  • i guess 19 people were powned by Kenji Midori??

  • i dont agree with the music

  • @jstrongjaw would you prefer the death metal that most people choose? I find in these cases, MUTE works just fine. lol

  • @jstrongjaw We're here for Kyokushin. Who gives a crap about the music?

  • What I DISLIKE about Kyokushin is that it's forbidden to hit the head with the fists. That spoils everything for me and makes the whole fighting distance and selfdefense aspect questionable. Without that rule, it REALLY would be badass.

  • @tgallati That's too bad, glad you don't have to join them...:/ Only you could use your time better...It's not gonna change just because toy want it to.

  • @tgallati Originally Kyokushin allowed punches to the face. The whole reason it got banned was becuase of too many fatal injuries. Don't confuse the tournament rules with the art itself.

  • @jstrongjaw Are you saying that Kenji Midori does not have the eye of a tiger or that the music is bullshit? If you mean the latter one, then just mute the video...

  • That flying spinning backflip kick was insane!

  • Badass style, badass fighter....

  • WOW ! ! ! 8-O

  • True, it is about heart, size is somewhat irrelevant. Stealth and reflex is what you need. Minsang1st....get into this, it's awesome!..I started two years ago and this system works best...(for me, at least!!) I will be going for my blue belt in March!!

  • wow amazing. I would love to learn Kyokushin karate someday. It really toughens the mind and body.

  • POLSKA !!!

  • menuda mierda el karate

  • @BeastlyTheOne No this is Makoto's focus attack

  • This is true karate!! Not like modern shotokan or other styles of sport-like occidental karate!!

  • OSU

  • I bet he has a green belt, since he is called ''green'' :P

  • 1:45 o_O

  • Nice! Now that's great technique. The force, the form, the balance! He's just so firmly on his feet, as if he has roots growing. And every kick is so solid. Great!

  • Osu!!

  • Oss

  • anybody know, what the title of this song?

  • Respect to all fighters:)

  • Respekt dla Kenji:)

  • it's not about size. it's about heart.

  • @KerosAohco and mind

  • @KerosAohco yea when i had a heart problem, i couldnt do anything getting tired easily, after heart surgery i was feeling great, but that having heart problem for 10 years, i missed a lot of training..

  • is there weight classes, his final match looked like they guy had at least 20 pounds on him, or is it by rank?

  • @davidonspecialk at the world tournaments (every 4yrs), there are no weight classes, it's still open weight, however there are world weight tournaments held every year where there are weight classes lightweight, middle, heavy, super heavy. Yh midori faced a karateka called akira masuda, the weight difference was 15kg at least, about 30 something pounds. Only blackbelts are allowed at tournaments (safety) & fighters of diff styles but they have to be equivalent to blackbelt.

  • this guy reminds me broce lee

  • 0:55 Abel's Wheel kick from Street fighter

  • 165cm 70kg.

  • OUR KARATE IS THE STRONGEST! OSU!

  • @totoysago it is arrogant to say that i practice shotokan but i never say that one karate is stronger than another they are all karate originate from okinawa karate

  • @Jerryffs True but its known throughout Japan that Kyokushin is the "Stronges Karate" because it is known for its especially brutal and hard training. The sport has little to do with the practioner but "Strongest Karate" is just more of an saying and trademark of Kyokushin than fact. I think Kyokushin also helped in the formation of kickboxing becuase of its punch-kick combos(or so wiki says) so it was very well known

  • Track 5:35: Hans Zimmer - Red Warrior.mp3 [The Last Samurai].

    Greetings from Poland!

  • Tom hanks takes shit from no one.

    낳다고 장담할수만은 없을것갇다

  • so the rule in kyokushin karate is no punch in face but you can kick in the face am I right?

  • @MrRavege No punches to face or strikes to groin or joints (edge of knee, spine etc). All else it fair game!

  • That kata is kosokundai??

  • That guy is shorter and lighter than me.... but hes still built like a fckin bulldog... OSu!

  • They are kind of slow but they have full power...

  • the pure strength they have a very hard training.

  • he is 1.65, go ahead, tell him he is short..

  • 2:06 "Hello mom!" *kick in the chest*

  • song 1 ? anybody

  • @Kogel1986 ''Blur song2'' ;)))

  • 1:4 the most impressive about the kick is not the kick itself but the control ! he does NOT hit his opponent ! just stop before !!!

  • que kata realiza a los 6:13 min???

  • can u punch in the face in kyokushin?

  • @crap225 Not in tournament.

  • Comment removed

  • @crap225 no. no face punches or joint blows

  • i don't think you know x or a way so pick up a bible in your step. if you did know i would be invisible

  • such a great kicker.

  • Could someone tell me the... Well the qualities of Kyokushin karate that differs from other karate styles? To me it seems more... built and has more emphasis on the external than the internal...

  • @mikeymarshful What do you mean, internal? If you mean the inner mind, you realise Kyokushin has quite a strong spirit..Kyokushin is the ultimate truth - Spirit, body and mind. Kyokushin is a full-contact art that focuses heavily on Sparring, it is known as the strongest karate.

  • @corvanjer I don't mean like that... More like... Ah, damn. I can't explain it. :/ Sorry.

  • @mikeymarshful You mean like...Emphasis on kumite rather then Kata's?

  • @mikeymarshful The only "internal" stuff is usually the fighting spirit. The specific instructor however has much affect to these things.

  • @pastropmal I see. Thank you, pastro. :D

  • What was the 1st song?

  • what song is it at 5:31 ?

  • does anybody know, whats the name of the last song (from 5:35) ?

  • 1:10 whoohou :-) like a boss!

  • @5:10 you don't often see the final round competitors hugging eachother like that no matter the result.

  • This is the meanest 70kg fighter i have ever seen...apart from ramon dekker who was about 63 i think

  • maestro , el mejor nada que decir.....fuera de serie..

  • Sir

Thank you for up loading this video. I think at 1:09 Mr. Midori is kumite with my Sensei Mr. Shichinohe, Yasuhiro (the head of the Okinawan Kyokushin Branch back in the early 1990s). Osu

  • Beautiful executed kick at 1:50

  • Looks like 10 people that got beat by Kyokushin Karate.

  • @Tylerkat89 Yep. Idk about the other people, but im one of them. so mad, haha

  • @Tylerkat89

    BEATEN!

  • Never understood why people like those kicks at 1.15. It just leaves you lying on the floor with the opponent looking down at you thinking you are nothing but a bit of cock. by their nature they can never generate enough power to put someone down during continous sparring, and are a complete waste of time for point sparring.

  • Comment removed

  • @ollyb111 It can work very well. Kyokushin=no point sparring. The continuous sparring deal makes it hard to execute. Anyway, you also get time to get up take a deep breath and continue. I guess it's ten seconds or smt.

Fighting in a tournament like this... few would be the situations where somebody thinks like that from another competitor.

  • In Japan some Karate masters need a permission to be in the street!

is like if you have a gun, only that you are the gun

  • @terrorista31 OMG! Karate Masters need permission to walk on the streets? That was one of the most stupid things i ever heard! Do you really believe that!? Do you think we do all this hard work to kill ppl on the streets? Junkies, streetbrawlers and maniacs doing that better than anyone!

  • @ZoDDyXXX I remember that from the english show Mind Body & Kick Ass Moves when he is with the Okinawan Karate Sensei Ushiro

bur I can be wrong :P

  • @terrorista31 In that case this specific guy has a record of being a criminal and been put under some sort of probation. There are always idiots, but martial art masters spending most of their lives to improve their skills and have a huge amount of self discipline. I´m not a brawler, i did not start to train martial art becoz i want to hurt somebody.. I´m more calm today than ever, my aggression is under control, and i try to avoid conflicts at all cost, but i will defend myself if i need to!

  • any practitioner of any martial art would have the advantage in a street fight against an opponent who does not train, its a purely physical advantage. kyokushin is no different from any other style in that aspect. Thus saying "Kyokushin fighters would kick ass in a street fight" is a bit shallow and ignorant.

However, also note that if someone fight good in a ring will not necessarily be equally good in a street fight. Those are two completely different things, incomparable.

  • shit! he broke 2 big blocks of ice with his shin!! :O

  • Superbe ura mawaschi jodan à 2.21 mn

  • at 6:13 kata!!! love it

  • To all the people here writng shit about Kyokushin karate just watch ANDY HUG best fights , He was a K1 champion. With UFC focus now is bbj and wrestling. Stand up fighting Kyokushin karate is deadly look at Lyoto Machida. I trained Tae kwon do five years and Thai boxing 4 years. You have to take the best out of every art and become the best fighter. No single Art is complete. No point at knocking other style when they fight with different rules !!! These guys are not allowed to punch to head.

  • @parasucoxxx And don't forget that George St. Pierre does Karate too.

  • @ymk19 DID karate

  • @pastropmal Uh no? That's not even important. The thing is, he does Karate too.

  • Watching Karate this guy , he feels like he has so much weight and energy ...strange to explain he feels like he weighs 300 pounds with the force he generates with his blows

  • kyokushin is my life and oyama is the best

  • exelente video...pero que musica tan mas mierda

  • anybody kind enough to tell wme hat's the music from 5:30 to 6:16?

  • You cannot compare tkd to kyokushin karate, or rather you should not. The founder was Korean and a portion of the kicks you see in Kyokushin is really derived from Korea. So really this art form is Korean and Chinese ( White Crane ) and hence there is no such thing as a better style, since everyone is always borrowing from each other.

  • song blur!

  • 1;31 i laughed pretty hard :P

  • funny song

  • kyokushin had taught me to respect everyone , including the person i'm competing with .

  • For a shorter guy, I tell ya... Kenji midori has some spectacular reach with his legs

  • from where did you take the voices ( yaaaaaaa) in the end of the video?

  • What is the first song?

  • @xunfaina 12 Stone...... "We are one"... enjoy it.... it's pretty good when you feel like fighting XD

  • 165cm/5'5 and 70kg? man has some meat on him

  • Comment removed

  • Midori Kenji san is good but, never won against Sichinohe or Masuda. Was a big mistake of the judges. The final must be Sichinohe Vs Masuda.

  • All them have short arms why :/

  • eye of the tiger?! LMAO

    hahaha

  • Awesome video!

  • I hate the comment on Judo and Karate vids about "not surviving in the streets" (mostly by MMA faboys and/or Zuffa zombies)

  • @2ossy I know but Judo and Karate aren't the only one. My Martial Taekwondo has millions of haters. I would just want to see them fight one and see how it feels.

  • its hard to get inside an opponent who learn tkd using kyokushin . but i didnt say u cant . depends on the fighter . tkd fighter keep opponents off by spinning kicks so u'll keep on moving back .

  • @555hansy this commenti is based on a total lack of knowledge in martial arts... no offence but you're saying crap

  • @555hansy Actually it's really not that hard. That side stance a lot of tkd practitioners use makes it pretty damn easy to attack the muscles above the back of the knee, beyond that closing with a tkd fighter is no different to closing with any other martial artist. Spinning back kicks are taught and taught to be defended against in every single style of karate. A spinning back kick from your opponent is the absolute best time to move forwards.

  • @psychedashell The problem is that is not always possible to see a spinning back kick when you fight against a good tkd practitioner ... sometimes you go ko without understanding what happened . They spend a lot of time working on that tecnique . It's one of the most effective tecnique in tkd . You have to pay attention to their position before approching ... in tkd when your opponent move forward is the absolute best time for a spinning back kick , it took me a ko to understand it :)

  • @reppait I know. It's a technique I favour in competition as well, great for a surprise knockdown but I've spent a lot of time learning to hide it with combinations first and I still see it as risky. It's like our suicidal wheel kick, when you come unstuck you go in a big way and using it more than once, like say to push an opponent back, makes it worse because your opponent learns. When it comes to forcing distance repeatedly I'd definitely avoid the spinning back kick.

  • @555hansy In my experience (I practised almost every martial art) tkd is not very good for short distance ... they mainly try to keep you away by side-kicks but after 6-8 full power side kicks they are weak , the speed decrease then you can get inside . Obviously it depends on the fighter .When a Kyokushin fighter is close to you , believe to me , it's a very bad situation , they strike incredibly hard .

  • @reppait ya thats why tkd sucks .

  • thats why i choose kyokushin as my main style . so i can charge and strike

  • also for those who say kyokushin is weak against facial contact, i know my gym at least practices kick boxing in addition to kyokushin to widen the variety of contact. Our members are encouraged to do kickboxing too. Kyokushin is really badass, i looked forever before i found a gym that wasn't some pussy no contact sparring karate place, because that is what most places in the US are now... stupid.

  • this is scary holy crap

  • ousse

  • @chauhan411 its "OSU!"

  • Kyokushin is bad ass and Kyokushin fighters would kick ass in a street fight. However with the invention of gloves I think its a bit silly to keep this same rule set. Kickin to the head is no safer than punching to the head. Only punching to the body gives some of these fighers bad habits like keeping their hands down sometimes. All that said Kyokushin is no joke, they know how to fight

  • @fightclubfreak7 keeping their hands down... hmm in some clubs maybe but here in Croatia in my club we NEED to keep hands up even when we practice techniques... but if we put hands down :D senpai slaps us a bit .. not hard but you feel it hehe

  • @fightclubfreak7 no , punching the head is more likely to kill . kicking head is more difficult than punching head so you'll get less of it . in a street fight , i'll punch face sometimes but not always

  • It is a respect thing. It's not so much keeping their head safe, as much as it's keeping their face safe. In Japan it's respectful to not hit the face. but if you watch Shotokan Kumite, they punch to the face no gloves. It's actually REALLY powerful and Shotokan fights usually end with a straight punch to the face lol

  • @fightclubfreak7 OSU!!!!!!

  • @fightclubfreak7 Osu, kicking to the head takes much skill or as you said, bad posture on the opponents part. Punching you could just constantly clobber someone in the face with no resistance or with combo's with kicks and punches to the head could be very very lethal Specially by someone who trains under a Karate style whose main ideal is Power.
