I'm happy to report that on Saturday June 20, 2009, the 3 legged deer was seen at a cabin across the river from my cabin. We thought she was long gone, but she not only survived the winter, she is doing fine.
This is so sad yet so beautiful. That poor injured deer - gosh I wish I could help it! I hope the baby is doing well. I just love deer - they are so beautiful. God makes such beautiful creatures!
The mother has not been seen for a while, she may not have made it, but the fawn is very healthy and independent and has his winter coat. He is quite friendly and ate corn out of a pot I was holding.
You think that is a wound from a hunters shots? I have deer name Nephesh he was hit by a car and his leg is intact but crooked. He is surviving well and strong even able to run. Animal have a strong will to live. What is the update on the deer?? I leave you my Nephesh on video response. Thank you

quick to blame it on a hunter huh as a matter fact ahunter shot a doe in the leg and it cut it clean off um no thats not really possible it was probly a coyote was chewing on it
It looks like her leg was caught in a hunter's trap.

As of mid August, the deer is fine. The fawn has weaned and is playing with other fawns.
