you see a guy staring at you n a weird way you flip him off you then turn around he then start to kick your ass for being such a douche your in the hospital you see a hot nurse giving you the IV she turns around and you pinch her ass she then to turn around and slps the taste oput of your mouth and disconnects the bloodline tank you start to daze out your dead your life has ended here.
and plus shadowgate is my all time favorite NES game of all time the soundtrack is the best thing bout the game and when i finally completed the game i was so excited and i yelled at it and said fuck you shadowgate i completed your ass lmao XD
"...Wikipedia says..." Wikipedia surely doesnt hold the truth. Nice review though. Too bad it also included some of the ending. This happens too much in videos.
I never played this game and maybe im buying it, but now i already now the end... bah
I honestly think the foundation and creation of this game was inspired by Zork off the IBM back in 1980. They are so very similar it is not even funny. Main difference being this had pictures where Zork was just all words, not to mention the interface was much more difficult.
This game always frustrated me as a youngster. I could never get past the initial screens. I never got past the waterfall...never got that skeleton's key in the little lagoon with the shark...ah well.
I had a weird fascination with this game growing up. It terrified me, especially the music, but I just had to beat it. I went back and played it again recently, and was reminded of how almost any mistake you make results in your demise. Great game though, and nice to see someone remembering/reviewing it.
why wasn't your Nintendo plugged in? lol. and I loved this game! I just got it a little while ago and was stuck on the first 2 screens for 2 hours before i found out the key for the second door was in the skull on the first door.
This game used to freak me out. I loved it though. Looking back its so simple though haha. I loved the music from this game. There are similar games such as Uninvited and DejaVu They are ok but this one is the best of the bunch. The game sort of reminded me of king's quest games, but I liked how you didn't have to guess as much as what to do. Don't forget to keep your torch lighted :p
This was a really fun game. Frustrating, but once you figured it out it felt very rewarding. The port to the GBC turned out nice as well. There are two other games that run on the same engine, Deja Vu and Uninvited.
The only thing that ruins these kind of games is that once you've beaten them, you can just breeze through them anytime afterward. It's always fun to see how many different ways you can lose the game, though.
OMG never played this but I always loved playing deja-vu for the NES and this is like a clone of that game same music background and all! You should check that out!
ALSO abot wiki that is edited by users all over and is most the time 90% right but there is still that 10% time when they could be wrong now I would go with the 1991 myself! BUT it could have came out twice for the NES by 2 different company's!
Good and simple review again, Retrogamer. You pretty much described what the game is, without ruining the room puzzles for people who would like to try it out. Cool editing and effects too!
Dude, AWESOME! This is one of my all time favs. One of the most underrated video games of all time. I was waiting for HVGN to review this game but it looks like you beat him to it. Thanks for reviewing this.

I remember playing this game way back as a kid. As of right now, they should release it on the Wii virtual console.
