pure ignorance of the what the Greens actually stand for?
I wish people would see past the colour and look at what the greens want to do for employment and society.
@ruadriob ok you like to jump on the attack way to soon. i am a support of the green party. i campaign against the tory-lib dem cuts so much that i spoke in the house of commons against the tory and labour governments. so dont be to judgemental when i am a supporter of the greens. and for the record i swear someone does say it
@timmy2223 Right, well I just had the volume up full blast and couldn't hear anything but a few people murmuring. I apologise it looked like you were trolling.
No time for conservative, cunts all of them. Lib dems are spineless. Id say Labour are the lesser of three evils, but thats not saying much. Green seems to have its morals straight.

Roughly 14% of Australians voted for The Greens in 2010, that's over 1.6 million of us! We broke our two party system, have balance of power in the senate, and we're changing the way our country is run for the better.
@nickisnow1 lol,run for the better, look around you, your countrys wealth is being stolen, indigenous people destroyed,,taxed to death, and if you think the government are running things, wake up
The Green Party is the only UK political party prepared to actually do something about the real issues facing society; the triple threat of global warming, peak oil and economic meltdown. All the others back business as usual. The Green Party gets my vote! :) Go, Green!

I live in London, where we're not having local elections this time round, but I would be voting Green if we did (and there was a candidate).
