  • Isn't that just corporate funded blackmail? Thats like saying hey, I know you sell marijuana I won't go to the cops just give me a cut in the profits. I mean holy shit who can not see that?

  • back in the day my grandpa recorded all the episodes of star trek as they aired on tv and then gave them to my dad. i've had quite a few disks burned for me by friends years ago and then given to me as gifts. people used to record music off the radio and play it on their own boom boxes.

they weren't charged hundreds of dollars per infringement back then, we shouldn't be charged that ridiculous amount now. end of story.

  • @aerring auctually they were... people made bootleg stuff ALL THE TIME

  • OR....just go to Best Buy and buy whatever it is they said you "Downloaded" and then let them take you to court and prove that what's on your computer didn't come from Best Buy and was purchased legally.

OR......just "legally" download everything from Starbuck or some other coffeeshop and then let them try to track you.

OR.....just quit being cheap asses and end this "entitlement society". If you can't afford it, then don't buy it.

  • Piracy is copying something that you didn't work for it and profiting by selling it to the black market .

Downloading something from a friend or a community is called SHARING .

The first one is unethical and illegal (profiting from the work of someone else) and is similar or equal to stealing .

The second one is ETHICAL (but they made it illegal ) and also the basis for humanity . Some people share with me objects or services i wouldn't be able to afford otherwise .

  • @ultranet u just answered every question ive ever had in the past hour

  • @DarnBurgerz thanks mate :-) I am glad i helped .

  • @ultranet thank YOU!

  • @DarnBurgerz :-)

  • I would never pay

  • would u walk into walmart, put a few cds and dvds in your pocket and leave without paying? its the same thing

  • @KripDrip No, it isn't. When you steal a physical copy of digital media the copyright holder, producer, and store all lose money, and a product. When you download something illegally, no one is losing any money. Furthermore, if you weren't intending on buying the product anyway, there isn't any lost profit.

So no, it's not the same thing at all.
