current CO2 levels are at 390 ppm and rising. it wont be long before antarctica begins to thaw as fast as greenland currently is, which btw is rising out of the sea at a rate of 1 inch per year. when antarctica thaws enough it too will rise out of the sea. it is connected to every tectonic plate around the world and will crack the earths crust. this isnt doomsday bull, this is science, and quite likely the worse threat facing mankind.

@whackitov i've heard that rumor before, and i believe that it is exactly that, a rumor. technology in the 1800's nowheres matches todays in measuring co2. accurate measurements, from more than a hundred years ago, verified, dont exist.

@vengencefrom1979 the Pettenkofer process was the standard analytical method for determining atmospheric carbon dioxide levels between 1812 and 1958 (ish) had an accuracy of within 3%.....400ppm -3% =388, 400+3%=412ppm.....hardly miles out where they? but yeah, somehow your idea of measurements taken at the poles from ice core samples MUST more accurately reflect actual levels than measurements taken in city centers during the 1800's...do you realise how silly it sounds?
