  • Perfect.

  • @kolotripidis That made my day, thank you.

  • I think I must have bought that guy's old jazzmaster from a Tokyo dealer. I never saw frets with grooves that deep. Now i know how they got that way.

  • MONO didn't have a TWITTER account, so I created one for all us fans. Follow us @MONOfans

  • Music of the angels before suicide.

  • @kolotripidis I like justin bieber, lady gaga and mono.

  • @drcybyls go die

  • Boris at dusk, Mono at dawn.

  • Wall of fucking sound luck enough to have seen them when they played in Little Rock, AR. Bought the double LP and managed to get all these truly sweet people to sign it!

  • if you can stop politics please, art is life !

  • magnifique

  • I gotta thank you for uploading this video. It was my very first introduction to Mono and they've seen been my favorite band and I've been to 3 shows (in 3 different countries!) with them.

  • I am an old Pink Floyd fan.not much in my era to top them. i give this two big thumbs up!!

  • They look strange. But I love their music.

  • @kolotripidis The word you're looking for is "art".

  • Saw them live and they were fantastic. It was an emotionally cathartic show.

  • I wasn't aware that zombies went to Mono concerts...

  • @kolotripidis this is art

  • Although I found this one to be a biiit repetitive... =)

  • This is post-rock, people. Look it up, there's tons of stuff like this out there. It's basically harmonic ambient music with rock instruments. =)

  • @Zeanu Mono is not ambient. You're ambient.

  • @fsdhy1 Wh-why... thank you... That's very nice of you to say. =)

  • @Zeanu 'Post-rock'... what a dumb name. It doesn't make any sense. It's music. Simple as that. Why do people have to label everything?

  • @TheLagunaSunrise S'handy. =D Relax.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise If it wasn't for labels it would tougher to find bands of similar styles. Sure it may be frustrating when they don't fit in perfectly with what some people think a certain genre is but it makes it much easier to discover these amazing bands. I don't know how I would've found out about this band without that label. Enough of the holier than thou attitude of abandoning genres, lets be pragmatic.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise People label everything because then we know what they're talking about. Yes, it's not a perfect system but it's better than what you're proposing as I show you in the following example:

"Hey, you should check out 'Gifts From Menola' it's an awesome band!"

"Oh, yeah... what kind of band is it?"

"Well, uhm... it's a music band"

    See why this doesn't work?

Btw, how are things in Greece right now?

Seeing the people rise up like that is truly inspiring.

  • @noxure Don't start asking me how is a European country now. I lost the last tiny bit of respect I had for you so-called "communists" when you sided with Islam, particularly in Europe.

  • @TheLagunaSunrise Retarded political sneers like that on a music video is rather low.

I was just asking how things were in Greece, since it's all over the news here and that it's good to see people taking action instead of just swallow and complain afterwards. If you've got a problem with that, then just don't reply; fucking asshole.

  • @noxure There was nothing "retarded" about my comment you fucking piece of shit. Don't you dare ask me about the state of a European country when it is people of your ilk that is doing your very best to DESTROY Europe. Swallow & complain afterwards? That sounds like the people (so-called 'leftists') who side with Islam, when they know deep down that Islam is the polar-opposite of their beliefs. You FOOL, fuck OFF.

  • @Zeanu I think pure ambient music is made to be partially ignored whilst is being played, but I can't ignore Mono, and less when they're in live. It's hard don't cry or dream there.

  • this is definitely beyond music

  • Classical-Post-Rock.

  • watch?v=jcDKE_qLCk8

  • nothin hotter than a chick bassist in a dress stompin on a distortion pedal in heels.

  • @TheyDiedForBeauty NOTHING!!!

  • @TheyDiedForBeauty She looks like the girl from Grudge!

  • dam i wish i was there

  • i like it, expected performance

  • i just picture a short film in my mind that fits this whole music . . . its brilliantly amazing.!

but it involves a huge ass meteorite and the worlds doom. . . .

  • @laoshow it's true

  • you should come to seattle, ill rally the troops.

  • Wonderful performance,like!

  • ok my mind is blown

  • Makes shivers in my brain.

  • great song! i recomend searching for "a month's lifetime" on youtube :)

  • i love it...

  • wow, this band's the shit. but do these guys really need to be sitting in chairs?

  • 37 people couldn't find the like button.

  • mars volta all over this track and much better.still nice tune but really dont like the complete lack of interaction with the audience.take a seat in ur bedroom and forget about performing!

  • @goat6of6mendes6 I love mars volta more than most things. but, if you saw this live, the lack of interaction wouldn't bother you. i've had the pleasure of seeing these guys a few times. even met 'em once. cool shit.

  • @goat6of6mendes6 Haven't you seen any shoe-gaze bands...?

  • This song explains my life at this point in time. Verry powerful indeed... Also how old are these guys? They look young wich is awesome.

  • Brutalérrimo.

  • For new post-rock inspiration search for:

The Inituition - Watching the last sunset on earth

  • Feels weird to find out you've been filmed without noticing it!!!!

  • Oh god, why must that woman be so cute on acid

  • I luv Mono.

    The audience look like statues.

Is it possible to dance to music like this? how?

  • @AlexPiti5 is it possible not to dance to this?

  • @Metheny007 I'm just not used to dancing in general, i'm an "awkward dancer" the few times it happens...and this is something that would confuse my body if I tried to.

  • @AlexPiti5

This is isn't dancing music. This is the kind of music you just listen to and let it sink in.

  • @AlexPiti5 cmon try that with me! =] lets dance.... do the pogo

  • @shit311 I am also a fan of Pogo.

  • is this the japanese mono band? or the uk life in mono / band? sorry :p I really love their music, but my knowledge of them is quite little

  • @moemoe20092007 it is the far better Japanese Mono...if you ever get to see them live, do so as they are awesome...!!!

  • @moemoe20092007 Idiot.

  • @Chubzitrollable hmm? why? now that I know its the japanese band, I wont let go

    ^ ^ they are amazing

  • @moemoe20092007 Oh, well, I apologize, then. =P

  • @Chubzitrollable hehe no offence taken ^ ^

  • Went for a midnight stroll one night, listening to this, and their other songs, it was foggy, no traffic, and the street lights were casting an orange glow through the fog as i walked through the misty air. It was a great walk. I just felt in the mood for it, though i went to go get a pizza and 711 was the only place open, but they didnt have any made yet. It was still an amazing song. this song is so beautiful and mesmerizing, the feeling one gets from listening to this, are just unexplainable.

  • @Legendofsnake53 you sound like me. i walk by the river at night listening to mono, sigur ros or godspeed, of course stopping by the 711 on the way. it's my favourite way to experience their music.

  • @slowdives Haha, well the 711 is optional, but it is a great way to listen to experience their music, but any experience with their music is amazing!

  • this is such an incredibly beautiful and powerful song...This is the kind of music that keeps me alive...This is a masterpiece by THE band of the century called MONO..!

well..hope you don't see this as a spam, but I thought this might interest some of you..

I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"

You should lsiten to their song "Falling into nothingness" and "Lost in timeless horizons"

Breathtaking, intense masterpieces by such a young guy..

  • their music is soooo particular!!!lovin it

  • @JAL2K Yes, and Thee Silver Mt. Zion, and Grails and art and beauty and passion and....

  • Good? No, it's kick-ass bro! Long live MONO. Long live Explosions in the Sky. Long live Godspeed!

  • @papertoady Long live Mogwai! =]

  • God i love their music but not gonna lie, watching them live is kind of laughable in terms of stage presence.

  • @cdewd they're not a typical rock band though, are they? what do you want? Phil Anselmo type dancing/headbanging? they're off in their own world when they play, fantasizing about what inspired them to write this masterpiece. their music is their presense, and their music is FUCKING POWERFUL...

  • @TheLagunaSunrise

    This is REAL Shoegaze/post rock

very good and hypnotising music :D

    Cheers!

  • fascinating !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • saw them 2 times live some years ago (just had to follow them to the 2nd concert on their tour - irresistible). was one of most ecstatic music experiences in my life until now.

  • simply amazing.

  • Very goose pimply, smashing stuff. >=o)

  • You are there

  • take me there fukking please

  • 1. buy some good guitars, strong amps..

    2. buy some effects, especially hall, delay, etc.

    3. steal some strong theme or invent your own

    4. play music like Mono

    :)

  • @drbas81

then you'll also sound like godspeed, mogwai and all that other atmospheric post-rock. not bad, but heavily overdone.

  • This song just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger as it goes along! Great stuff.

  • even better live, the best show i've ever been to... and for only $13? I almost felt sorry, until I bought 2 shirts, a poster, and a dvd lol

  • no words can describe this..freaking awesome.....it'd be more dramatic if they play light effects & maybe more actions instead of only sitting in d chair....

  • Si supiera que iba a morir, pediría oír esta interpretación.

  • This song is so incredibly beautiful..THe atmospher eis magical..Its dark, its beautiful, its powerful...MONO is definitely THE band of the century..!!

well..Hope you dont see this as a spam, but I thought this might interest some of you..

I found a band on youtube called "Nyctalgia"

If you've got time, listen to their song "Lost in timeless horizons" or "Falling into nothingness"

Breathtaking, intense song by this extremely young guy..

  • @FoolishFoolin att the waiting room???

  • @assrapevictim no it was at the El Ray in LA!! good venue

  • Imagine Mozart playing an electric guitar and Beethiven nex to him playing some bass lines. So that would be Moonlight by Mono.

  • @ordnajelAoneuB lol..... YOU'RE FCKING RIGHT dude.... They will blow minds!!!!!!!!!!!!! T_T

  • @ordnajelAoneuB

    well moonlight is from Beethoven

Mozart is a whole difrent kind of composer:P

you cant compair tham to each other:P

but i know what you mean :P

    and yes it would:P

  • I love how into it they are, that's the exact emotion playing this music provokes.

  • that was intense

  • Well... what can I say, Mono can create their very own style and music environment. For me, each different music gives different mood but in the same sound. They manage to differ themselves from EITS and MOGWAI. Each of them have their own sickness. I respect MONO. they know their style and the chemistry among of them are really really tight.

  • today in Tartu. this is a must.

  • I was there.

    They blew me away.

  • @Dashpx666

Kus nad esinesid? Mina nägin vist 08. Plink-Plonkil. Siis oli väga lahe.

  • for some reason, ive never heard this band until just now.. absolutely moving, captivating, indescribable

  • To everyone who have seen them live: i'm going to see them today and i'm curious at how long they usually play? This is quite important...

  • love these guys! check out this slow tempo moody acoustic instrumental trio. they are out of washington dc but sound a world apart. search Youtube for "Radium Karmara"

  • coming again to Tartu on Monday. i've got to go, srsly:P

  • So they were there... did you go? What did you think?

I think I cried the entire concert.

  • Aaah, it was the best. I just went with the music with my eyes closed. It was like I'm being carried by waves. It almost made me over-emotional till tears. Almost.

  • @s0erd i was kinda sleepy, so i drifted in and out of consciousness too much, but was in front of the stage for the first song.

i'd say i've got to start listening to them:)

  • best ever!

  • probably the best post rock song ever...probably the best song ever...better than Beethoven, even better than Mozart.

  • This is great..!!!!Beautiful! Greetings from Greece :D

  • adoro questo brano, gli Mono sono la colonna sonora della mia vita.

    grandi , grandissimi , stratosferici.

  • i love the energy this band has.

i mean, they're not running around all corners of the stage but they move aggressively in relation to how intense it becomes.they're all in slow motion towards the end!

and the two guitarists - they may be sitting down ('lazy',as some guy previously described it) but they're fucking crazy! nice headbanging!

  • I've seen this band perform live several times, and they never fail to send shivers down my spine.

  • this.

  • It all comes down to the fact that this song is fucking awesome though.

  • man i love this song
