@Browner15 lake bemidji!! i live there and we can never seem to get a good crappie bite. But we mostly go for jumbo perch in the winter and usually get a couple limits each time.

Tough question without writing an entire book. Depends on what species of fish you are targeting. Crappies will usually suspend over the deeper holes of most lakes. Pretty much any species will eat a small crapppie minnow so thats always a good start.
a real basic anwser is do you see that little black box on the side of the ice hole it is a sonar and it can show you the botom of the lake and any thing in between includeing a fish and your bait... drill holes in ice walk around and stick vexlar black box in ice hole until u see fish and try all kinds of bait and lures
Crappies are one of my favorite fish to eat along with perch and walleye. I dip the fillets in milk and then cover them in Italian Shore Lunch. I like to keep fish in the 8"-10" range and let the bigger 12"+ fish go.
I want to move to MN. Crappie fishin on hard water rules

is that long lake, near big fork? seems really familiar.
coolio6993 4 years ago
No this was near Cromwell, MN. The bigger crappies at the end of the video were from a private lake.

what where u using for bait..??
ynothegreat 4 years ago
First 3/4 of the video was a forage minnow tipped with a waxie. The bigger crappies came on a forage minnow tipped with a whole crappie minnow.
