Its kinda sad how many people are obsessed with playing something perfectly identical to how someone else played it as opposed to actually playing the song. Its this attitude, moreso than anything else, I have found that separates people with technical talent from actual musicians.

Nice try but completely in error. The technique is much more simple. Jimmy used a much simplistic approach that involved the ringing of open strings. I've seen many misguided souls do the same as u. Stdy harder or crack a book n they n think like Jimmy does. U will be a better player. Keep rockin dude :-)

actually, the Jimmy Page way is the E power chord,then just barring the 7th with your index like you said. then but your ring finger on the 9th of the A string, your index on the 7th of the D, and your pinky on the 9th of the G
