He didn't hit the guy because he wanted new jersey to get a penalty which even under Avery's standards is smart. if the guy tosses you around and you dont do anything then the other team gets a roughing call and you have a chance of another goal, Avery of course likes to get in peoples faces, he's the enforcer its what he does but in this case he just wanted to make sure his team gave Jersey the shutout. he's somewhat a good player but not my favorite. and im sure not alot of others.
