  • How have I never heard of these guys? Well, it's never too late as they say! I am so glad my brother played Mass Effect!!!

  • I think this would be a fantastic ending to the Mass Effect series. Not only is the music by the same band, but this song and Part II (used in the first game) have the same melody. It would tie directly to the first game, and really bring everything into a full circle. If you played all three games in a row, you would REALLY feel the connection from the beginning to the end.

Well, at least I would. :)

  • 2 more months.

    Anyone giddy with excitement?

  • Mass Effect 3 ending song !!!!

  • Music is the one true way to gather all into unity. Thank god for Mass Effect, thank god for noise... Thank god.. For the Faunts.

But my pistol still doesn't have a thermal clip! >:(

  • @warkill201 Don't worry, you'll get a the Normandy back )again) soon enough...

    *SPOILER ALERT (sorta)

btw what do you think happens if everyone dies in the suicide mission, including Shepard?

  • @GtanamoBay i looked it up and if everyone dies including shepard then you cant import your mass effect 2 save onto 3, the developers said that if shepard died in 2 that it is considered the end of his story so i'd imagine you'll have to start with a new shepard on mass effect 3 with default decisions that you probably wont like

  • open your earth and you see the universe whit this song.

  • @growkit How do I open the planet?

  • This music stops me everytime.

  • Wouldnt suprise me if they use this or another song from Faunts M4 Album for the ending song to ME 3

  • I demand Part 3 M4 in Mass Effect 3!

  • Truly Epic!

  • aww man this is just... so good

  • wtf how do you dislike this?

  • This song is criminally overlooked compared to part II. For some reason, in the EP, part II is the opener, and part I is song 3. I actually think this is the better song, on reflection - though the entire EP (all 5 songs, long as they are) is brilliant.

  • @AirWaterLandBuffalo it was at the end of a very good game so thats why it gets so much attention i just listened to it and i have to say i like this one better also i think it would have been better to play at the end of Mass Effect seems like it fits better

  • I like this... why didn't I find it befoooore

  • I have literally sitened to this song more than 200 times.

  • No, what mass effect did for M4 is what borderlands did for Cage the Elephant, and what halo did for Martin O'Donnell. The give them so much attention by presenting the music in such an easily appreciate-able way, without these games, I wouldn't have discovered half the incredible songs I have. When you hear it in-game, then like it enough to go and find it on youtube & buy it, it's an incredible song that you only got to hear through gaming, so it's okay to talk about the game here.

  • GUYS, I PLAYED MASS EFFECT BUT DON'T KEEP DWELLING ON THE FACT THAT THIS SONG WAS IN THAT GAME OR HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SERIES, CAN'T YOU JUST LIKE THE SONG FOR THE SAKE OF IT SOUNDING AWESOME??

  • @CIP3RM You left CAPS lock on. Must have done it by mistake since no one in their right minds would do that on purpose. So I'm just letting you know so you can turn it off. You're welcome.

  • im ignorant with this things...but what kind of music is this? style i mean...wanna hear more like it but i dont know how to do a proper search!

  • @ElAleru Wikia lists Faunts' genre of music as indie rock, dream pop, shoegaze. So I'm guessing this is along those lines

  • @ElAleru I would consider it chillout trance, but I've no idea :)

  • When I heard Part 2 I tried this song and didn't like it first go. Its now my second most played song on iTunes

  • 10 people are deaf.

  • Mass Effect or not, this is an absolutely amazing song with Part 2. Somehow it makes you feel away from Earth, reality and into your happy place

  • over 100k views is right. I've probably contributed over 100 views myself.. lol

  • ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ´

    This is my favorite song.

  • Lol i did not come hear from Mass effect i did not know founts where in it I got hear because of bbc radio 2 in 2006 i think thay played it in a chill dream cast show thing !

  • pure beauty.

  • I say put this in ME3 as part of the "story so far" part to get ppl up to speed

  • @kbhalacy I say, you shouldn't need a "Story so far," part of the game and people should just play the previous two.

  • @Jormungandor I completely agree with you, not playing the first and second games before the third would be dishonouring the series as a whole.

Not to mention that that way you wouldn't be importing a save, which is just plain stupid, seeing as the default options are retarded. (Wrex dead, are you serious?)

I can see people not getting into the first game, but there just is no reason why not to play the second one.

  • @MmSTM I can't fully agree with you there because I feel that as dated as 1 is, it's still essential. But I understand in the case of PS3 players who can't play 1, which makes absolutely no sense to me. Why port one but not the other? I know, I know, they get the back story comic, but to me it's not nearly the same.

  • @MmSTM What's wrong with Wrex being dead in a new game for ME2? That was the most difficult situation in the entire game because if you didn't complete his personal mission or didn't have a high enough charm/intimidate, you were literally incapable of saving him.

What really sucks is that the game assumes you did everything else wrong: the council is dead, Udina is automatically on the Council (which you actually choose via dialogue in ME2 when you import saves), and no past relationships.

  • @HayabusaNoTsuchi So you're okay with killing the only good character in the first game, but you're angry at everything else? That makes no sense.

  • @MmSTM The only good character? Really? I don't even know how to respond. I'll have to ignore it.

To clarify, I'm not angry about anything. I'm saying if you're starting a ME2 save without a ME1 save, then why should any of those little details carry over? It makes way more sense for Wrex to be dead since you have to do a lot of work to save him as opposed to the other choices that you literally make at your own discretion. It makes perfect sense.

  • @HayabusaNoTsuchi It wasn't much work at all to save him! All you had to do was put enough points into Charm/intimidate, or do his mission. It was stupid easy. Unless you rushed through the first two plot worlds, you should be able to make the life/death decision.

  • @TheCamerongates What? I don't understand you.

  • This is simply beautiful.

  • And please, can you change the license thing to under "creative commons"?

I don't really understand how making videos works on here (other than to just easily upload it from a file) I don't mess around with my comp much, just listen to music, FB or papers for college.

Any help creating vids would be appreciated.

  • please upload part 2 man.

  • Was M4 Part 2 written for Mass Effect or licensed by BioWare?

  • @irllcd13 No, the entire M4 EP was created in 2006 to be used as a soundtrack for short films for the Film and Video Arts Society - according to wikipedia anyway.

  • Started listening to Faunts because ME1 as well...M4 Part I is fucking epic. Listened to this before my boxing fight yesterday to get psyched. Fucking worked. Needs to be ME3 ending song.

  • Comment removed

  • Mass effect 3 ending song.

  • @SMS2RR That would actually work; this song sounds like a huge sigh of relief, and the Reapers' permanent removal would be pretty relieving if you ask me.

  • @Marth8880 I actually have a wish (one I know wont happen) that they use Search and Destroy by 30 Seconds to mars for ME3's credits lol

  • @Marth8880 Permanent removal? They're machines, not garbage. I'd call it "Their metallic asses getting blown the hell out of existence"

  • @SMS2RR Exactly

  • I like this song. It reminds me of "Staircase" by Radiohead.

  • It's hard nowadays to find good tunes I'm glad games have a way of connecting me to some of it from time to time.

  • Dios!.. me enamoré.

  • Nice part, electro pop feeling for some reason this part and part 2 make me sad, part 2 has wicked lyrics.....

  • That was an insanely badass song.

  • Я могу сказать только одно это музыка шедевр , надеюсь часть 2 или 1 в МЕ3 будет хотябы в титрах играть

  • I feel the same. Part 2 isch more like "pop-music".

Part 1 is, as you can see in the comments, like any style.

Every music should be like that.

  • I assume it was a license issue but ME2 would have been perfect for this. Thanks Faunts.

  • Totally agree! Tell Case Hudson!!! (Mass Effect 2 even really!)

  • Majestic. I agree with @cybarghost, this should be used in the credits for the final instalment of the Mass Effect trilogy.

  • this is to every mass effect fan here: go to the g4 website, make an account and vote mass effect as the greatest franchise of all time, we have to beat starcraft!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome band :)

  • maby in Mass Effect 3 thats music

  • This song would be perfect for ME3 credits. We all know the ending is going to be epic with this kind of musical description.

  • @JenkemBuckwildBaboon i agree with you but they did use faunts in ME2. Just saying

  • Part 2 is better.

  • I hope they put this one in part three...but not for the credits, during a cut scene or game play

  • What genre is this? Does anyone know?

Soundtrack isn't enough, I tried that...

  • @SageSensei they list themselves as "Electro / Indie / Rock" on their myspace.

  • what genre of music would this be under? ambient techno?

  • @makohit iTunes lists it as "dream pop"

  • @Fr0st1989 SicK genre.

  • @Fr0st1989 Wikipedia as electronic rock lol.

  • @makohit

On Wikipedia, the band is listed under the genres, "synthrock," "spacerock," "dream pop," "post-rock" and "new wave revival".

  • makohit

Why do people need to ''box'' music? Its like everything else, people need to feel like they fit in to categories. Maybe some music is just beyond the limitations of any single genre?..........I usually call such pieces talent rather than electronic-hiphop-avantgarde-indierock

  • I have wondered about you Where will you be when this through If all goes as planned Will you redeem my life again?

  • I love this song so much.

  • This is the best chill music, I love sitting back and talking to mates while this plays. My head also drifts away into the world of Mass Effect thinking of the Citadel and adventures I enjoyed as Commander Shephard. :')

  • @chinesecowsaysoink i was hoping for another faunts song at the end of me2

  • Would have much preferred this for my ME2 end theme.

Why this instead of P2 for ME2? Cus P2 was perfect for ME1, and this song makes me think of the calm before the storm, waiting for the Reapers to show up, and knowing that we are ready to face them.

  • @WolfenNights yeah, P2 has more badass-ery, so it works great for ME1. but by the end of ME2 they're experienced and want peace so P1 works great, but when you think of it, it'll work great for ME3 then :)

  • Ily this! <3

  • I heard the guy who was in charge of the music for the first two Mass Effect games isn't doing Mass Effect 3.......so who knows.....I just hope they use some of the previous games music for the die hard fans.....

  • @kbhalacy ya they got this guy named Clint Mansell whose done a lot of good movie soundtracks. Look him up.

  • @3C3D3S3

Clint Mansell?! Really?! You mean the guy who wrote Lux Aeterna, more well known as Requiem For a Dream?! EEPPIICC!!!

  • @PASPCHE yep have you ever seen Moon?

  • @3C3D3S3 No

  • @PASPCHE Good movie

  • @kbhalacy

I bet they'll reuuse the main theme and and possibly a few other themes.

  • I kinda feel bad that i discovered this band from the best game of all time. Which is ME (i hope you already knew that) I was very disappointed when i beat ME2 to find just the soundtrack from the game and not a Faunts song. I really do think that ME1 ending was more epic just because they added an epic song in the credits

  • @UltraMarine22297 Don't worry, they've got to have something epic planned for ME3 for sure.

  • @sarttan Won't be either. ME3 will have a complete different sound staff than me1/2 =/

  • @chinesecowsaysoink Ya next time a beat ME 2 i'm gonna mute the credit song and play this

  • @chinesecowsaysoink this would've nailed it

  • E = MC Vagina

  • This is good music to fall asleep to. I'm about to right nowojw pdjoic nfkvl klzxz ,m.

  • Yes from for ME many have learnt these guys

Да именно из за ME многие узнали этих парней

  • I found m4 part 2 a while back, always loved it (listing to nothing but it for like month straight), but never bothered to listen their other songs. I usually just download my songs free via PirateBay or Limewire (which is now closed). But I feel that I have to buy these guys songs to support them. I always do on artists I really love ^_^

  • Same here... never heard of them before Mass Effect. Shame on you media for shoving poor quality music on us and keeping us from good groups like these guys!

  • @ulzeraj Touche.

  • I'm another fan due to ME1...Faunts makes some great music! It's sad how there is such great music out there but all I hear on the radio is washed-out Linkin Park, stupid poppy crap and artists like Justin Beiber get famous for whatever reason...

  • @GPGTman what station do you listen to that plays "washed-out" linkin park non stop and not faunts? New LP stuff, and this are pretty closely related: M4 series was one of the inspirations for LP's new album.

  • @GPGTman I agree, all I hear is pretty much Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and everyone else, I may like some of the songs, but hearing them all the time is boring, we shouldn't just pay attention to the famous people, but pay attention to the other great artists that are not always gonna be noticed because they are not as famous. Music is music, it doesn't have to be popular to be great, and honestly, these songs are pretty unique, why don't we hear this anywhere else? its not bad to be unique

  • @GPGTman Amen to that :)

  • @GPGTman Fame is not quality.

  • @GPGTman Justin Beiber is a good singer and a good dancer, especially for his age. What the hell is everyone's problem with him? You people act like popular music hasn't been filled with shit like this since the dawn of time. Look up some of the crap that was popular in the 50's and 60's. Just enjoy the music you like and stop acting like such a retard.

  • @Knarf009 But Justin Bieber is a terrible singer...

  • @erebus890 Maybe to your uneducated ear you mistake him for being a bad singer, but just because I don't like what he sings I don't fail to acknowledge his talent as a singer and neither should you.

Try singing for awhile and maybe you'll learn to appreciate what it takes to sing like these "terrible" singers.

  • @Knarf009 I acknowledge his fame, but I will never acknowledge his so called "talent". Why? Because there is no talent to acknowledge. You can say whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

  • @erebus890 Really? So anyone can sellout stadiums and have millions of fans. No matter how you try to flip it, that's talent-- maybe not artistic talent, but talent as an entertainer.

And you won't acknowledge his talent because you're immature and insecure, not because he's not talented. You can't stand that some little kid who looks like a dork makes millions singing sappy pop songs.

  • @Knarf009 You know, I'm not the one getting overly defensive over the subject. If I'm being immature, than you need to take a good hard look at the definition of "immature". Going buy the definition, I'd say you fit the word much more than I do. Have fun trying to convince anyone to side with you. Bye, bye.

  • @erebus890 Immature: "emotionally undeveloped; juvenile; childish. "

Yup, I'm obviously the one described by that definition.

  • @Knarf009 no offense, but you need to calm down. i agree with you that he's not a bad singer, but you don't need to force that fact on someone else. let the idiot you were arguing with just stay ignorant. it shouldn't matter much this much to you.

  • @Knarf009 actually yeah, if you really think about it, his fame is by default, he's a teenage boy and their are millions of teenage girls that dream of him even though if he wasn't famous they wouldn't give him two looks. Thats the kind of world we live in. It happens with nearly even teenage sensation too, so the ability to sell out stadiums isn't really talent.

  • @TitaniumProAce You're completely ignoring the fact that not every teenage boy that can sing can do that. If that was the case then there would be a lot more than just Bieber.

He's special and you're going to have to come to deal with that. It takes someone special to be what he is, whether it's being technically proficient or just a good entertainer. Nobody sells out stadium by default and to think that is just hair-brained.

  • @Knarf009 I'm sorry, but I will never accept that he has any talent due to the fact he's just a pure fucking sleaze-bag. He only got into music so he can pick up chicks. That's not what fucking music is about.

And no, I'm not jealous about that. I don't bat for that team. :b

  • @Knarf009 Also, that guy is kind of right. The stadium was probably filled with squealing fangirls.

He's not so special. Just another mistake.

  • @Knarf009 It's funny because singing's not that much of a talent to me, LOL.

Did you know he lost a big shit loads of fans; just when he got his hair cut?

The only talent he has is being a sleaze-bag. Music is for expression, not fucking picking up chicks. :/

  • @SymphonyZero Oh right, I forgot that you were a mind reader and could tell the thoughts of people you don't even know.

Besides, music can be art or simply entertainment. Do you have a problem with the simple songs they make on kids shows?

  • @GPGTman Aw man too true dude.

  • @GPGTman it's called "payola", and music these days is built to sell, not inspire.

  • @germanboy66 It's always been that way. It's just that in the past, GOOD music made money. Now, most people like terrible music, so that's what sells.

  • @germanboy66 Then it's not music to me.

  • @GPGTman Don't fuck with LP, the "new" LP is the best soundtrack to Mass Effect ever

  • Comment removed

  • @GPGTman Welcome to my world. But at least some like you and me and others out there know that this stuff good stuff exists.

  • I'm actually curious. Had anyone heard of these guys before Mass Effect came out? Aside from the random Bioware designer who thought "hmmmm, kick-ass song. It'd fit right in," that is.

  • @pyr0m1

    I did. c:

  • @pyr0m1 It wasn't just a random decision. If you notice the guitar distortion is straight out of the ME soundtrack (or other way round, if you prefer). The EA music team for ME included some of the guys from Faunt's record.

  • @n16pr It wasn't EA that published Mass Effect it was Microsoft, EA bought Bioware after Mass Effect was released

  • @whitedragon40k Technically, EA bought Bioware before ME was released, but it is true that they were not involved with the music. However, my point remains valid, I was just calling it the EA music team, as that is the byline for the released OST. I was specifically talking about Jack wall and the rest of the music guys at Bioware.

  • MASS.EFFECT.3.CREDITS.SONG

  • I prefer the second part, but this is very good

  • Great song, but the end is kinda weird

  • @chinesecowsaysoink The reason i think they didn't pick this song for the ending theme is it is a little too ambient for an action packed ending.

  • I feel like this would have fit in with the ME1 credits just fine. But M4 P2 is just as good.

  • this is fucking good as song!!!..now this is the type of music i need to be pumpimg iron to...

  • This sounds amazing with a pair of good quality headphones on

  • Top played song in Chora's Den

  • This is what I visualize when closing my eyes and listening to this song: I'm falling towards flames, simply flames. I touch them, and in that instant, they turn to an ocean. I sink, slowly, into the desolate waters. Around 6:00, I see a helicopter flying while I am still underwater, it's blurry. I swim to the surface ecstatically, expecting my savior. The pilot flies away without noticing me by the time I reach the surface. I look around, and I am stranded in the middle of the ocean. End.

  • Al principio algo aburridona pero va agarando ritmo!!!

  • This song as the credit-song for ME3 with a video running in a background which sums up all the things you've experienced in Mass Effect. a bit like in Heavy Rain would be awesome :)

  • can someone tell me what is ME1, what is ME2? what the heck is ME3? and why do people keep talking about game credits and stuff??? did I miss something? no clue what anybody is talking about :( great songs though I like this one and Das Malefitz :D

  • @Xavieric311 ME is Mass Effect - a computer game series. M4 part 2 was the ending theme for the first Mass Effect.

  • @paulfruity Wrong its not just for computer

  • @CoIoneISeth Never said it was. But it's where I and i'm sure many others first heard of Faunts. Either way, glad to know of their music.

  • @CoIoneISeth he didn't say PC... he said "computer", which includes PCs and Consoles... they are all computers

  • @dodavieira don't forget macs

  • @aashapa Mass Effect didn't come out for Mac thou... that's why I didn't metion it

  • @dodavieira i play it on my mac with my windows partition. but i usually use my gaming rig for my thousands of playthroughs

  • Epic tune. This has to be the ending theme for ME3. Just can't imagine any other track fitting the way this one would. Come on Bioware, make it happen!

  • Atmospheric.

  • @chinesecowsaysoink the credits song in ME2 was amazing, but they should have put this there instead...maybe in ME3 :P

  • Can someone please tell me where I can find this...any format I don't care I just need to get my hands on this masterpiece

  • 10 people are deaf

  • pretty beat and song, Mass Effect owns all btw

  • This should be used in Mass effect 3, it would be an awesome song to say good bye to the series ;)

  • @cybarghost It's not goodbye to the series, just the Com. Shepard trilogy. BioWare has said that, even though originally concieved as a trilogy, they have now realized that Mass Effect is too big to just be a single series, but now a franchise that they will be working on for a long time.

  • @ThunderStorm8 It will be glorious new age.

  • @ThunderStorm8 Links or it didn't happen.

  • @cybarghost there'll always be more mass effect, they won't end such a successful series knowing bioware, but I'll be pissed if they don't include something ending the 3rd as epic as M4.

  • @cybarghost hey woah woah woah!!! nobody said anythink about ME3 being he last in the series! its only the start of a great journey, and i hope to see many more games from this fra....oke nvm, i confused franchise with series....yes, this song would be great as a goodbye.

  • What made the game complete, was the Faunts, and what made the Faunts, is the epicness of Mass Effect. With each other never sheding a singular tear to be with one another.

  • I'm really not a fan of feedback (grew out it, I guess). However, once I got past the feedback, I was really impressed. Awesome song, awesome sound. Makes me want to play ME1 again.

  • i think they should have used will you tell me then by faunts

  • Mesmerizing !

  • this fuckin shit is the jam!!!!...good ass song!!!!

  • This would go so damn well with Mirrors Edge.

  • um, derp. pt. 1 & 2 came out at the same time

  • This should've been on ME2 thumbs up if you agree!!!!

  • I love it, i'm definately going to look into more of Faunts stuff.

  • Thank you very much for uploading, I really love this song!
