  • Pretty interesting, but I can't help but to expect to hear at any time, "You following me camera guy?".

  • One of the best games from the 8 bit era.

  • hahaha ur pretty fun dude nice vid u kicked open the door hahaha

  • I miss this intro!

  • "...Wikipedia says..." Wikipedia surely doesnt hold the truth. Nice review though. Too bad it also included some of the ending. This happens too much in videos.

I never played this game and maybe im buying it, but now i already now the end... bah

  • Great review of a truly classic game. Not just mindless button-mashing; no, this one took some brain power and creativity. Nice work!

  • It's one of my favorite games too. Thanks for posting dude.

  • Will you make a video of Uninvited and Deja Vu for the nes please? We would love to see those. Thanks dude.

  • I remember playing this game way back as a kid. As of right now, they should release it on the Wii virtual console.

  • I honestly think the foundation and creation of this game was inspired by Zork off the IBM back in 1980. They are so very similar it is not even funny. Main difference being this had pictures where Zork was just all words, not to mention the interface was much more difficult.

  • Ah yes the infamous having to blow on it trick :)

  • great !

  • yoink! really funny video, and great review for a great game

  • This game always frustrated me as a youngster. I could never get past the initial screens. I never got past the waterfall...never got that skeleton's key in the little lagoon with the shark...ah well.

  • friends??

  • That game scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, But I could not keep myself away from it. True classic adventure game!

  • scared me too!! i have so many great memories of this game.

  • That bridgekeeper guy did it for me.

    Fake coins... kills you.

    Eat my spear! I win!

Eat my spear again! I win!

    Eat my... wait, oh no.

Gold coins for real, can I please pas.. AAGH

  • I did a review of Shadowgate too a while ago. Our videos are actually kinda similar, but I'd never seen yours until now.

  • well, you can find it if you try, it's called shadowgate adventure. : )

tell me what you think sense your such a big fan of shadowgate your feedback could be really useful!

  • Great review!

me and my classmate just made a shadow gate movie you might enjoy of us inside shadowgate trying not to die :P

you might enjoy it so I posted it as a video response.

Can't wait to see more of your videos!

  • Great game and review

  • Lmao I have every thing that you need to do in this game etched into my brain. I speedran it once and did it in 19 minutes or so lol

  • That game seems pretty cool. I'm going to check it out.

  • I had a weird fascination with this game growing up. It terrified me, especially the music, but I just had to beat it. I went back and played it again recently, and was reminded of how almost any mistake you make results in your demise. Great game though, and nice to see someone remembering/reviewing it.

  • there is a mouse for nes or snes, ive seen it myself but im not sure what all games you can use it on

  • Dig the use of green screen in this vid.

  • I wish you would change the part that says "created by: me". It's not very professional, by my book. That's just me, though.

  • God, your opening is Epic! :D

  • Wow Epic"

    I'm honored.

  • nice video :> Really makes me want to play it ^^

  • Great review! 5 Stars!

  • why wasn't your Nintendo plugged in? lol. and I loved this game! I just got it a little while ago and was stuck on the first 2 screens for 2 hours before i found out the key for the second door was in the skull on the first door.

  • Hey Retrogamer you should make a video about Demon Sword for NES.

  • This game used to freak me out. I loved it though. Looking back its so simple though haha. I loved the music from this game. There are similar games such as Uninvited and DejaVu They are ok but this one is the best of the bunch. The game sort of reminded me of king's quest games, but I liked how you didn't have to guess as much as what to do. Don't forget to keep your torch lighted :p

  • Great theme song son, rock on dude!

  • Great video, again.

    Cool editing aswell!

    Keep up the good work.

  • Super Star Wars (1992) for the Super Nintendo

  • Faxandu was pritty hard game, i remember playing it when i was a kid.. damn i did not know what to do really

  • Great Vid, like always :-)

  • nice to see you get back to retro games

  • HELLZ YEA bro, i luv this game- great vid

  • nice video but the game looks pretty boring.

  • yet another great video. nice job

  • This guy reminds me of Renfeild from Dracula

  • Hahahahah you really think so?

    That's cool thx..

  • Right on man cool video.

  • I had this for gameboy. I remember using spear on self lol

  • The SNES had a mouse for Mario Paint, but I'm pretty sure that was the only game that implemented it...

  • in the last game on your intro,, can you do a review on that? also whats the name of the game`?

because i have played that before

  • Faxanadu. Go get it from my website and enjoy.

    It's a classic.

  • Bring back the theme music made by Max & Flunky.

  • what do you use to edit your videos :-) and nice video !

  • This was a really fun game. Frustrating, but once you figured it out it felt very rewarding. The port to the GBC turned out nice as well. There are two other games that run on the same engine, Deja Vu and Uninvited.

The only thing that ruins these kind of games is that once you've beaten them, you can just breeze through them anytime afterward. It's always fun to see how many different ways you can lose the game, though.

  • Awesome a new video. Never heard of this game?

  • 6:28 "Lets see what happends if we drink the beer" My first thought about that comment are "Censored" lol.

  • This is entertaining. I like ur reviews

  • Awesome review as always.

  • Awesome review Ed. I also picked this up back in the day due to the box art. I loved the music to it as well.Keep these fun vids coming my man!

  • So what? The 2D Castlevania games are so much better than the 3D ones!

  • No way! 3D automatically means better!

  • OMG never played this but I always loved playing deja-vu for the NES and this is like a clone of that game same music background and all! You should check that out!

ALSO abot wiki that is edited by users all over and is most the time 90% right but there is still that 10% time when they could be wrong now I would go with the 1991 myself! BUT it could have came out twice for the NES by 2 different company's!

YES though great review once again 5*

Sorry for spelling its really late!!

  • Good and simple review again, Retrogamer. You pretty much described what the game is, without ruining the room puzzles for people who would like to try it out. Cool editing and effects too!

5 stars for picking up an underrated game!

  • Wow!

    Holy thank you.

  • don't fear the reaper. J/K The website kick ass!!! Go now and get you emulation on.
