love the high def, great vid...dude...the thing is still squirming while he's just rippin his guts out with his bloody gutty mouth claws....brutal. and ....AWESOME! lovvve the blacklight too dude that is trippy.
This is the best homemade video of scorpions vs centipede ive seen so far, it would be a lot more interesting if you would of showed the fight from the beginning but any way this is a good video.
ive only seen ants one snake and now a scorpion beat the centipede but ive seen a centipede eat a tarantula, mouse, snake, brown recluse, and a house spider. wow
I own a Flinders Range scorpion, and although it has no relativity to this video I need to know how long they can go without food before I need to see if anything is wrong. It's been almost two weeks and although she doesn't run away from the crickets, she definately doesn't eat them!
@RefiningMask1 Dont worry, my tarantula sometimes goes a month without eating, and she is still a healthy and large. Mabey try smaller crickets, a change in humidity, or mabey she is getting ready to molt. Just take the crickets out after a day or so and then try agian a couple days later. If she doesn't want to eat don't try to make her.
thats chelicerae for you, besides eyes and mouth and the occasional stinger/ovivector,arthropods are nothing more than segments and legs of different shapes and sizes. a claw is nothing more than a leg with another second leg only a single segment jutting out the side. i still dont really get though what they have to keep food from spilling out their mouths if they dont use straws.
Great closeup and resolution of the chelicerae in action. It's a good thing desert hairy scorpions have enormous power in their claws and posses remarkable endurance because their venom is sure weak. That centipede was eaten alive XD
I pick these up with my fingers and their claws are almost strong enough to draw blood
like baby crab claws earlier he ate,Scorpion: Stop stop it! Crab: But I want some
Scorpion: Later Later just go back lol

Awsome insect. Nothing much is a match for it although it usually gets owned by the camel spider.

using uv light to detect scorpions at night.
kristinekg 2 years ago
@kristinekg no scorpions change color in the sun and really change color under a black light. im 98% sure its under a black light, not a UV light.

It looks like this dude is under a UV light. Isn't that bad?
